FYI - the iBlaisson is available online from walmart. Mine will be 2 years old in June (bought case & MBP 16" 6/2019). The translucent top and bottom sheets separated from the outer frame so I just removed them, (I use a decal on top for scratch protection). This leaves the bottom to stay well ventilated and still protected by the frame.
What those case reviews are missing, are the actual drop tests with laptop inside the case. How do they hold drops from 1-2 meters... Any case will protect against scratches. But most people who are interested in buying those are really interested in "how those cases will hold up when laptop falls on hard surface".
You are correct that many UAG (Urban Armor Gear) case reviews may not include information about how well the case protects a laptop during a drop test. Drop tests are a useful way to evaluate the protective capabilities of a laptop case, as they simulate real-world scenarios where a laptop may accidentally fall from a height.
