The more accurate historical figure akin to Daeron the conqueror is Napoleon fighting the peninsular war. Napoleon had a similarly short reign, did indeed conquer Spain and Portugal, suffered heavy attrition to guerilla warfare and constant uprisings. Led to his ultimate demise( or at least, the demise of his empire).
Tbh, all these takes are good. I actually like what you version of Visenya would be, and I've never liked the Maester Conspiracy theory, so no complaints here.

@Insider887 except the prophecy came from George not the show this was already confirmed forever ago , George also hinted that aegon knew about the long night and that it was a factor behind his conquest, it's not a unnecessary addition not does it contradict anything we already know all it does is give aegon a motivation to conquer westaros .
My favourite "evil girl boss dany" moment was when she decided to kill Doreah and Xaro and then decided to loot the city that helped her. Doreah died in the redwaste, xaro is gay (meaning he has no intrest in doeah) and he is very much still alive and Quarth is safe as ever (with the exception of the hotu, but they did try and molest dany and feed on her like a battery; drogon did what he had to do, that lizard had good instincts). Dany just took iliryos ships and did not infact break guest rights to buy her ships.
I think a lot of people (including myself) have held conflicting beliefs at times and wish we could take back certain opinions. Cognitive dissonance is hard to overcome and peoples outlook changes
Also, she didn't threaten to murder a city at its gate; she wanted to help her people out of the red waste cause the 'city of bones' wasn't where any of them wanted to stay long-term. She complied with the demands of the quartheen and was subsequently let in.
Season 2 was showing the big signs of the dumb and unnecessary changes from the books, both Dany's and Jon's storylines were changed for the worse in season 2.
I have always seen Daeron I as having to prove the strength of house Targaryen. He was the first king to have never ridden a dragon, and the dragons were gone by the start of his reign. By the time he had risen to power, the green and black factions had collapsed and new players were pushing for power. Daeron I had to show Westeros that, dragon or no dragon, house Targaryen was still strong enough to force them together.
"I drink and I know things" is the true worst line in the show. The second I heard it, I knew you'd be seeing it on t-shirts and mugs within the month. Pure mass consumerism nonsense
Keep in mind that Valryrian does not necessarily mean Targaryen. The Valyrians had a huge empire for hundreds of years and did business with Westeros. They likely spread their seed around. The idea that enough genes ended up in one descendant many generations down the lines, isn't entirely impossible.
Yeah, and she pretty much was the only one that actually tried to keep the Realm together was it was doomed to fall on the weak Aenys and his possiblity weak heir.
Dany's line, to me, always seemed like a nod to Eowyn twist in LOTR. JRRT uses the same word play in his Witchking prophecy. The worst line is definitely Jamie's. Jaime killed his king and soiled his honour because he cared. He carried that burden for years, twisted himself into everything he once hated just to use it as an armour. Having him say that line was an abomination. I am also against Tyrion being a secret Targ. There are enough secret identies around that another one, impossible to prove, is not needed. The only way for us to get even a slightest hint that Tyrion really is a Targ would be for him to ride a dragon. And here we disagree, because I don't think he will ride a dragon and my God do I NOT want him to. He might have a hand in Vyserion's doom, and that would pay off the dubious cyvasse hint, but his youthful interest in dragons does not have to mean anything. We agree that Jon is a secret Targ and he did not dream of dragons or wanted to have one. This does not stop him from being a Targ. Therefore, Tyrions old hobby does not make him one. Especially that he did not have 'dragon dreams' but simply found them interesting - understandable for a scorned, defensless boy to be drawn to mighty, powerful creatures that would put him above everyone who is mean to him. And he can be the devil on Dany's shoulder and bring dragon doom on his enemies by proxy.
My theory is Tyrion will befriend Viserion, Rhaegal or both (similar to the show) and while he will fly, it will be less riding and more the dragons pick him up and fly him around against his will on occasion. Except they don't want to eat him. We've seen that Dany's dragons are not aggressive to people they know she treats well. Viserion was basically a house pet to Dany's Mereenese palace staff. Dany locking them away and Quentyn... being an idiot, definitely reduced their trust of humans, but Viserion still isn't very aggressive. Rhaegal kills for sport whenever it's in the mood. But if I remember right Viserion didn't attack anybody after it took over one of the pyramids.
