- After experiencing the common CVT vibration/shudder issue i attempted to fix the issue with great success and saved approx.$150 as most of the garages quoted from $200-250 where as the OEM CVTF from Honda costed me $102.95.

I like the idea of jacking up the right side of the car (I did that the first time I changed the CVTF), but I found that it got so much fluid out that the standard 3.5 L pack was not enough to properly refill it, and I had to go out and buy another 1 L pack.
You should put in the XADO 120 Revitalizant to stop the shudders for good. It's only 8ml of the product and its made for CVTs and eliminates the shudder.
It looks like a regular engine oil change.

Hi from another kiwi nice video i'm going to do the same to my honda fit give it a cvt oil change as mind is also doing the vibration and shuddering brought my genuine honda cvt oil on trade me as well as XADO 12O Revitalizant hopefully it will eliminate the problem i was thinking of getting a toyota vitz but the honda fit has much better luggage room and seems quicker than the vitz when you compare them both.

If the shudders come again, I recommend you the XADO Revitalizant EX120 for automatic transmissions(CVT). Believe me all the shuddres gone for good. I'm not link and affliated with XADO of any kind. This is my experienced with the product.
that product made my 2007 honda jazz's seal crankshaft transmission to leak and costing me $300 to replace. I recommend just take to the honda dealer and ask for a complete throttle body clean and a transmission oil change. only costs $50 and fixed my shudders.

I'd wager they weren't cleaning the throttle body and/or changing the $100 (on special) 3.5litres of CVT fluid plus labor for $50.
Where is the filter placed?
thanks for your video. There are CVT's sold in the market but not Honda brand but made in Japan. Are they reliable?

How can you explain that indication that says " do not use for in automatic transmission"
conventional auto transmission use ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) and CVT (Continoiusly Variable Transmission) gearbox use CVTF (Continoiusly Variable Transmission Fluid) or HCF-2.
ATF cannot interchange with CVTF.

That wasn’t a flush. It was just a fluid change.
My car isn't doing well if I rave it just raves high and the speedometer doesn't go beyond 30km/hr and it sort of runs more on downhill areas only what is the problem it doesn't seem to engage gears well anymore pls help Honda fit 2006

There is an external trans fluid filter which looks like a high pressure EFI in line filter...... that lives under the battery tray...
Taking out the airbox also gives you a lot more working room

This is not a flush, this is a drain and fill. The $250 they quoted you was for an actual flush which is removing ALL of the fluid and purging the CVT and replacing with all new fluid. The drain and fill you did only replaces a portion of the fluid.
Can you make a video on how to fully flush a CVT Transmission?

Cunningly measured to be exactly right for the trans being partially drained using this method....
and not tipping the car further to encourage more fluid than the 3.5l to leave the trans...
which actually holds far more fluid than this "change" amount...
Did you get all the material/tools from Dollar tree? Walmart has some tools for moderately cheap that are a little better than that lol. They come with a lifetime warranty even if they are s*****.

This shudder is what's happening to mine, there is no way I'll be able to fix this myself lol, Do you know how much it would cost to be fixed by a garage x
Cheryl Buckley yeah its start off with a shudder and could be easily fixed by changing CVT fluid and using OEM Honda CVT fluid. I'm from NZ and they quoted me $220 not sure in your country cheers.
One garage in Auckland charged me $460 for a Honda fluid change. Fucking regret going there.

Hi guys ... Which one is better Amsoil CVT or HMMF ? For honda fit 2005 transmission , it's avtomatic, variation .... It has vibrations after 18000 km .
Hi Aluda I dont have any experience with those mentioned fluids but if you not using OEM fluids please ask you local auto part dealer which is the best/suitable alternative thanks.

My car's cvtf change was done by honda dealership. But i noticed after an hour of driving, the fluid level on dipstic is higher than the upper dot. Is it ok?
Hi Ronald, have you checked the level when the car was or hot or cold ? Theres usually a min/max mark or dot for both hot and cold from memory cheers.

I used 4L to my jazz idsi..
I was quoted 350$ for a fluie change..
Apologies for the late one but a mechanics quoted me around the $250 mark and i just saved $150 (Fluid cost $100 inlc gst) doing it myself...
Is the vibration from the CVT normal? Mine has it too and it seems it needs a CVTF change. And may I ask how many liters does the transmission need? Thanks
Hi there @Louie.C thanks for watching, Yes its a common issue with the Fit and no its not normal to vibrate, I suggest you change your CVT fluid as in the video, ive used from memory 3.5l or so thanks

Hey man, what color is that CVTF fluid? I got mine in 1 quart bottles and it's a light reddish color, but I know Honda also makes a yellow CVT fluid called HCF-2. Trying to figure out if I put in the right stuff. Thanks!
Jordan Sell the OEM one I used in the video is sort of a pale pinkish colour which is recommended but I suggest to be 100% sure please refer to the owners manual.

My owners manual says CVTF but the stuff I got spells out "continuously variable transmission fluid" unlike yours that actually says "CVTF" so I assumed it was the same. It's the same color so I think I'm good. Someone on a forum tried saying it should be a yellow color which made me worried, but I think he's wrong
