These course used to be called World Wood Golf Club. Played there several times long ago. In the middle of nowhere. One course was built to look like Augusta National and the other like Pine Valley. Fantastic courses. Great practice facilities. The biggest practice putting green ever. You could play all day for very low fees. I am sure they lost money for a long time. Great to see them coming back. Look forward to the round. And great to see you playing with Erik. Great guy. Love his videos.

Open fairways with wild greens is my favorite type of course. Have fun just taking a rip off the tee, but then really challenge yourself with approach and short game shots. Just so much better than tight fairways and boring greens -- where you spend half the round looking for your ball in the trees, and every chip/putt looks the same.

Cabot! I thought it was the same group but the Cabot courses in Nova Scotia Canada (Cabot Links and Cabot Cliffs) are amazing. They are in the middle of nowhere, but absolutely worth the trip

Great video. Sad to hear that World Woods is no longer....Played there and competed in tournaments there in late 90s early 00's. Loved Pine Barrens. Looks like very similar routing though without all of the trees that used to be there.

EAL is one of my favourite RUclipsrs of all time. His Adventures in Golf is truly awesome content. Grant IS my favorite RUclipsr. So seeing these guys together makes me beyond happy. Thanks for the amazing content as always Grant. Appreciate you!!!
PS: As a Canadian, Cabot in Nova Scotia is one of the top courses in the world. Not a single dime wasted if you can ever find your way there.
And us Canadians would be happy to have ya brother. 👊

22:10 Grant man, some people just say they appreciate things. And with others you can tell they mean it. I think your audience knows you mean it. You come across very genuine and I think at the end of the day that’s the main thing that resonates with people. Obviously you and your team have other great qualities too (content, production, killer golf game, some humor all that stuff) and seem like great people, but I think if I had to pick one quality it’s just that.
Enjoy it man and remember to never look a gift horse in the mouth. Best regards from NY

Previously known as World Woods, Phil Mickelson shot a course record 63 in 2002. Fast forward to 2017, Michael Finster shot a 62. Then in 2024 it turns into Cabot Citrus Farms. Growing up near this course was very underrated appreciate. Seeing what it has turned into, makes it that much more exciting to travel back home and play it.

Very important point made there about a course having playability. How many of us have worked hard, scrimped and saved for a holiday and when we hot the golf course we hit the odd stray shot, get punished and end up feeling let down. If this is going to be a resort course or even one for residents it is going to succeed as it allows players of all abilities to go out and play some golf and enjoy it and the scores won't be determined by a harsh course. The prices also look very good for what will be an excellent venue in a corner of Florida many would not know about.

World Woods was so sweet. Both Pine Barrens and Rolling Oak were excellent and I was sad to see them go. But after watching this I’m excited for the new courses!

This place used to called "World Woods" I played there quite a few times. 36 holes of Tom Fazio design. Worth every penny of the cost to play.

@granthorvatgolf I’m supplying the appliances to all those cottages you highlighted. I was able to play it before the course was open to the public. Kept getting lost because they didn’t even have cart paths yet. Can’t wait to go back!!

You are #1 right now in this game brother and I am so happy for you. Wish you lots more success and happiness! 👍 Glad I can tag along for the ride! 😊

I played World Woods a handful of times back in the day and the pine barrens course was a great track. It looks like the re-design is stunning from tee to green......but I have no idea why they felt the need to "trick" up the greens with huge mounds and swells. The average golfer hates that putt putt style. It makes for a miserable round especially when its a destination course that you dont play often and cant "learn" all the bumps and humps. From what I have seen on this video so far I wont be making the trip to play it. So thanks Grant 🙂 it saves me money and a trip. Love watching your content though!!!! Its AWESOME!!

I really like courses like this. With the crazy big greens. It keeps it fair and tough for good golfers and makes fair for your average golfers. Lot easier for them to have 70 foot putt than chip or bunker etc. they need more courses like this playable for all and you have a smile the whole round.

I’ve driven past this golf course dozens of times over the last 10 years, but it never struck me as anything different from the thousands of golf courses in the Greater Tampa/Orlando area. It’s looks so unique and tucked away in sleepy Citrus Co.
