Wow. Oh MySpace, it's funny to look back
I think my song was some silly kids Christmas song, "I farted on Santa's lap" which played all year round! 😕 cause I was a cool 11 yr old...
This is one of those songs that as soon I hear I am transported to a very specific time in my life
it brought me to today and yesterday, and other days.

The way he hits that note while it blends into the guitar is truly amazing
Tis indeed
I was introduced to this song when I was 15 by a guy I was sharing the room with in an hotel where we were working as waiters during our summertime. It was one of my very first times out of my comfort zone and I was a little scared off my ass working so much and feeling alone and homesick. That guy was way more self-confident than me and took care of me. We would listen to the kooks in our room after work in the night and share life together in that short period of time. He passed away shortly after that summer work experience. Every time I listen to this song my mind goes back to those days and to the gentle soul of that guy that introduced me to this kind of music that changed my life forever.
Oh no. Sorry he passed. Was he a drug user?
Rip bro that sounds horrible but I’m glad u made good warm memories x
His memory lives on through you sharing this precious story. Thank you for letting us know his kindness even if just the tiniest bit of it :)

Masterpiece of modern Indie/alternative music
Posmodern music
I agree
2008 broh
@@venomirg6232 posmodern indie/alternative music.
Its from over 10 year ago, completely mainstream, and basically only good for a laugh at how ridiculous it is. in other words, no, no and no.
This song is something else.
Shit, when I first heard this song I thought they were so adult and so cool, and now I'm watching the music video, and they're all so young... damn time flies
Need to stop every once in a while just to see some things ,sometimes it gets too late and you would never realise it,no point in rushing life.
Ikr, they look like kids now 😂😂
I love how the lead singer's accent still appears while he's singing. 😍
christie2271 it was the style at the time. All the British indie bands used their own accents rather than the generic American accent.
Johnnie Ward some British people still use their accents while singing today such as Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, and the lead singer of the 1975.
***** yes of course but back in 2006 there was a really big indie trend and loads of bands all came along like this
christie2271 WTF is a British accent lmao? Do you know how many accents there are in Britain? Hell even England has like 4 different accents.
Faith Rox a British accent is, by definition, any accent of the British isles. And actually, I'd say there are about 20+ different accents in England.
My primary school football coach used to sing this song and it takes me back to a time of innocence b4 learning the cruelty of the world

Saw the Kooks live on 10/02/22 in Manchester (a few weeks before my birthday). I've heard this song so many times and at so many different stages in my life -- somehow it's always relatable. If anything this song ages like fine wine.
NOTHING ever compared to hearing it live for the first time, truly a bucket list moment. I'm listening now and it feels like I'm right back there. Hearing that sweet music, seeing the stage lights, listening and feeling for every guitar note and my heart beating out of my chest. Would love to shake the band's hand and tell them how influential this song was in my life! Some songs and memories are so vivid and surreal they transcend words.

Why are you even questioning it?
+Purple Glitter It never gets old! I have literally been playing this song almost every day for years and I never get tired of it. Meanwhile I hear a crappy pop song on the radio halfway through and I'm immediately sick of it..
Takes me back to studying abroad in London in 2006, when I first discovered the Kooks!

I had the 17 again dvd when I was little and I watched it over a hundred times. Such a great movie with gold acting and good message. This song was the first song when the credits and I just added to my playlist. I absolutely love this song.
Wow we really lived the same childhood
Isn’t this song like the perfect ending song for that movie

no indie bands are just indie again, the sound isn't popular to mainstream anymore. Try the crooks, the snuts, The lathams are a few good bands under the spotlight. Foals and catfish are pretty popular. Follow music you love, don't be forced to listen to crap the radio shoves through your ears.

This song was released in March of 2006; I turned 16 in June of that year and this song was part of the soundtrack to that summer...
I met a girl, and fell in love (and out of love and back again which was a pattern that repeated itself too many times for me to mention and with the same woman for the best part of the following decade)
Hearing it now still brings back fond memories in a nostalgic way... happy, carefree times as teens... we didn’t know how lucky we were... but it also makes me sad for the same reason.
I don’t know that girl anymore- I hope she’s happy...
But I sure am thankful for songs like this one. The noughties were such a wonderful time for indie music. We were just so lucky.

I feel so many emotions listening to this song, makes me feel like I'm not the only one heartbroken.
Every lyric of this song is applicable to my situation and it hits me so damn hard.
This year I had a girlfriend which I loved more than anything else
We broke up because she is crazy about literally anyone who could make her smile.
She eventually cheated on me and now has a relationship with the bartender of the pub two houses from me.
