      We're pleased you found this video helpful, whitefangv. We recommend checking both the Flixbus app and RedeExpress on the myRNE app, as both companies have €5 specials between Lisbon and Portimão. ~ Mandy

      I was going to risk sounding slightly cliched, and say that life is a series of small journeys... then I realised which video you were referring to, as this was a huge journey for us, for two reasons!
      Firstly because we went down to the Algarve for 2 weeks, and ended up staying 7 months 🤣😉
      Secondly because we hadn't heard of Rede Expressos at that time or their €5 advance sale tickets, so ended up getting taking Flixbus to Albufeira and then paying almost the same amount again to take a local bus to Portimão!
      It's amazing how much things have changed for us since then! ~ Mandy 😁😀

    OMGosh I cannot BELIEVE how cheap that bus ticket was! I'll be thinking twice about getting the train around Portugal from now on. The only thing is, I get sick on buses unless I solidly look out of the window so I can't get anything done for the whole journey other than admire the view.

    • @FrugalTravellers
      @FrugalTravellers  3 года назад

      That's such a bummer about getting bus sick... especially as REDE Express have started doing loads of daily €5 and €9.50 specials! We've finally booked to leave the Algarve... more on that later 😉, and it's costing us €10 to go all the way up north!

    • @FrugalTravellers
      @FrugalTravellers  3 года назад +2

      @Paul Rushton There are definitely worse places to be than the Algarve. We chose to go to Auschwitz the day it closed, 12 March 2020, and we were glad we did so as it was so eerie and barren, a very different experience than being there with tour buses and hordes of people. It was heartrending peering through the fence at Auschwitz-Birkenau and imagining the horrors that occurred there. We've been to several sites of atrocities in the past 3 years. I know those videos won't get many views but I think it's so important to remind people of what happened there.