More like his dragon,he himself is kind of a prick who makes bad decisions,he feasted his nephew's death, wastes a kingsguard to do another blood and cheese to rhaenyra and does not know when to surrender.I would say the mvps are jace, daeron and addam and i guess the adults maybe daemon since all his kids loved though he was still a bad person
@@brunoperez5062 Ohh I get it, so when it comes to Aegon it’s “more like his dragon” but everyone else takes the credit themselves lmao…Daeron and Addam sure I understand those choices, but Jace literally got deleted in his first ever battle while on top of a fully healthy dragon with multiple other dragonriders flying at his side, fighting a bunch of ships made of wood. His death is tragic but it’s probably the most embarrassing death of the war. *- Aegon fights against a dragon 4x the size and age of Sunfyre, and rider with 3x his experience.* *- He survives dragonfire and a huge fall from the sky.* *- Despite the wounds, he gets up and stops taking milk of the poppy so he can lock tf in.* *- He reunites with Sunfyre through hundreds of miles of separation with only his bond to the dragon alone.* *- Sunfyre fights and kills another dragon while already crippled with a mangled wing and while on the way to Aegon, but he loses an eye in the process.* *- When they finally reunite and take flight together they get jumped by Baela and Moondancer (a fresh rider and a fresh dragon) and despite being crippled, burned and coming off the poppy, and also despite Sunfyre being severely crippled with one eye and one good wing, they rip Moondancer to shreds.* *- Aegon survives another big fall that shatters his legs in the process.* *- He outsmarts and captures his main rival Rhaenyra Targaryen, and kills her himself (effectively the biggest W of the entire war).* *- When Sunfyre finally succumbs to his wounds and dies, Aegon is the only Valyrian Dragonlord that is described to have been “weeping” at the death of his dragon.* *- He returns to King Landing as the triumphant King.* *- He has the Shepard and all his followers seized and instead of simply having them executed, he stands from his seat with two broken legs to walk toward the stake and bring Fire & Blood to the man who massacred the Targaryen Dragons in the Dragonpit himself.* *- When he’s poisoned, Cregan Stark (his enemy) respected him enough to know he was the rightful monarch (since Rhaenyra was killed) and avenges his death with his own hands and executes every man who played a part in his poisoning.* *- He did all of this as the sitting King, while Rhaenyra was lounging around eating lemon cakes and letting her husband and sons do everything.* Sorry for the long reply, but Aegon II Targaryen is the undisputed MVP of this war and I’ll hear no excuses.
@@Aydan2108 Imagine judging how well written a character is based on how morally good they are, in ASOIAF of all stories/franchises. Daemon is 10x worse than Aegon by every metric, bro groomed his little niece…Jaime Lannister literally assaults his own sister and pushes a kid out of a tower and he’s one of the greatest characters in all of fantasy. Aemond takes out members of his own family, commits mass murder plus he takes a woman as a prize, and yet he’s a fan favourite…so please, miss me with that pathetic hypocrisy. Aegon II Targaryen is a great character, only a biased fool who chooses sides like a teenage Twilight girl from the 2000s would deny it.
While I can respect the rationale behind the ‘we are not men’ line being the worst, and while not a “line” necessarily, I don’t think anything will top how awful the history book samwell wrote literally being titled ‘a song of ice and fire’ was. I saw that and wanted to fucking puke…
While there may not have been a century long conspiracy, I can see the Maesters poisoning the remaining baby dragons and/or dragon eggs during the reign of a king who had a personal enmity towards the creatures and who wouldn't put much effort into investigating.
Visenya makes sense as the thunder hehind the conquest. Aegon lived for years without wanting to conquest, it makes sense that he has his dream, he shares with his sister lovers and visenya being fire driving what must be done. Aegon from what we know wasnt a war kind of guy. Could be a really cool dynamic of the sister lovers ebing the two sides of aegon, would make for aegon being the arbiter so still the key player but the sisters having true agency and influence.
