- This video provides the lyrics to the hymnal "Uncloudy Day," written by Rev. Josiah K. Alwood, translated into the Navajo language. The translator of this song is unknown. This song is also known as, "The Unclouded Day." The music is by the late Millie Begay, from Wheatfields, AZ. The literal English translation is written below each Navajo word to help learn the words and meaning of the song. Enjoy!
Getting teary eyed listening to all these Navajo gospel songs, my late aunty Donna Riggs always sang them to us. Yes its a reminder of those that gone on to be with our Lord and my dad Tommy Thompson. I can just imagine them singing these songs in heaven. My dad and I would sing as we rode horseback. I miss him dearly. Thank you my heavenly Father for those memories.
This was a favorite of ours to practice too, everytime I hear this and many other wonderful songs it brings me to tears just thinking of my Loved ones that have passed away {especially of Dorothy, my dear sister in Christ}. I know most of them are waiting in Heaven now, so I just have to Keep the Faith and stay Saved. It gets hard, but with God's help I will make it.
I love this song...now I really like it ..never heard it in navajo b/4
