This is an old but good drill. Cannot believe i got away from it but i may not have been doing it correctly. In any event i really appreciate the clear and detailed discussion of its nuances and will watch a couple more times to make sure i have a handle on it. Thanks for this.
Hi from the UK, Kerrod. Wow, two of my favourite YTers together!! I struggle with lower/upper body separation. Such an easy drill to practice. Thanks again for the great content.
I think this is a fantastic drill. Where I struggle is when the hands and arms come more into it. Do you have any other suggestions when involving the club and ball?
One aspect of the tilting motion not mentioned is adding a slight external rotation of the right shoulder to facilitate range of motion of tilt for more power as you rotate upper body alignment stick to clash with lower body alignment stick. Added external rotation of right shoulder also adds stretch to lead arm across the chest for more power..
We get stuck because we can’t get onto the front foot…the shift is the difficult part, it’s easy to get the sequencing, side-bend, and extension if we can get the front foot shift. What’s required to get the SHIFT? Bigger hip turn? This drives me carazyzyzy!
But how does one make this backswing effortless. I feel mechanical almost. Like the shoulder turn back is fine. Coming down and through I feel cramped.
great lesson, thanks guys
Welcome!
Wow one of the best lessons I’ve seen. Love to see you guys teach golf, perfect combo.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Many Thanks 👍

Have you seen the recent JCHOWN videos with his towel drill? Seems to nicely complement this video.

@11:14 What you said about the reflexing of the knees, that is never talked about, that would be a good video to go more in detail with.

Great tips

Great drill Guys thank you. Important question, is this the same for the Driver swing? I tend to over shift with the Driver.
Great great Video. Sticks length, please? 120 cm? Thanks
What would be a similar drill for ‘block and hook’?
Man, I'm so inflexible that it was hard to get to two alignment sticks to touch!

I hate to say...but we've seen this drill hundreds of times from other instructors.