I respect Visenya's warrior protege, don't get me wrong! But Show makers will consider Fans opinions as well. Since Visenya isn't much liked by mostly Fans, it could be fatal for TRP & Reviews if they show her as Conqueror.
I guess it's mainly because of fact that Fans see Aegon as OG character of GOT and his favourite wife is Rhaenys not Visenya that among 2 sisters they also like Rhaenys more. I think if Show makers really want a change in "Idea of Conquest" from books then they can show that Rhaenys was mind behind it, that she dreamt of White walkers & told Aegon to Conqueror. And that her letter from Dorne only convinced Aegon to stop war & make peace. Since Rhaenys is Fans Favourite they will easily accept this concept & like this show writers can invent something new apart from what's written in books.
I feel like the grand maester conspiracy isn’t a multi generational/century plot but man small plots over time that are to them small course corrections they deem to be the right move. Like alright we “fixed” this issue now what else is on the table.
I think Jamies “to be honest-“ is the worst, but the one that bugs me the most is Tywin saying “you’re a fool if you think a crown gives you power” after sending Joffrey to bed. It’s not bad but it’s way too explicit for my taste, and it’s especially annoying to me because the scene it’s attatched to is so good.
The worst line was in season 4 (maybe 3?) when Cersei straight up told Margaery that Cersei might slit her throat while she slept. Like, come ON. Even CERSEI would not threaten a daughter of a powerful noble family at court with violence. Not openly. That's beyond insane and would never happen. It totally took me out and I stopped watching the show then.
I like the idea of a philosophy being born from an agenda that died out, I think there was a conspiracy as early as when King Jahaeryse (I can never remember how to spell these Targaryen names) was still alive however I think the last players in this conspiracy died out as early as the reign of Aegon the 3rd and yet the anti magic sentiments of these men remained in the newer generation they likely taught and since then I don’t think there has been a conspiracy but rather anti magic sentiments
I must say Mr Chris, everytine you launch into one of your wild takes i start smiling with excitement - worst (best?) part is i agree with most of them
I'm sure I've told you this before, though maybe not. It's as though we share a literary brain. It seems I always see the story in nearly the same light that you see it. Thank you. I also feel as though too many topics that the Fandom have deemed as canon really lack more than one character's say so, such as the examples you put forth here. Take Tyrion being the 3rd head of the dragon and still a Lannister. I feel like the Fandom is clinging to and dismissing a huge detail. That nearly every house in the current story has "the blood of the dragon". Either legitimately or the wrong side of the sheets. I also agree that bonding with and taming a dragon are 2 different approaches. Dany is currently using both techniques with Drogon. Always love your videos. ❤️🔥❤️🔥
I agree with the take that with the idea that instead of some great scheme that everyone or even most people are in on; the Maesters’ Conspiracy or Northern Conspiracy is more likely to be individual players plotting discretely within a milieu of general secrecy. But that’s what a real conspiracy is, not hooded figures controlling everything from the shadows. Like how covert plots and conspiracies happen in real life, if there is a Maesters’ or Northern conspiracy it will be individual players working to achieve specific goals using clandestine methods.
We basically saw the "King is well meaning but bad at his job" archetype with both Robert AND Viscerys! What would be the point in doing that AGAIN? At this point, id love to see a stereotypically as confident trio of dragon lords who, while being human and capable of mistakes, are good at their jobs AND have dragons so they slowly, but surely, mop the floor with the leaders of the other realms. And after seeing the trailer for Kingaroad, I would really LOVE to see a story that's not just some original character placed in-between the pieces of the story we already know and like. Please. Just make a good, faithful adaptation! Oh. And no more Dragon Dreams OR Agons Prophecy! They fuct it up in the main series and even added it to House of the Dragon! Please! No more! We are already sooooooo fragile thanks to the wait for Winds, there is only so much that a fandom can take!!!😮😂🎉
I agree about Daeron the Young Dragon, I never really understood why he's held in such high regard, he was an overly ambitious young king who ultimately got himself killed. He was brave and bold but foolish, which doesn't make for a great King.
