@@TBATB Daredevil Born Again Batman Year One Ronin Gallery Edition - All three contain the complete stories. (Obviously I'm a huge Miller fan) Honorable Mention: Walt Simonson's Manhunter John Byrne's Fantastic Four Jack Kirby's (2) FF Volumes as well as his New Gods (which was my first AE)
I have this edition as well. It is incredible. I have a few artist editions, but this is one of the largest ones, if not THE largest one (Star Wars Empire Strikes Back is pretty big also). I wish I could own more, but they are expensive and they are tough to find space for. I have one shelf that they all go on and the shelf above them had to be moved WAY up to accommodate them. But they are beautiful and this one is absolutely the best one they have done so far.
This is going to be a must-have addition... I preferred the new coloring in the absolute. For some strange reason, it "seemed" easier for me to read lol.
I think colors definitely make something easier to read, but with this book it’s more about admiring the art in the size. He actually drew that so it’s perfect.
Gonna buy this soon. Its actually cheaper in India. Less than a 100usd. The best batman story. P.S. humbly requesting you to look into the pronunciation of Mazzucchelli. Would be greatly appreciated.
My advice is eventually you’re gonna want the full set so choose the format that be consistent across the board if you’re gonna get all the deluxe additions do deluxe if you’re only gonna want the trade paper back of the sequel do the trade paper back
Go back to the overhead shots please. You seem to have a better grasp of your use of time within those segments and have formulated your thoughts to be more succinct. I feel like a small part of the problem of why your overhead shots didn't retain viewership was because of you being novice and not having your thoughts fully collected as you were going through it.
I appreciate your honest feedback! Are you completely against any B-roll shots that are scans from the book? Or do you only like overhead shots? I think both have a benefit.
@@TBATB No I like both, I think it's up to you to decide where one should be used primarily over the other, but I felt that you opting to do away with overhead shots as a whole was a mistake. Also great video, this was my favorite purchase this year, and I honestly had no clue IDW's production for these art books was just as amazing as the graffiti editions (and BIGGER).
Yeah, I didn’t mean to say that I would stop doing overhead shots completely. It just meant that I wanted to experiment a little bit with different styles of video but I think I have a better grasp now on what the audience wants. As always, thanks for your feedback.
Okay. So, I'm probably going to be the only critical comment on this video, but... Year One is a masterpiece. Let's make that clear. But when you are comparing editions and making it seem like this is an edition to READ, I feel like it's wrong. This is an ARTIST EDITION. It's meant to showcase the amazing art, not to be read as a graphic novel. If you want that, get the Absolute Edition, or the recent facsimile editions of all four issues, or whatever random edition of it DC has out this week. Besides that, love your enthusiasm, and especially your comment that Frank is the best and worst writer of Bruce. But the same could be said about Bill Finger.
That’s fair! When I say read I also mean admire the art! But I’m sorry if it seemed like I bought this issue for the story. This book is all about the art but it was all the words and is the full story so you get to read it too!
💯 Agreed! Quite possibly the best singular book the comic industry has ever produced, no hyperbole
It doesn’t even feel like a comic. It feels like a piece of art and history. It’s the greatest book in my collection.
@@TBATBbtw, congratulations on 1 million views! Well-deserved 😎
Oh thank you so much! It blows my mind
Thanks for the shout out! Great video! You really show off how beautiful this book is!
Great overview!! I’m tempted to buy this now, if I have the budget it for it. 😊 I was hoping you’d tell us why we were never meant to see this. 😄💙👍🏼
Haha it’s a quote from the artist about how you were never meant to see this book before it was colored
After this video I need to reread this book
Right?!?!?!
The scale of this book is just baffling. Loved getting to get a look at it. Great stuff as always TBATBs!
It really is! It’s a treasure!
I love this thing, but not sure how to display it haha. I own this, the Goon, and the Rocketeer artist editions. They are phenomenal.
Which one is your favorite?
Awesome! There should be a new format above Absolute, the Absolutely Absolute Edition! Imagine Jim Lee art in this size!
They had a special version of this case, but it was way too expensive
Great video I got this. Beautiful art. In my top 5 Batman stories.
Thank you so much friend!
I have a lot (too many?) books in this format. This is instantly one of my favorites. Top 3 easily.
What are your top 3?

Sorry! I will work on saying it better in the future!
Which edition of long Halloween should I buy tpb or deluxe edition
I would say deluxe or omnibus.
My advice is eventually you’re gonna want the full set so choose the format that be consistent across the board if you’re gonna get all the deluxe additions do deluxe if you’re only gonna want the trade paper back of the sequel do the trade paper back
Where did you get your book shelves???? 😗
IKEA Kallax !
@@TBATB awesome!!! Thank you!!!
Fix the order of those Morrison's Batman omnibues. It's an order.
I’m gonna put it in a more wrong order each video from now on just to keep bugging you

Mixture of shots is best!

Hey, this was the artists words not me
