Thank you so so much for putting this video together, as a Linhof newbie, my Master Tecnika just arrived two days ago, without much knowledge, I did not know much of the camera adjustments until I saw this video. I love the German craftsmanships so much, excellent built cameras.

Excellent, thank you. I had a Tech V overhauled and re-skinned black by our friends in Munich two years ago. My next purchase will be the 3000, for all the reasons you demonstrate here. What's really interesting about a 5x7 Technika V, is that it has the internal track for short focal length lenses. I didn't realise it until I unpacked it. Thank you Paula. You're a gem.

Thank you very much for this comprehensive presentation! I particularly like the idea of pushing the top track to its rear position to bring it closer to the in-body track. This seems to be more material-friendly and it protects derailment of the base of the front standard - which may happen if and when, after a satisfying shot, you forget to bring back focus to infinity before starting to fold the camera. I think I'll move my infinity stops ...

I work a lot with my MK 4 Technika again, they are phantastic cameras.
I'm not using the rangefinder with the corresponding focussing curves, so I removed the rangefinder from my camera many years ago. I readjusted the stops on the sliders, so that I get infinity with my 150mm & 210mm lenses. Also, many years ago, I changed those wee blades that limits the amount of horizontal tilt to those from the Master Technika, that are a bit longer. So I do have the same amount of tilt as the Master Technika.
Also, my back is not originally from this particular camera, I got it from another 4x5 Linhof studio camera. But it fits and works perfect. Exactly as the original Technica back... And it also includes the same collapsable hood...
For proper wide angle photography, I use my 4x5 Plaubel camera, with wide angle bellows...

Great Video! Thank you for sharing. I wish Linhof puts a similar video for the Technorama 617s iii as well.

Great video. Would it be fair to say that the short focal focusing on the MT2000 doesn’t bring much in comparison to the short focal focusing on the Technika V 5x7?

I didn't know that you can operate safely the Technika after attaching a rollfilm or Fuji Instant back with only the ground glass quick release hocks without securing with both Graflok buttons on the top. Until now I used both.
How do you operate it ?

    Has there been a " Master Technika V" ?
i am looking for a used but not too old Technika and find it quite confusing to determine which type was build when…
