IMPORTANT POINTS -------------->
(!) Zinc, cadmium and mercury are colourless because :-
-->They have fully filled d-orbital
-->No unpaired electron is present
-->No d-d transition is possible .
(2)Transition elements which show only one oxidation state - Scandium .
(3)In 3d series which element has the highest oxidation state - Manganese .
(4)In D-Block , Which element has the highest oxidation state - Osmium , it shows +8 oxidation state .
(5)Diamagnetic - When there is fully filled d-orbital , no unpaired electrons is present . Then it is diamagnetic . In Diamagnetic meu =0(always) .
(6)Paramagnetic - When d-orbitals are not fully filled , unpaired electrons are present . Then it is Paramagnetic .
(7)Formula f0or Magnetic moment(denoted by meu) = root n(n+2) .
