Is there more to the theme than the mere few seconds that we hear in the intro? I know they sometimes run an extended loop of the "stinger" bed at the end of the newscast when they need to stretch for time. Just wondering if there's a whole "WNEP NewsWatch 16 Song" out there somewhere, like the hokey "Move closer to your world, my friend" from WPVI's Action News.
Newswatch 16 is quite easily the most recognized news brand in Northeastern Pennsylvania. It's all part of a formula that has kept WNEP as the #1 local news station for what seems like forever. As they say, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
I can't believe in 2007 a tv station still has the moniker name "NewsWatch".That soooooo 70's! Why not drop the NewsWatch and become The News Station 16 or Eyewitness News.
When I went to Scranton last June the hotel I stayed at was right next to WNEP-TV's studio.
