Good review pal and thanks for showing us around, I might have to try this one as we’ve already tried Mr.Baz a couple of times and really enjoyed that one, the price seems on point with other places, I did see somewhere this new place goes off hight instead of age for the younger ones which I don’t get or have they changed that since opening pal

I hadn’t realised it was on height, just checked 155cm, which seeing that you are sat down when you pay, that’s going to be good to measure.
Not been to Mr.Baz for years will have to try.
If you ever tried Red Hot World Buffet, Umami is similar to that.

@ yeah seemed a bit odd with measurements and I’ve never been red hot world buffet, my next visit to Blackpool I’m trying an Indian place but the next time I might be trying Umami

They charge more than the other buffets. Mr Basrais is £15-00 for lunch and the Gurkha only opens in the evening and costs £18-00 week days and £20-00 week ends.
I have seen on the Umami web site that they impose a service charge. How on earth can they do that when you serve yourself? The only other self serve buffet who tried that was Cosmo in Liverpool who said the charge is because they clear away the empty plates. I told them a 5 year old could do that and not what i call service. I refused to pay it and would refuse to pay it in this place.
There is also Bon Pan Asian in Liverpool and Tops in Manchester, but my favourites are still Mr Basrais and The Gurkha.

I’ve not been to Mr Basaris for over 5 years, as the quality had dropped. I’m told it’s much better now, so will be trying it again.
The Gurka is mainly eastern food, and would now need to question the cleanliness after a recent incident that was reported

I’m more concerned that it doesn’t go the way of the Chinese Buffet.
I’ve not been to Mr Basari’s for years, but from what I can remember, the two places have a completely different vibe.
I do intend to give Mr Basari’s another go to see what it’s like now.

Um are you nuts? 1 prawn, 2 meatballs! Come on your paying for that, bloody hell mun, get your money's worth, your doing it all wrong. No point doing a review for that amount! Go back and do it properly, nobody can get a good idea from that. Sorry but that just was a waste of money and time

I didn’t want to over fill the plates and try as much as many types as possible..
Starter, Chinese, Indian, loaded burger, sushi, Italian and desert
I don’t normally do prawns, but have to say while I only had one, I enjoyed it. Light flesh and the salt and pepper sauce was bang on.
Bigger plate fulls next time, just not as many varieties.
      Where do you recommend?
