For the AQI sensor, add a fan - it makes sure there is a constant flow of 'fresh' air moving over it to be more accurate and responsive.
Doesn't have to be fast - just consistently moving airflow.
That's a good idea and I wish I had thought a bit more about air flow. I'm wondering if the convection from the heat produced by the components would be enough if I added some holes in the bottom and top 🤔 something I will have to think about for the future! Thanks for your comment!
@@makeit4lessand old trick I used to use .... not ideal for this size... but maybe?
It was for temp monitoring in green-houses.
What you do is get like a 1-2m black 32mm-50mm+ pipe - add a temp sensor in the middle of the pipe - and hang it up.
Because of the size, and absorption - it would create quite a draft of decently accurate air - and if you added a lil fan (to measure wind speed) - you could really have an accurate UV/temp/humidity/feel for what is going on :)
Would have loved to see a little showcase of the flower doing it's thing at the end.
I intended too but unfortunately ran out of time 😝
Loving these videos! Easy to follow, yet full of cool information, with a bit of humor! Thank you, really enjoyed! :D
Haha that exactly describes what my goal was!
Really appreciate your videos!
Thanks! Im glad you liked it!
Great video - really enjoyed it!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice 👍
Thanks ✌
This is a really good idea (and is presented well.) Is there any issue with putting sensor inside the pot? I worry that it’d make the reading lag significantly compared to the rest of the room.
That's an excellent point. I did not notice issues in my testing but maybe a V2 will have some holes for air flow. Thanks for the idea!
I build one and can tell there is a difference if the sensor is inside the pot or have a hole to get the air from outside. I remixed the pot to have a with a little cutout for the sensor. I also changed it to use it with a esp8266 and added a BME280 sensor. now i have a temp sensor and co2 sensor in my homeassitante and the nice flower as a visible indicator :)
Great video as always! Keep it up
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Like the idea.
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed
the repo link is not working for me :(
Whoops the repo was private 😝 I fixed it and you should be able to access now
@@makeit4less yeah its working now thank you let me build one too :)