I actually think a Conquest show will have much bigger problems. We're talking about a foreign invasion using WMDs. It would be difficult to portray the Targaryens as justified in such a slaughter, dream or no dream. Add in that the only finish we have DID NOT involve a Targaryen ruling Westeros or even being more than support for the ultimate defeat of the Others and that was hundreds of years later, it's hard to justify anything they did. Harren the Black may have been a huge asshole, but for the most part Aegon and his sisters are the bad guys.
i think the worst moment in the show for me is when shae visits tyrion after the battle of the blackwater and offers him to run away leaving everything behind and tyrion refuses because hes good at playing hand. character assassination to the maximum degree
Ngl i alway thought the grand maester conspiracy was cringy as heck i sincerely hope it doesn't turn out true. My Hot take is this Blood Raven is the worst character in the asoiaf universe not even for his confirmed actions but for all the three eyed Raven timetravel BS implications I specifically hate things like timeline manipulation & prophecy because it ruins character agency and quite frankly it's a boring overplayed trope that never improves what it touches but infects it instead
Jaherys is actually a great king because he was the man the realm needed to restore fsith and trust in Targaryen power. He bound the realm together, conciliated. Yeah, a lot of credit should be given to Alyssane for her matchmaking and all her ideas as well as septon Barth and all the other grest men around him; but the thing is, he didn’t have to listen to any of them. Part of being a good leader is putting the right man in the right place and weighing up his advice against everyone else's and the realities of his situation.
Tbh, I agree with you on ‘the worst line from GOT,’ but it’s not something I’d remember if someone asked me. I’d prolly say it’s when Arya killed the Night King or when Bran became king. And I don’t agree with Tyrion becoming a dragon rider-idc how many theories I hear or proofs I see, I just can’t accept it. Maybe that’s a bias of mine, but ig we’ll see how the story goes.
The thing is Tyrion and Tywin AREN'T as similar as most say. Both are intelligent and have an understanding of politics, but Tyrion really never did much to secure a personal power base. He was easily cast aside because of this lack of foresight. Also, and more importantly, Tyrion takes everything personally. Tywin has so invested himself into his family name and house, there is no distinction between the two. His children are essentially pawns. Everything to Tywin is business. Affronts are never take to the man, but to the House. WIth Tyrion, it's all about him and nothing larger.
I enjoy this video a lot. one of your best I believe. I also believe that Tyrion can be a dragon rider and not be a Targaryen at the same time. Sort of like nettles. There is evidence that nettles is a dragon seed but then there's also a chance that she might not have been. It's just like taming a wild animal in making it your pet just on a larger more fiery eat your corpse scale
Totally. The two of them have a lot of Targaryen traits and their whole relationship seams like a dark version of the relationship between Aemon the dragon knight and Queen Nyres
Completely agree with almost everything - for the Tyrion situation I am of the exact same opinion, and for the worst line I disagree, but your overall take on Daenerys yes, they butchered her character, turned her to Margaret Thatcher
personally, I’d be game for Visenya being the voice of peace between the three, but to be ground down through the movie until she decides that she needs to finish the war asap with her time in Dorn killing her for making the choice of ease instead of righteousness. Aegon’s questioning can be the conflict of act I, but anything after that is going to be hella annoying.
Tyrion is a chimera. He has the DNA of Tywin and Aerys. This is what would allow him to be "not Tywin's son" and ride a dragon. This is a real thing that can happen. If Aerys raped Joanna and then she got with Tywin right away to cover up she could have conceived twins. If one of the twins consumed the other in the womb it would leave one person with both sets of DNA. People born like this often have heterochromia just like Tyrion. We will never know the answer to this, but this is my head cannon.
I don't like the Tyrion Targaryen theory and think it would take away from the character. I do think if there's a character clever enough to figure out how to ride a dragon without Valyrian blood then it would be Tyrion.
You know Visenya is going to be the girlboss mastermind, Rhaenys will be the peaceful, measured one, and Aegon will be the bumbling, incompetent male that gets all the credit because patriarchy. I hate to sound like one of the redpill bros but you know they're going to do that.
