대구 기상대기념공원을 둘러보았습니다. 그리고 기상대기념공원에 딱 붙어서 그림처럼 서 있는 대형 카페 모노리스에서 브런치를 먹으며 즐거운 시간을 보냈습니다. 영어로는 Monolith고, 실제 발음은 모노리스가 아니라 모놀리스가 되고, 뜻은 '하나의 덩어리나 구조물의 형태 그대로 부어 넣어 세운 콘크리트물'입니다. 건물이 정말로 딱 그렇게 세련된 모놀리스처럼 생겼습니다. 1층부터 4층까지 있고, 4층에 전망대가 있는데 기상대기념공원은 물론이고 신암동 일대, 평화시장 일대가 한눈에 내려다보이는 아주 멋진 곳이었습니다. 물론 브런치와 음료수도 정말 맛있었습니다.

And I had a great time eating brunch at the Monolith, a large cafe that stands like a picture right next to the Meteorological Observatory Memorial Park. In English, it's called Monolith, and its actual pronunciation is not a monolith, but a monolith, which means "a concrete structure that was poured in the form of a lump or structure." The building really looks just like a sophisticated monolith. It has the first to fourth floors and an observation deck on the fourth floor. It was a wonderful place overlooking the whole area of Sinam-dong and Pyeonghwa Market as well as the Meteorological Observatory Memorial Park. Of course, the brunch and drink were really delicious.
