Don't have to do all that just shut off the car remove key open the door so the car module fully shuts off. turn on the car and drive once It hits 3mph it will shut off it will continue to come on over time but like you said easy way is to replace the Steering angle sensor to fully fix it. Great video on explaining it.
@@lordhelmet9066 sometimes the part is fully gone bad and needs replacing. Still not a hard piece to replace just the airbag is the caution when replacing it. Just be-careful who does it cause every part is old and not easy to find especially parts that only can be found in used form.
That worked! thank you.. finally a tutorial that qctuqlly was worth watching .. I'm a single female and recently outclassed a 2007 6 cylinder dodge charger and have had a few issues with it and this was the first issue I've been able to handle just like that.. thank you again .. even though it's had issues still love it ready to upgrade to a 8 cylinder soon 😊 Cassie
I'm dealing with an ESP/BAS that comes on and then it triggers the check engine light and causes me to not have wide open throttle or 5th gear in automatic mode. Check the engine code and it said it was the cam position sensor. So I replaced the Cam position sensor and the ESP/BAS comes on still and triggers the check engine light leaving me without wide open throttle and no 5th gear in automatic mode. The other condition stated to replace the PCM . I'm close to about 160k ... Also my turn signal is a manual process as well because years ago it got really cold and my turn signal .....broke or a spring that allows it to retract back by itself stopped working so I manually do the turn signal(putting it back /stop it from signaling) crazy thing is the ESP/BAS comes on when I even turn the head lights on ...so im like the car ain't even moving and the ESP/BAS gets triggered
Dude had this issue for about 2 years and never fixed it lol it can be fixed realigning bolt under the airbag but I’ll definitely be using this trick 😂
I drive a 2008 Dodge Charger SXT and right after I drove through a bad rainstorm the ESP BASS and Traction Control lights started coming on. Now my car has the ESP BASS and Traction Control lights turn on after I start my car, back out of my driveway, and put it in drive. I also may have temporarily fixed it. Now after I start my car I press the ESP OFF button two times before I back my car out my driveway and go away. Now when I press the ESP OFF button two times before I back out of my driveway and drive off the lights stay off. I hope when the ESP BASS and Traction Control lights are off that I still have my anti locking brake system and traction control working properly. LOL but this is a quick fix for now
I've had my 2008 R/T since 2009 and in the last couple of weeks this is the same problem I'm having, always happens on a left turn, and I never noticed or not with the turn signal, but it must be because I always use the turn signal. It usually will reset itself after a couple of drives but then happens again. It hasn't stalled on me yet though. Tidbit of information, I had the car in the shop getting brakes replaced and my ESP BAS/Traction/ABS lights were on all of the time and their computer detected that the sensor pack in the rear needed to be replaced. They did that and I haven't had the lights until a couple of weeks ago. I was thinking maybe the sensor pack they replaced went bad but after seeing this video I don't know.
Dead ass helped so much my wheel speed sensor had came unplugged I put it back in and the lights where still there I reset it by turning the wheel 2 times to each side then drove and light turned off and esp button works again
My car does the exact same thing, only when i use my left turn signal and it clicks back itself. The only difference is that my car still runs just fine after. I replaced my steering angle sensor and it still does it. I’ve done the whole calibration/reset procedure a million times. I also got a obd2 scanner that is able to reset it and all that, and surprise surprise it didn’t work. The scanner I got can scan all the systems in my car and i haven’t found a single code about it. It’s driving me nuts.
Update: I finally fixed it!!! I had to telescope the steering wheel out and up as far as it could go. Then I used a T30 screwdriver to loosen the screw on the right underside of the steering column exactly 5 turns. Then I grabbed the whole assembly that has the turn signal (the smooth plastic part than goes in and out when telescoping) and pulled it towards the steering wheel as far as I could. It didn’t have much play in it but I was able to pull it about 3 millimeters. While I pulled on it, I tightened the T30 screw back down all the way. Then I went through the process of recalibrating it (starting the car then turning the wheel all the way right, waiting 2 seconds, turning the wheel all the way left, waiting 2 seconds, and turning the wheel back to the center. And voila it worked!! I’ve been dealing with this since I got the car 5 years ago. I’ve never been happier after working on my car.
About to buy an '07 R/T with the light, it stayed on when I test drove it (that & TC were the only lights on) but I believe this one was a retired cop with unplugged wires laying around in different spots so that could be it.. idk, does it affect the driving on yours?
It almost seems like a steering wheel clock spring problem because the turn signal is involved but it probably is a faulty steering angle sensor, not too familiar with Dodge.. I feel your frustration bro, no one likes lights coming on in the dash. This is an "OK" temporary fix but you know that damn light coming on will eventually drive you crazy right? lol you might just have to bite the bullet on this one. 🤬
