Thank you Tony for such a lovely story of the pain of loss. This year I lost 4 men in my life, this is my first year without my husband. I gave myself your book, Christmas ghost stories for Christmas.
Such a beautiful story, especially for those of us that that have almost no family left with whom to celebrate the holidays. These stories are keeping me company and I love them all ❤ Thank you Tony.
One day I'll actually manage to listen to the 50mns to 1hr + stories all the way through, but inevitably I end falling asleep and going back to where I nodded off the day before. I blame your extraordinary voice everytime. Very calming and soporific. Keep up the good work.
Fortunately, the Web gives talented creators a platform when a gallery, publisher or record label won't. Keep doing what you're doing, Tony. We're enjoying every minute of it. May 2022 bring you greater success. 🍾
finding something to live for after all his sorrow was like a Christmas miracle. you must be very romantic (like the particular literary genre) to visualize the married couple like that. happy christmas.
I believe there are a few reasons that humans have long been attracted to ghost stories, and one of them, surely, is that they can be a source of great comfort in times of grief. This one really captures that element beautifully, and I found it so consoling and comforting. Tony, I found your stories in a time of grief (late 2019-early 2020), and now I'm freshly grieving again. This one is one of my favorites of all. Your stories are SUCH a gift. They've gotten me through many nights and brought comfort and joy to my days and nights both. Thank you, thank you. I hope you had a happy Christmas, and I wish you and yours a 2022 full of delightful moments and joyful surprises.
Oh my goodness, what a lovely story. So lovely, I am going to listen a 2nd time. The holiday just passed was Valentine's Day. This story was actually perfect for Valentine's Day. I live in the woods and it is a snowy foggy night. I saw a herd of deer bound away and disappear into into the woods earlier. So this story is uncannily like my surroundings tonight.
Great to see your face. Two years later. A lot of water under the bridge since then. Feels like 20 years. Really enjoy your work, Tony. Helps me through some rough times. Thanks so much.
I love this story thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart I am grieving the loss of a fiance who died suddenly and unexpectedly. And this comforted me Thank you so very mu much Bright Blessings to you Merry Christmas to you, Sir 🤗 Toniette Holden Florida, United States
Great story and narration! You are a fantastic author. The way you write and talk about time strikes a chord in me. I feel the same way. I think you describe and express it perfectly, especially regarding our memories. Who needs a camera! We are never alone. We always have the images of the time we spent and the memories with us forever. Thanks for writing this true gem! It is like a sparkling snowflake. Yes, this is a great Christmas story! Oh, your writing is not rubbish. It is rather far from it. I love your stories. Anyone who says otherwise can go play marbles in the road.
I very much appreciate this beautiful story. So many of us have lost...so many. I smiled at the thought that we never leave each other when there is love between us. Thank you so much.
What a lovely gift to have on Christmas Eve! Such a beautiful tale that so suits my mood as the year's end approaches. Do have a happy Christmas and thanks for all your work. It's really helped to make 2021 bearable.
Liked this Christmas story. I live in constant fear of loosing my daughter who’s had leakemia on & off since she was 3 years old. Found this comforting as this fear has been with me for 30 years. But I have so many wonderful memories, those words from Wordsworth are my favourite. Wish you & your family a Very Happy Christmas 🎄🌈🍀♥️🎄🦋🦄⛄️🌹 Your words are so true, remember the guy that turned down the Beatles😁
I am honestly blown away by the response to this story. It was a man called Gary Johnson who looked at my first draft and gave suggestions to improve it lots. So I owe Gary.
A lovely little ghost story to read on rainy/snowy Christmas Day in Oregon. I think I’ve read every ghost story ever written (the classics anyway) so it’s always nice to find new ones. I Love listening to you read all the stories even though I know the endings. So it was a treat to hear a new one and then find out you wrote it!! How cool is that…keep it up and keep posting them. Glad to hear it’s been a good year for you in spite of all the downsides in this world….me too! Have a mostly ghostly 2022…😎msbrown
They say that writers should use the facts of their lives in their writing, but I always believe that they aren't supposed to use *all* of it, just bits and pieces, they way you do. And you have a golden pen. Happy New Year.
Thank you Tony ! What a beautiful bittersweet story . You have a great gift and write from the heart . I hope you realize how much this touches your audience . Cheers and all the best for 2022 ! Happy Christmas 🌲
Just my son and I this holiday, and I spent entirely too much time drinking out of sorrow. I vow today not to touch a drop until I am out of this blue funk. I do understand how dangerous it is to try to drown sorrow in alcohol -- but sometimes the danger itself feels like the solution. Thanks for a lovely story.
Mr. Walker, My first listen but surely not my last. I enjoyed your story and it touched the grief in me as well. The quotes from Words worth were lovely also. Far beyond Christmas now, but I offer you a belated wish for warmth, family and friends, and all the success you richly deserve. God bless us all.
You’ve have given me a Christmas gift in this story. Thank you Tony. I lost my life love four years ago this Boxing Day. I know he’s not really “lost” as you so beautifully say. I’m an American, and regrettably was not able to see the Lake District when in England. Perhaps someday I can visit. Your stories and voice are very cathartic for me. Happy New Year Tony! Keep well and best wishes. Xxx
Hi Cindy, I am sorry for your loss. I'm only glad if my story was some comfort. Take care. Like Wordsworth i believe that nothing is lost that won't be found
This story really speaks to me, as many of your stories do. I am definitely guilty of being alone by choice. Mostly it's ok, but I do have an enormous amount of ambivalence on the subject. After being the oldest of 5 children, then raising 4 boys, the luxury of being able to do what I like, when I like, with no one to take care of but the dogs, is lovely. But the price is high. Thank you so much, Tony, your stories, some of which I listen to like a favorite song, have done so much for my quality of life. Thank you, also for your channel recommendations, through you I also discovered Mr. Lestrange and HorrorBabble. These days, the tv is on, but on mute!