Daeron conquest was a Bismarck showing his house was at its weakest as they had just done with the dance and they had no dragons daerom had to do something to both show the targaryens were strong and main the shadow of strength and what better way than conquest to keep the locusts away its that simple and he bloody did it at a cost of what would have been the reach portions of renlys army and not really a hammer dent in the content of millions
I’m honestly fine with a vasenya lead conquest but a brother and two sister love triangle f that, stick to aegon being gay and only having kids with his sisters out of duty. Which is it’s own kind of fucked up but it’s still a better and more morally grey story especially with Valyrian racist superstition playing into it
I'd say thoses are luckwarm takes. You wanna a real Hot Take ? Here it is : D and D might have made a horrible story, but at least they made one. GRRM is never finishing the books. And a story without an ending, is by definition, not a story. Also, it isn't related but am i the only one who doesn't understand why people have to guess who the "three heads of the Dragon" might be, when you got only 3 "Targaryens" left in the story ? It will be Jon, Daenerys and Aegon VI.
In my opinion the Tyrion Targaryen theory is probably the ultimate for of a GRRM twist destroying Tyrion’s one triumph over his father with the “writ small” line making Tyrion’s story even more bitter, showing that even though Tywin is a terrible person he still is right. Furthermore I think this will fulfill the three heads of the dragon prophesy if young griff is found to be illegitimate and if Tyrion were to find out about his true heritage I think it would quicken his decent into evil.
12:12 Your Daenerys would sooner die than kill innocent people?? Bro forgot that she burned her slave, Mirri Maz Duur, alive because she disobeyed her (literally rebelled against her master).
(spoilers for non book readers) I'm still not sold on doing Aegon's conquest as a show anyway. These three Targaryens BARELY had a single setback from outside factions until the very end of their Conquest. Sure, it ended with a really damn big setback, but in terms of pacing a story, it's going to be difficult to go WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN DEAD the end. In my opinion the only way this show can justify itself is if the dynamic between the siblings themselves is on point. The dialogue NEEDS to be on par with early Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon Season 1. For the most part, the only real threats to these three protagonists are each other. Visenya is set up to be the warmonger, and the most strategically competent (although Aegon was definitely a force to be reckoned with as well). Rhaenys is portrayed as the most easygoing one. If there's going to be opposition to the war, it's going to be from her. Maybe have it so after the Field of Fire she felt guilty over how many people they had hurt and was questioning if this war was worth it. Make it so she didn't even want to go to Dorne but did it anyway because Aegon convinced her that due to Dornish guerilla tactics, Balerion and Vhagar weren't enough to subdue them. Aegon needed Meraxes as well. This adds more emotional gravity to the events in Dorne. Hell, maybe even have Visenya somehow involved in luring Rhaenys and Meraxes into a trap. I always did find it strange that Aegon and Visenya retaliated at brazenly as they did when one dragon was already down. If they'd proven they could shoot down a dragon, was it really worth sending in the other two AGAIN when Aegon and Visenya knew by this point that the dragons could not subdue the Dornish? Unless one or both remaining Targs had reason to believe Meraxes' death was a unique circumstance the Dornish would struggle to do twice.
Eveen if Visenya being behind most of the conquest has potential, knowing the writers are doing a horrible job of adapting everything it would probably be bad Sorry if bad english :P
Omg Visenya being the conqueror is SOOOO bad. I really just don’t want any more HBO ASOIAF shows if they are going to keep writing the same tired girl boss trope because MEN=bad and patriarchy yada yada… U realize most men in the ASOIAF universe or during feudal times had ZERO agency in their lives as well. They were constantly just sent to battle to die horrible deaths- it’s not a man’s world, it was the Monarch’s world- and because women couldn’t battle like men could they weren’t as easily respected as leaders. Keep Aegon strong and make Rhaenyra consumed by vengeance in HOTD- this is getting really stupid for no reason
How is Visenya wanting to do the conquest (a war of hubris that got thousands killed) in any way girl-bossy or similar to HOTD AT ALL? Did you even listen to the video? The entire point is that the women in HOTD WOULD NEVER do the conquest, Visenya being behind it would be a NEW AND GOOD Thing. It's also extremely on brand for her characterin the books, which I assume you've never read.
@@HubertHumphreyWasHerehow was the war of conquest a war of hubris? Aegon did it to unite the realm and bring peace which he did and is praised in lore for it, do you think westsros was better pre conquest?.
