Burncycle has been a blast. Makes me wish that CTG had the chqnce to make a Metal Gear Solid game. They would knock it out of the park. Great to see them dropping expansion content in their upcoming gamefound campain. The gameplay/component quality at CTG is top knotch.
There goes Devon underestimating himself! xD You’re never useless! Thank you for this video, guys. I’m really considering picking this up. Checks a lot of boxes for me… We’ll see, depending on the overall price and shipping and VAT and all that. Keep on rocking
Squeak! Edit: To add some meat to the comment :D As per usual, very enjoyable video! I didn't back the initial burncycle campaign, but with gameplay coming out now and having a better grasp of how it plays, I'm very tempted to get it with the upcoming campaign. I own everything TMB already like CTG a lot, so it'll be hard to resist ^^
I would chip in if I was in a game group that was interested and someone else wanted a little help to lighten the load. But, without a dedicated group, I definitely can’t justify buying this in the hope that I’ll assemble some folks, someday. If it were more Ameritrash-like Monsterpocaylpse without the need to paint it, now we’re talking, but it would still probably be something I pass on. So, instead, I just look forward to another excellent play through from you all. And with that, Squeaks & Quacks 🐹 🦆
I have Burncycle on the way and happy I backed when I did. Everything is getting more expensive but Chip Theory’s shipping prices in the US are amazing. I know they’re subsidized by higher game prices but I’m okay with that knowing they keep that flat rate for everything you buy.
Cannot wait for the campaign! The answer to your questions about whether this is for me, enthusiastically yes! This one is definitely going to SQUEAK into the budget! And then comes Elder Scrolls…
I love this game already. I am in the middle of the first mission. My wife and I finished at Saturday the first floor of the tutorial mission and will soon start with the second floor.
Based on what CTG has said, their upcoming Elder Scrolls game will be TMB, but with a character you can build, and an actual map to navigate. It sounds like it is going to fill in the gaps in their games in an incredible way. Can't wait!
I thought about squeak ing this one into my TMB Unbreakable campaign, but I was already all in on that so I passed for the time being. Love the theme and stealth gameplay.
I have Burncycle in my cart but haven’t pulled the trigger yet. I love TMB but the set up and trying to remember keywords/abilities if you haven’t played in a couple weeks makes it hard for me to wanna dive back into again again. I think it will be easier when I have a dedicated gaming space and am able to leave a game like TMB set up. Does Burncycle have this issue has well or is it more accessible so far in that way?
I have gotten this to the table 3 times so far with two 3 floor missions and one 2 floor. The big surprise was getting my 14 niece to play through both 3 floors for a total time of 7 hours of play.
Other coverage of this game has said that a weak point about it is the randomness of setting up a scenario. Certain bots with certain challenges just don't work. They have suggested the game needs specified scenarios. Any thoughts from those who have played?
One thing that "other coverage" has been mistaken on is how random the setup is. You have full control over what mission you play, what bots you select, and what difficulty level you play on (there are 3 difficulty levels). Certainly you may make the game a bit more difficult for yourself if you randomly select bots without regard for team composition or strengths for the particular mission. And that can be a fun challenge for folks but not one that the rules mandate :)
This looks really nice. But… I bought TMB in December, backed Unbreakable, and have only tabled it 3x so far. So, I’ll watch the gameplay and reconsider then.
Probably in the minority here. Didn't find Burncycle nearly as engaging as other Chip Theory titles. Sold my copy with no regrets. It's the easiest as far accessibility is concerned but not my favorite experience. Not really sure why I didn't enjoy it. Cloudspire is probably their best title but the hardest to get into. TMB is my favorite by far.
I don't dislike the Network, but I do dislike the lack of agency it presents. It would be significantly more useful - and interesting - if 1) Network cards were easier to acquire, or 2) they persisted until they are fulfilled or purposefully discarded. As it is, it's usually a "well, I don't have anything else to do" situation, and it's rare that the card you draw can be accomplished that turn. That's neither useful nor interesting, and more often than not feels like a wasted action. I HATE the threat meter. It advances WAY to gd fast and is damn near impossible to control and is out of keeping with stealth video games. I wish the rooms were numbered on the back, and the Floor Plan book used that numbering.
I've only played one game where the threat meter even mattered. But, I agree that the Network is the weak point. I don't know what the designer and playtesters were getting out of the mechanisms there that kept it in the game. It's just an extra thing to do, but it's never an interesting thing to do. I still really enjoy the game, because it's one of the few complex infiltration games that focus almost entirely on stealth. I'll take dealing with one superfluous mechanism for the rest. But, that's kind of how I feel about all CTG games. They make games that I'd rate an 8, but there's always some design feature that makes the gameplay a bit too clunky to reach a 10.

Noooo! Noooo more content to pledge for! 😭💸
Yeah totally agree! My first thought Was also Metal gear solid

A wild hamster appears!
@@DevonTalksTabletop The wild Hamster used Hype. It's super effective!

The squeak summons the hamster cult.
Looking forward to the playthrough video guys

When CTG launches their Elder Scrolls game, it will make a huge wave. I can’t wait
More companies need to explore this theme.... This looks great, but I don't have an extra table to leave it out for a month... lol
I so want this, gonna back it when it comes back on gamefound, I feel like I'll have to wait a year for it though
I’m really hoping that CTG’s Elder Scrolls is everything I want Too Many Bones to be.
Ugh, I bought this through the Unbreakable campaign so I have to wait a little extra time for it to arrive. Looks so fun!

I suspect their Elder Scrolls game might be a good combination of TMB style and mechanics, and Burncycle dungeon crawl.
@@seansmith2650 It's in the vein of dungeon crawls.
i think i want to get cloudspire first but its hard not to want to pick up a game from chip theory
Been loving this game. Such a fun puzzle
Kevin are you giving this to the community as well?? I'm joking! Great video guys
Ty for the video

lets be strong and wait for Elder scrolls...but this looks just so awesome...argh
