I did the same thing as Gia and I wrote to all my teachers... They had a meeting with my dad and they have to use my dead name... I'm trying to make changes in my school. There is such a large number of lgbtq students. I am one of two transgender students and him and I are trying so hard to make our school better

It is amazing to know that these kids can transition at an early age. I was never allowed that opportunity and it has created trauma, mild depression and suicidal ideation. Doing much better now, though.

It makes my heart happy to know these kids are loved and accepted for who they are..there are still ignorant,hateful people in this world but if we all ignore them and only focus on the positive which is love,kindness,and compassion we will make this world a better and safer place for everyone 😊

I feel exactly the same. I wish I would have been allowed to transition as a child. It would have prevented so much grief, anxiety, not to mention all the irreversible effects of male puberty. I transitioned at 25 and am happy now, but I pine for my lost youth and know my life would have been much better and easier if I had parents like these.

I can't with all the negative comments.... especially religious comments. Not everyone believes in god and just because you believe in him and in the bible does not mean you are a good person or that you are going to heaven.

The best part of this video is the comment section. How nice it is to see the true faces of the allegedly good people. I see a lot of stones being thrown, judgement and arrogance. What happened to love thy neighbor? If you can only love people who are like you, how is that a virtue? You talk about child abuse, but how many kids are thrown out from their homes without money or a chance for higher education and shunned by their families for being different? Your holier than thou attitude surpasses your compassion by far, your brain is filled with empty words while your hearts are cold. I'm mostly disappointed by women using the Bible as a justification for bigotry, the same book which states: "I do not allow a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; instead, she is to remain quiet".
Don't use the bible as your evidence. There's more than one religion that despises gender change. Additionally, it is fact that the bible is one of the most altered religious books.

What a wonderful, informative, and accepting video about Transgender and especially these examples of Transgender kids who are just as normal, smart productive, and a part of the future of the world. These children and their families, friends, and millions of supporters are a testament to the loving values most of us live our lives in example.
Then we have the christians. You see them here and everywhere Transgender videos or discussions are taking place. The christians who debase and devalue their lives in pursuit of the holy grail of hatred, intolerance, bigotry, and self-righteousness. Christians who spew venom at LGBTQ in general and Transgender specifically, somehow believing acting like they do in pious derision against others is appealing to their god and their bible and their community. We are living in the Twilight Zone! We don't let kids drive, drink, smoke, do drugs, stay out all night, etc,etc,etc. Why are parents letting their children switch gender. The amount of effort it takes to let do this could be used into helping them mentally. Adults today have to treat this like they did with fads when we were younger. How many adult Goths are walking around. Children are now telling parents how they will live now.

Just because some people transition for the wrong reasons and regret it doesn’t mean it’s a wrong for everyone. Chemotherapy would be very damaging to a healthy person if they underwent it. Does that mean it shouldn’t be given to cancer patients?

Sue Baker this is a very interesting topic if you like psychology or sociology. I’ll recommend to watch a documentary about trans gender (many short ones on RUclips). I was also very confused (and questioning religion) but after informing myself I’ve found this topic AMAZING. It’s a lesson for love, acceptance, personal growth, character, etc. I’ve learn so much about my life and my quest throughout this topic (I’m not trans, just a normal heterosexual with a beautiful family). But the fighting to be themselves, wow, this kids and their parents just WOW. Knowing their personal stories since being babies is amazing, I promess its worth your time.

I might get flack from this, but hey I get called names for my opinion, but as a Christian and Conservative first off I have no problems with LGBT ppl and ppl who are trans if they want to be who they are that's fine, but it's really hard for me to refer to a trans person by the pronoun that they want to be identify as when they're not passable, 'cause you don't look like how a woman or a man is supposed to look like, so if a trans person is passable I will refer to you by the pronoun you identify as since you look like how a girl / woman or boy / man is supposed to look like and plus it would be illogical for me to misgender a trans person who is passable...I hope I don't get flack for this, but it's just my opinion from a logical standpoint.
No. This is a matter of basic human respect. If someone tells you their pronouns are she/her, you refer to them as such. If someone told you to call them by their nickname, you would happily oblige. You wouldn't act like a jerk and say, "it's not your real name, so I'm not going to call you that."
To be fair, nicknames are variant and not socially binary like gender in most ways is. It is good Akon Fenty that you are understanding and open-minded and do not refuse to use one's preferred pronouns, but it can be understandably difficult.

@@aviiisc3p0, Unfortunately we have males transitioning to women, or even not transitioned yet, competing in women's sports. Not ok, because the biology is different. Now women who trained and worked hard to be top in female sports are losing to biological men. I'd be cool if they had separate trans teams compete again each other, but a biological boy against biological girls and visa versa no.
