I don't think a single piece of music has such power to bring a man of conviction and purpose to tears. This symphony has such a man reflect on his journey's past and future and know with certainty that he has the support of the very divine. Nothing can stop such a man, and the triumphant resolution so vividly expressed here is his only possible destiny. Beethoven, you who have long passed, you have moved my soul to believe that I can accomplish anything.

By far the best performance of Symphony No 9 Concerto Style I have ever heard. I have listened to this performance over 50 times. I never get tired of it because it contains so much life and passion from both of their Maestros and artist.

It always amazes me how complex it is to get all these musicians to play in unison. To me a symphony orchestra is the highest expression of music. It's not that I don't love other music-rock, jazz, new age-they all give me something. But a symphony is the ultimate.

I admire how the humans can cause so many bad things, horrible things, as genocides, wars, climatic change, but still create such a beautifull thing as it is this kind of music, and i find it really inspiring. Me with my 17 years, have found something to proud of humanity.

This is a student orchestra (UC Davis). Besides being part time musicians, they are responsible for keeping their studies up, some in majors other than music. There are only a few "hired guns". All things considered and, based on the number of views and likes they receive, they did a mighty fine job!

I am german and I am very proud of Beethoven, one of our greatest composers!
Some words about the "9. Sinfonie": It´s one of the greatest gifts form us to the world. It´s the dream of peace, freedom and humanity. The lyrics are so great, bigger than the human fantasy.
And, of course, it´s a prayer for forgiveness for our crimes in history. Don´t forget this words when you judge about Germany!

I've listened to music like this since I was a kid. I finally got the urge to write something like it and the result was my Piano Concerto No 2 in D Minor which is on my RUclips homepage. I tried to fill it with beautiful melodies and the dramatic spirit that's in this symphony. Don't know if I succeeded or not, but I know composers much better than myself are out there who can write something like this. I sure wish they'd try. People are getting tired of new/avant-garde/electronic, I'm sure.

It is genius enough for any human being to compose such a masterpiece, but to think that Beethoven did this almost 200 years ago, without any help from modern recording technology, while being completely deaf!!! To be able to imagine more than an hour of continuous symphony in your head - that is brilliance beyond the reach of words.

Some Clarification of the "little dude in the suit…
He is - Martin Gerard James Neary LVO (born 28 March 1940, London) is an English organist and choral conductor. He was Organist and Director of Music at Winchester Cathedral from 1972 to 1988, and Organist and Master of the Choristers at Westminster Abbey from 1988 to 1998.[1] Neary read theology and music at Cambridge University.[2]
As the organist at Westminster Abbey, he was the musical director of the funeral service for Diana, Princess of Wales, for which he was appointed a Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order (LVO) in the New Year Honours List in 1998.[3]
He has been particularly active in the promotion of the music of John Tavener, whose "Song for Athene" was performed by the choir of the Abbey as Diana's coffin was borne out by the pallbearers.[4]

I have a special respect for anything that is still popular after centuries, just as I have special respect for people who manage to survive for a century. Although I enjoy to draw on themes with an ear to a contemporary hook, I am inspired by and aspire to emulate the masters who are still loved 200 years after they died. I would be thrilled if even one of my themes became an evergreen such as theirs.
