Unless Lincoln does,in fact bring a sedan back to the US market, they will lose me as a customer after 35 yrs. & 8 cars. They shot themselves in the foot by canceling sedans!
As a design professional (long since retired), I find this vehicle to be stunning. Not having a V-8 is the same error Ford made with the 8th generation (model years 1988-1994) Continental sedans. As someone with boyhood memories of seeing and hearing Lincoln V-12s being used as daily-drivers, my question is, "What was Ford thinking?" Even with a 50% surcharge, Ford could easily sell tens of thousands of vehicles with a top-spec V-8. Ford have shot themselves in the foot ... again!

The lines on this Lincoln are just, well, sexy. They couldn’t have designed this car any better. So luxurious. That purple is otherworldly! As a teenager my friend’s parents had the 1971 Town Car. It was so long. You could sit in the back seat and extend your legs out straight and put your ankles on the front seats. It was awesome. We loved going out in that car. 😂
Lincoln missed a golden opportunity. If the actual car looked like this, my E-Class would have been sitting in a LINCOLN dealer lot day 1. I still want one, but only the coach edition.
I love my very reliable E-class, but Mercs do look too much alike. After just seeing this video for the beautiful 2033 Lincoln, I went to their Web site: “The Lincoln Continental is no longer part of our lineup.” I’m confused, but apparently not quite as confused as Ford executives.
The Continental Reserve is spectacular!!! I have a 2018 Continental & I love it!!! It's too bad that they are no longer for sale here in the United States!!! 😮
I wanted one a few years back but couldn't justify the cost for what little driving I do. Now I'm retired, want to just e joy myself but they don't make them anymore. Oh well.. Hello, Lexus.
@@calvinbriggs1840 a flippant answer to a much more complicated process. You are not allowed to sell it or transfer it's title. Then after all that, guess what? You can only keep it in the US for a year. The video uploader tricked you. This is the current model that's on USA streets today. It's not back. This is simply click bait by the uploader calling it a 2023 model. All 2023 videos on YT about this car are fake.
@@denniss5505 Lincoln Is Not Making The Continental Again. They made Continentals for China yes but there is no continual production after 2020 at this time and there is no 2023 model. Go ahead. Try to find proof that there is a 2023 Continental in China. No, I'm not talking about the myriad of fake YT videos. Some actual proof. And then show me the link.
They did have suicide doors as offered on the very last Continentals. They were called Lincoln Continental Coach. They had a lengthened wheelbase, and were customized by an outside firm.
After driving a Ford Taurus, putting 260k miles on it in 9 years (I bought with 40k & sold it with 300,075 miles), never had to do 1 major repair and barely had to do anything but regular maintenance, like brakes, oil changes, tires, etc). I think getting a tie Rod, a control arm and using a couple the AC Freon refill cans were the only things I had to do to that car. After such a great experience w/Ford I decided to get a Lincoln MKZ And although I’ve had to do more repairs on my Lincoln in three years and I had to do in the nine years I had my ford, it has still been extremely reliable and still runs great with 270,000 miles on it. The Lincolns are obviously much more luxurious than most forts so my next car is going to be a Lincoln MKS or a Lincoln continental but I’m extremely disappointed to hear they’ve canceled their line of sedans as of 2020 so I hope this is real that they are coming out with a 2023 continental
For the price of this model Continental it should come with a lot of the options that cost extra. It should have the twin-turbocharged V6 standard, AWD, the rear infotainment standard, etc. Now the Coach Edition, which has the suicide doors, should have every option available with the largest engine available. As a Lincoln owner(2006 Zephyr) I've had the chance to test a 2020 Continental for a weekend. It's an incredible ride and had many options. I believe it was priced at $71K fully equipped. Only thing it didn't have was the Coach Edition doors. Throttle response is amazing. The 18 speaker Revl sound system sounds like my friends car with 2 12' subs on 500 watts each. But it's like 18.2 surround sound with specific sounds coming from specific speakers. I'm pretty sure it has 2 subwoofers in the back deck. My Zephyr has 1 8" subwoofer in the rear deck. I also added a Thornton chip to increase the hp by 60 and saves about 5 gallons of petrol per fill-up. Stock is 221hp V6. I'm getting about 275hp at the wheels on average. The acceleration rivals that of the 2020 Continental. I found a 2018 Continental for $11K that I will probably purchase very soon. Why to go Lincoln!!💯
The Lincoln navigator extended one is elegant, but this Lincoln is extremely elegant. It’s beautiful it’s lovely and it’s classy, chauffeur driven style 💯👑
Always liked the Lincoln Continental. Why would they advertise this model when you can’t even buy one new? Admired the styling since I was a young man, wish they would bring it back. The auto industry needs a larger sedan for comfort and styling.
Both Lincoln and Cadillac shot themselves in the foot for getting out of the sedan market while pushing exclusively crossovers and full size SUVs. Sure the Lincoln navigator and Cadillac Escalade are fine vehicles with plenty of comfort and tech features, but many buyers like sedans as well. Not every luxury vehicle buyer wants or finds oversized SUVs practical in everyday driving.
Far as I'm concerned all real cars went a way in 1981. The last Lincoln; The 1980 Lincoln Town and Town Coupe'. True ships of the road. I miss the, baby making, living room sofa back seat!
I have the 2021 aviator reserve and although I love the interior and options it has, there’s so many problems with the electrical/computer side of it. Mines aren’t the only one with all the problems, there’s so many others owners that says the same.
FoMoCo often takes aim squarely at their insteps. Only GM with their serial foul ups on the Cadillac could do better. Not that they care, but I suggest a 4 wheel drive supercharged V8 (or V12) with classic Lincoln doors. Make it a rival to the Bentley! They have already bested Cadillac.
One of my favorite cars I have owned was a 1978 Buick Riviera that I bought in 81 when I was 21 years old. It was the last year of the full frame, rear wheel drive Rivieras. I wanted a Trans-Am but the insurance was a bit too much so I went the luxury direction. One of the best auto decisions I ever made. Cops didn't pay any attention to me and the girls that I dated loved it. It was black with black interior and black landau roof. Yeah it was a big car but really luxurious and rode great. A lot of the interior trim such as door panels were same as used in Cadillacs of that period. Would love to have another personal luxury coup.
