Probably for the zones he didn’t shut off. If you’ve never owned a house. The breaker box has a master switch to kill the whole property. He was just shutting down the kids bedrooms.

In England (and probably other countries) you can get free or cheap (£5) furniture sets at recycling centres. My dad got some for the garden but some broke, half worked. He got his money's worth but he brought some super nice furniture for the living room and the extra room (supposed to be a dining room). Sometimes you can be cheap but sometimes you gotta spend money.

When I was a little girl, we used to be very poor... ME, my Mother and my father were living in only one room, we didn't have water or electricity. So...I know it's gross, but we were doing bath în the same water cause we didn't have enough. We used to negotiate with some far away neighbors to carry water from them AT a low price. Fortunately, now we live soo much better.