Very much enjoyed your tale of a man left alone at Christmas, hits very close to home this year. Taking your characters' words very much to heart. Thank you for this one, and a very Merry Christmas to you.
Beautifully touching and touchingly beautiful. I love Cumbria and know the setting. I lived briefly by a lake near Cockermouth and it was a deeply healing experience for me at one of the most difficult times of my life. Thank you so much for all you do, Tony. You have, indeed, a golden pen and a golden voice.
@@ClassicGhost Oh bless! I used to get the dial-a-ride into Cockermouth once or twice a week, for shopping and to send text messages as there was no mobile signal at Loweswater. Just love this story! Even though pretty early I knew about the silver -haired rider, I didn't expect the rest and I love being able to be surprised. Thank you for the beautiful imagery and the Truth shared. I teach psychic development, and one night a new student came with a girlfriend, and in introducing herself admitted she was still grieving over the death of her father because she didn't get to say goodbye. I said "You didn't have to say goodbye because he's still with you. Did your Dad have a certain way of putting his hand on you?" (I know how this sounds but bear with me.) She looked stunned and turned to her girlfriend and said "She had NO WAY of knowing that!". Then she turned back to me and said "YES!" I told her not to tell me anything else yet. "Did he used to put his right hand on your left shoulder up toward your neck and give it a squeeze like he's saying "That's my girl, way to go!" Her eyes grew even bigger, her face turned red, and she AGAIN turned and said to her friend "SHE HAD NO WAY OF KNOWING THAT!" She looked at me and said, through tears, "YES, HOW DID YOU KNOW THAT?!" I smiled and answered "Because he's standing on your right and he's doing exactly that. You didn't need to say goodbye because he's still with you, watching over you, loving you. No more grieving over the loss because you didn't lose him. Just tell him THANK YOU and feel free to talk to him as you need and want. He knows you love him." So you see, Tony, that's what I mean by the Truth in your story. Thank you again!❤ May you be blessed as you obviously bless so many by your ghost story writing and sharing!

"Did he used to put his right hand on your left shoulder up toward your neck and give it a squeeze like he's saying "That's my girl, way to go!"
Her eyes grew even bigger, her face turned red, and she AGAIN turned and said to her friend "SHE HAD NO WAY OF KNOWING THAT!"
She looked at me and said, through tears, "YES, HOW DID YOU KNOW THAT?!"
I smiled and answered "Because he's standing on your right and he's doing exactly that. You didn't need to say goodbye because he's still with you, watching over you, loving you. No more grieving over the loss because you didn't lose him. Just tell him THANK YOU and feel free to talk to him as you need and want. He knows you love him."
So you see, Tony, that's what I mean by the Truth in your story.
Thank you again!❤
May you be blessed as you obviously bless so many by your ghost story writing and sharing!

Merry Christmas ! 🎄
Heading into New Years Eve 2021-22. So pleased to have found your channel. The story you wrote and read is lovely.
The added nuggets of background, about high tea at the hotel, and collecting wood for pensioners, adds to the warmth of the story.
Happy 2022 from western Canada. And Good health and good fortune to accompany
