"tote Hose" (literally dead trousers) actually means something like "there's nothin goin on" or "it's boring here", just a german colloquial phrase. Strangely Anastacia Newkirk isn't very known in the US although she's american. She has one of the greatest rock voices on the planet with a power that only John Farnham can top (and maybe only few others). If ya into german rock music, try Udo Lindenberg! He's a banger! Greets from Germany, enjoy!

Anastasia is unbelievable good and this version of the song is really good, but i`ll stick with the original. I´ll never forget screaming this song the day my favourite football club advanced to the 2. Bundeliga while our top striker was on stage singing it. What a day and what a hymn!

Campino, already 61 but still quite fit. You should listen to some old songs.
Tote Hosen, I once really liked it in the mid-80s. The style of music was exactly my thing. Not as growling as in punk, not as screaming as in metal and not as booming as in death metal and still hard and fast. Even though their lyrics weren't exactly on my wavelength ideologically but artistically yes.
The albums "Damenwahl", "..bis zum bitteren Ende", "Kreuzzug ins Glück" und "ein kleines bisschen Horrorschau" ran in a continuous loop for me.
At some point their sound became too commercial for me. I like bands that stand out a little from the mainstream but that's how their songs started to sound. However, they are still good, even if they are no longer for my taste. I still hear the old songs today.

Anastacia is an american singer from Chicago. She is a star in many parts of the world, but her big success in the USA didn't happen. In Germany, such artists are also called "World Stars in Germany" ,because you can't imagine that they aren't successful everywhere Her last album consists of covers of german hits, such as this hymn by the punk band "Die Toten Hosen". They are legends in german speaking countries.

Campino from Die Toten Hosen himself wrote the English lyrics of their song for Anastacia.

Anastacia is an American singer songwriter who is pretty successful in Germany for years.
i think she even sang the German anthem when opening the Soccer World Cup in Germany in 2006.
One of her best soul performances:

I never thought I'd live to see this day! That a pop artist like Anastacia covering the Toten Hosen, a German Fun punk band. The video however seems out of sync.
Fun fact, they made that song also in Spanish.

They are from Düsseldorf (25km from my hometown) and my oldest sister was a big fan of them. This lead to my first concert at Düsseldorf Rheinstadion with the Toten Hosen as the lead act. It was their so called 1000th concert. Since then i disliked concerts at stadiums because of the bad acoustic. Today there is only one band that can play in stadiums and deliver perfect sound - you know them - Rammstein 😉

That Concert was rock am Ring, one of the biggest German music festivals, 65000 people, Die Toten Hosen headlined there multiple times. Also they have no trouble filling arenas, big venues etc. One of their biggest Concerts was in Leipzig with 60.000 people, no festival, just their Concert in 2015.

When I listened to a Anastacia song on the radio for the first time (long ago) I thought - just by her voice - that she is a black lady. lol. I think the song I remember was "I'm outta love" her first big hit. Toten Hosen another great german group that is with me since my teenage days - I'm 50 now and still visit every concert that is near my hometown of the Hosen and Ärzte 😌

Die Toten Hosen (the dead pants) are a German punk band who have been around for 40 years. I'm pretty sure it was played a lot during a soccer world championship. The first one was the English cover of this song. I'm not a huge fan of the Toten Hosen, but I've seen them live once and have a few of their older albums. They are a great band.

I want to give you a natural remedy for your cough. Get an onion cut it in half and chop it up and add sugar and let it sit for 20 minutes. Pour out the liquid and add local honey and some cayenne pepper. Take a teaspoon. It will keep in the fridge for about a week. ❤❤❤. Feel better soon 😊❤
