mine is macOS 14 and mySQL version is 8.4.0 but there might be a problem and no vides ask on macOS 14, so I have installed prevesious version which macOS 13 mySQL version 8.2.0 and its working fine, installing previous versions even we are having newer versions it might effect the system.

Enter below command in the terminal-
sudo /usr/local/mysql/support-files/mysql.server start

hey there maybe leave the path directory as default and not change it, I was having the same issue then I changed the path to default
