My story doesn't quite have the happy ending. We met after talking online in May of 99. We dated until she left for BYU in late August of that year. She blocked me on Facebook after telling me she loved me then and still held a large place for me in her heart. I played this song for my hubby 22 years ago after meeting face to face the first time after meeting on AOL. It was still very taboo at the time to meet someone online. This song spoke volumes about my feelings for him. Here we are 22 years later, still very much in love, married for almost 21 years. This song means so much to us.
My story doesn't quite have the happy ending. We met after talking online in May of 99. We dated until she left for BYU in late August of that year. I was completely in love with her, to her I was just a fling...or so I thought.
We didn't talk again for 10 years, I was happily married to my wife of now 21 years, she was simply married with children. She blocked me on Facebook after telling me she loved me then and still held a large place for me in her heart. She didn't want her husband to ever know she loved me still and that part of her wished her kids with him were mine.
We have never spoken since that day.
Hearing "In your eyes", "Don't take the Girl" and "Goodbye my Lover" still make me emotional to this day.

A special, calming song that gives you feelings of warmth and peace. Darren Hayes' falsetto is something else; the drum and bass parts make the song sound almost as if it has its own heartbeat. They almost never recorded it at all, which has to make it one of the most surprising #1 singles ever. Just memorable.
This is a treasure, for sure! It just all works! Great video to go with the music. The lighting (black and white) grabs me every time! Like I want to freeze frame.
