Well, not really. Maybe 10 years ago but now .. "the money" got to RUclips as well. I think to even stay in the algorithm you need to post at least one video a day, so what happens is people post garbage. You really haven't noticed that change?
Not going to lie, I do miss the Tom Brokaw/Peter Jennings/Dan Rather era of broadcasting, or at least those three specifically. It's probably mostly childhood nostalgia, but they were great broadcasters as well.
To his (and News Nation's) credit, Abrams was one of the few independent voices on legacy media. Even with ABC I noticed his legal analysis frequently threw cold water on mainstream narratives about how viable different lawsuits were and how evidence could be construed. It sometimes seemed to bum out his network colleagues but better the truth than perpetuating the bubble. If anything his contributions were probably undervalued. Also, Lncoln's Last Trial book he coauthored is pretty great too.
No one needs to tell people directly what to say. Everyone knows what the legitimate dance steps are, just like the quid pro quos that sashay with political contributions.
As a life long lib who watches CNN and MSNBC (less so these days) you all are correct that I don’t want to watch Scott Jennings on CNN but that’s because what I am looking for is someone on the right who his an honest broker with an informed conservative analysis and not a right wing operative who’s just there to spread the latest right wing talking point and propaganda. ❤BTW I feel the same way about lib guest. I want a lib who shoots it’s straight. My problem with CNN and MSNBC is there is too much “champagne popping” going on about how the right is going to lose and getting destroyed meanwhile they keep winning and the dems are blowing it. That’s why I like Dave Axelrod and guest like him.
You have perfectly summed up my exact feelings about the landscape of cable news. And the MSNBC hosts are still doing their usual smug stick even after losing the election!!
A: Because random podcasters on RUclips are more trustworthy than CNN, MSNBC and most of the legacy media. Sad truth.
Truth

When Lester Holt said that "fairness is overrated," he was cheered on by legacy media. They earned the title "fake news."
No more Corp media control thank goodness.

This video has only 1,600 views in 24 hours. Says it all really.
Dan sounds a little disengenious
Msms they all are unwatchable. No matter what side you like to listen to.

For my own mental wellbeing, I quit watching legacy media as we entered the pandemic.

people are cutting the cable
Me too!!!
Rachel Madow got her start on Tuckers MSNBC show!
It’s media that’s on-demand, short and pithy, (mostly) non-biased, honest, and trustworthy.
RUclips podcasts are extremely biased. They make sure the 'news' they cover pleases thier audience. Almost none of it is trustworthy.
I now follow Dan on News Nation (YT)
Can it be that he really doesn't know? Dan, Remember this one? Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on ME.
It’s already all happened.

You are too far gone. God Bless.
Who would be an example of an informed honest conservative then? Let me guess Rick Wilson Lol.
Because people like BS better than good journalism.