@ read them several times, I just finished fire and blood for the 4th time last spring.. You don’t seem to understand that I’m complaining about two different yet related things. If the potential idea is Aegon is somehow incompetent but Visenya is the one carrying them it goes against a lot of things in the book. Visenya is repeatedly shown to be vengeful and cruel while time after time Aegon uses diplomacy and forgiveness to inspire loyalty to him and unity for the first time on the continent (although truly in its infancy, the seeds of a strong nation were planted by Aegon). Removing Aegon’s agency and assertiveness is exactly the crap that HBO is likely to pull - as the other side of the coin is how they ruined Rhaenyra by essentially making her get over the death of her children in the matter of an episode. HBO is constantly trying to push this narrative of “women are in a constant state of persecution just because they are women- when in reality they are girl bosses (but also super empathetic somehow… season 2 was really disjointed and a complete mess). While in reality women AND men have ZERO agency- it was men who were slaughtered against their will at Rook’s rest. Martin’s work isn’t trying to convey that women are victims to patriarchy, but commons are victims of nobles. Aegon conquering the 7 Kingdoms isn’t automatically a bad thing. If they are united under one king it leads to less war between people inside Westeros, and if you buy into the HOTD thing about The Others being something Aegon was concerned about (which I believe dream or not he discussed with Torrhen Stark) it can certainly be considered morally justified. Look dude if you’re happy with the same old Girl Boss narrative I’m happy for you, you can still enjoy ASOIAF content even though it’s all just second rate shows trying to milk a cash cow while George puts of Winds of Winter. I assume you do like it if you think a Crusader Chris subscriber didn’t read the books- I hope you have a better day cuz clearly something’s not going well for you if you come out guns blazing like that. If you want to share your ideas and discuss, that’s cool, but you undermine your own point when u pull crap like that.
@natemccollum3731 while I aggre with most of what you said woman in asoiaf are victims of patriarchy it's a consistent thing he points out in his books he just does it tastefully and doesn't beat you over the head with it .
They love to remind us that history is written by Victors and I don’t understand why they think that means everything the victors said is wrong . 0:54 I like that meme but its Tru HBO is gonna make Aegon the conqueror a racist facist 😂😂 and his sisters two Valar
My Hot take is that the loyalty some of the smallfolk have on noble families is dogshit and after all the bullcrap that was pulled in the mainline story I would find it super unrealistic for the nobles and smallfolk to just, go back to how things have continued for thousands of years. (Yes, I don't like the noble sistem of Westeros lol, I need it to die, or actually changed)
I simply don't see the big deal about Tyrion and dragons. He was a nerdy kid who grew up reading about dragons because DRAGONS ARE COOL!!. There doesn't have to be any larger meaning to it.
Your commitment to editing Dany's eyes purple is the highlight of every one of your videos :)
Tyrion can be a Targaryen and still hold narrative impact because he is obviously the son of Tywin and Aerys
I subscribe to the Genetic Chimera theory too. But it's probably never going to be confirmed even if the books are published.
My worst GOT line is either "I know a killer when I see one," or "I've never really cared for them, innocent or otherwise."
yyyup. And also an absence of a line from Tyrion when hiding in the crypts from the frigging night king.
“I dont want it”, “You are my queen”, “We need allies”, “I dont know”

Season 2 was showing the big signs of the dumb and unnecessary changes from the books, both Dany's and Jon's storylines were changed for the worse in season 2.
@@MagicSecretsandMysteries Yeah they really were getting Dany wrong pretty early on, S1 really is the best adaption from the books
So when are we going to expect that Maegor BrightFlame is the one true king?
Nice
I would love for Rhaenyse to be hesitant at first but then slowly realise she can make great changes as she ignites the flames within herself
"I drink and I know things" is the true worst line in the show. The second I heard it, I knew you'd be seeing it on t-shirts and mugs within the month. Pure mass consumerism nonsense
Thank you for commenting on the "but we are not men" line, I always fucking hated that, it's so dumb and besides the actual point of the saying
QuinntheQM, FantasyHaven, AND Crusader Chris upload today!?! Love to see it
Keep in mind that Valryrian does not necessarily mean Targaryen. The Valyrians had a huge empire for hundreds of years and did business with Westeros. They likely spread their seed around. The idea that enough genes ended up in one descendant many generations down the lines, isn't entirely impossible.
