Tomoko Takahashi piano
Giovanni Bottesini Grande Allegro 'alla Mendelssohn'.
Recorded live in Berlin Philharmonie Kammermusiksaal November 2014
Incredible artistry!
Excellent playing. But I would like to point out something about the pianist. She is excellent as well and please have a look to what she does when Matthew is playing the Candenza. She is LISTENING. That's what an excellent musician does and, unfortunately, you won't find this seriousness of work and behavior as often as needed.
Bravo both players!
Os Rub totally agree with you, i have years trying to find a good pianist and it's really sad and disapointing after all this time i have not
A revolution in the bass sound! Amazing!
Amazing skill and detail. I love his playing and this recording! Good job piano too!
Did he actually do the ending up the D string? That's incredible! I haven't seen anyone else doing that. This version is amazing. Both the piano and the bass have outstanding articulation and the sound is very light and careless. Truly amazing playing!
It’s actually easier on the d string, since after the high D almost every note is a harmonic on the D
Nice combination!
The sound is very comfortable and the piece proceeds smoothly.
Mathew is the principal contrabassist of Berlin Philh.
Just amazing!!!! Thank you for share sir.
Muito lindo ...perfeito. ...
inspiração pra alma pra mente e pro aprendizado. .
Fantastic performance, i love how you took your time on the passages, your version and the one joel quarrington recorded are the best. Regards.
Beatiful playing Matthew🎉
So light and easy going... LOVE IT!
Big fan both of your solo and orchestra playing!!!
This is inspiring me to start learning the bass!!!

Amazing!
excelent Matthew !!!!
great performance just wish i could hear more of the bass, especially towards the end when he was doing his amazing runs.
Das ist wunderbar !!!
Bravo! Your performance brightened and warmed an otherwise cold, rainy Monday morning. Please post more. Thank you! Your instrument speaks so clearly across the entire range (and then some). Please, who is the maker, date of construction (string manufacturer/gage and tuning too if you don't mind)?
Amazing. And I concur re the pianist - she is also amazing - and fully engaged with the performance.
Chingon (perfec ) 🎶🎶🎶😻😻😻😻🎶🎶🎶🎶

superb playing, well done ! PLease, tell me, which bass do you play ? It looks very familiar to me
👏👏👏👏
Lindo
Maestro McDonald, what strings are you using in this piece?...greetings!
judjing by the colour they look like pirastro flexocor (deluxe?)
👏👏👏🔥
Great Matthew!!! Im in that now, what brand of strings are you playing???
👍👍
Faltou melhor sonoridade no Double Bass está com pouca intensidade. A peça musical é muito bonita.
Maybe a little too fast
very, very good and beautiful tecnicque and sound. Perhaps a little bit too much fast, Bottesini want a very melodic approach and consequent tempo, more a MAESTOSO caracter. Anyway, great bassist!

yo my friend has the same name as you. more gay though/
A bit underwhelming
You couldn’t play it with intensity near this lol
@@gregoryf4186 it sounds bad
@@Anonymous-rp4hn you play it then lol
I mean, I have to disagree. I feel like the only possible way you could think this is if you played some other instrument then the bass, or just dislike the bass in general. 7:53 might be one of my favorite parts of any solo music that I have listened to.
@@gregoryf4186 does the piece sound bad to you, or just the player?
this is rather boring version of this consert, nice playing though
woah
Fantastic !
AMAZING!!!!!!! :)
Bravo!