Dude, Visenya was 1000% the power behind the trio
Yeah, and she pretty much was the only one that actually tried to keep the Realm together was it was doomed to fall on the weak Aenys and his possiblity weak heir.
I love how aggressively pessimistic people are about conquest because o what HBO did with changing characters arcs and roles
My hot take is that Aegon II is the MVP and the greatest character of the Dance Of Dragons.
Not a hot take imo, simply cold, straight facts
*- Aegon fights against a dragon 4x the size and age of Sunfyre, and rider with 3x his experience.*
*- He survives dragonfire and a huge fall from the sky.*
*- Despite the wounds, he gets up and stops taking milk of the poppy so he can lock tf in.*
*- He reunites with Sunfyre through hundreds of miles of separation with only his bond to the dragon alone.*
*- Sunfyre fights and kills another dragon while already crippled with a mangled wing and while on the way to Aegon, but he loses an eye in the process.*
*- When they finally reunite and take flight together they get jumped by Baela and Moondancer (a fresh rider and a fresh dragon) and despite being crippled, burned and coming off the poppy, and also despite Sunfyre being severely crippled with one eye and one good wing, they rip Moondancer to shreds.*
*- Aegon survives another big fall that shatters his legs in the process.*
*- He outsmarts and captures his main rival Rhaenyra Targaryen, and kills her himself (effectively the biggest W of the entire war).*
*- When Sunfyre finally succumbs to his wounds and dies, Aegon is the only Valyrian Dragonlord that is described to have been “weeping” at the death of his dragon.*
*- He returns to King Landing as the triumphant King.*
*- He has the Shepard and all his followers seized and instead of simply having them executed, he stands from his seat with two broken legs to walk toward the stake and bring Fire & Blood to the man who massacred the Targaryen Dragons in the Dragonpit himself.*
*- When he’s poisoned, Cregan Stark (his enemy) respected him enough to know he was the rightful monarch (since Rhaenyra was killed) and avenges his death with his own hands and executes every man who played a part in his poisoning.*
*- He did all of this as the sitting King, while Rhaenyra was lounging around eating lemon cakes and letting her husband and sons do everything.*
Sorry for the long reply, but Aegon II Targaryen is the undisputed MVP of this war and I’ll hear no excuses.
Imagine thinking that a rapist usurper is a great character
Do you have a video on the history of house stark and all the rulers like you have for the Targaryens?
9:16 yassified Tyrion jumpscare (Denis Maznev strikes again)
I think we need a hot takes part 2
The worst line was in season 4 (maybe 3?) when Cersei straight up told Margaery that Cersei might slit her throat while she slept.
Like, come ON. Even CERSEI would not threaten a daughter of a powerful noble family at court with violence. Not openly. That's beyond insane and would never happen.
It totally took me out and I stopped watching the show then.
Season 3 happens in the sept at Tyrion and Sansa’s wedding
I like the idea of a philosophy being born from an agenda that died out, I think there was a conspiracy as early as when King Jahaeryse (I can never remember how to spell these Targaryen names) was still alive however I think the last players in this conspiracy died out as early as the reign of Aegon the 3rd and yet the anti magic sentiments of these men remained in the newer generation they likely taught and since then I don’t think there has been a conspiracy but rather anti magic sentiments
Yeah, your Daeron take is spot on. I think it was what GRRM was going for as well based on Benjen and Jon's discussion at the beginning of the books.
Ah yes, the moments of questionable morals and mental health.
"Daeron I is overrated"
You're so real for that.
1:40 To be fair she kinda was
Was she???
She had some good ideas, but it was definitely Aegon's conquest.
@@Rengokuo4o6 the only reason it's called aegon's conquest is because he is a man
I actually think a Conquest show will have much bigger problems.
Harren the Black may have been a huge asshole, but for the most part Aegon and his sisters are the bad guys.
doesnt Tyrion have two different eyes, Heterochromia? So people are spectating the presence of two different sources of DNA and one consumes the other
Still my favorite asoiaf RUclipsr
Mad respect for correcting Daenerys' eye color continuously
wouldn't Valar Morghulis mean all people must die. I thought Valerian did not specify gender.
i think the worst moment in the show for me is when shae visits tyrion after the battle of the blackwater and offers him to run away leaving everything behind and tyrion refuses because hes good at playing hand. character assassination to the maximum degree
Ngl i alway thought the grand maester conspiracy was cringy as heck i sincerely hope it doesn't turn out true.
My Hot take is this Blood Raven is the worst character in the asoiaf universe not even for his confirmed actions but for all the three eyed Raven timetravel BS implications
I specifically hate things like timeline manipulation & prophecy because it ruins character agency and quite frankly it's a boring overplayed trope that never improves what it touches but infects it instead
zwitter users have indeed zweeted
Her last chapter she embraces her dragon roots
I enjoy this video a lot. one of your best I believe. I also believe that Tyrion can be a dragon rider and not be a Targaryen at the same time. Sort of like nettles. There is evidence that nettles is a dragon seed but then there's also a chance that she might not have been. It's just like taming a wild animal in making it your pet just on a larger more fiery eat your corpse scale
I think Jaime and Cersei are the Mad Kings Bastards. Also Jaime white cloak and golden hand matches Viserion pretty well.
Totally. The two of them have a lot of Targaryen traits and their whole relationship seams like a dark version of the relationship between Aemon the dragon knight and Queen Nyres
All I want is for them to make Aagon clever and capable and not make Rhaenys a dizzy head
Completely agree with almost everything - for the Tyrion situation I am of the exact same opinion, and for the worst line I disagree, but your overall take on Daenerys yes, they butchered her character, turned her to Margaret Thatcher
I still think there would have to be a time jump during the long night otherwise it won't be long enough
personally, I’d be game for Visenya being the voice of peace between the three, but to be ground down through the movie until she decides that she needs to finish the war asap with her time in Dorn killing her for making the choice of ease instead of righteousness.
I totally agree about the maesters. it's a fun conspiracy theory, but it also kinda flattens and simplifies the story too much.
Holy shit this is excellent lmfao, that self roast had me
Our Daenerys was greatly wronged!
S6.E1. The Dothraki do a little Monthy Python skit. I always hated that.
‘Xwitter users have Xweeted’ 🤣🤣 I’m dead
I would submit to Visenya with 0 hesitation…
My hot take is that I like season 3 more than 4 cuz of how they butchered my boys Rorge and Biter
Hottake : ASOIAF world building is bad
You were on point with the first 2 but no lol, maester conspiracy is 100% fact, maesters are so cartoonishly evil I am compelled to cheer Euron on
I’m honestly fine with a vasenya lead conquest but a brother and two sister love triangle f that, stick to aegon being gay and only having kids with his sisters out of duty. Which is it’s own kind of fucked up but it’s still a better and more morally grey story especially with Valyrian racist superstition playing into it
I think it's way better if the Targaryen dragon blood thing is just eugenics bullshit.
My hottest take is that Tywin didn't sleep with prostitutes. I won't elaborate
Daenerys believes that Mirri killed both Drogo and Rhaego. It's left ambiguous, but Mirri certainly doesn't deny killing Rhaego.
(spoilers for non book readers)
I'm still not sold on doing Aegon's conquest as a show anyway.
If you can correct the eyes…. Why couldn’t the shows??
Eveen if Visenya being behind most of the conquest has potential, knowing the writers are doing a horrible job of adapting everything it would probably be bad
Sorry if bad english :P
Omg Visenya being the conqueror is SOOOO bad. I really just don’t want any more HBO ASOIAF shows if they are going to keep writing the same tired girl boss trope because MEN=bad and patriarchy yada yada…
U realize most men in the ASOIAF universe or during feudal times had ZERO agency in their lives as well.
You continue with the young dragon slander! Infidel!
You do not need me to tell you, you already now how wrong you are
Lmaooooooooooooooo
I simply don't see the big deal about Tyrion and dragons. He was a nerdy kid who grew up reading about dragons because DRAGONS ARE COOL!!. There doesn't have to be any larger meaning to it.
