He was a true viking in every sense of the word. A great man taken too soon, but thankful for him to have been.
Easily the strongest personality on the strongman circuit; a HUGE loss. RIP Jon Pall. No-one will ever replace you.

Whilst it's debateable whether Jon Pall was the greatest strongman of all time, I think most would agree he was the most likeable strongman. I had no idea Jon Pall was also a professional bodybuilder, a fact that just makes his strongman accomplishments even greater! Having to keep losing weight for the bodybuilding, and then putting it back on for strongman must have been very harsh on his body. This documentary was wonderful. Inspiring and very sad at the same time. And that carton drink advert was hilarious! R.I.P. Jon Pall, a legend both as a strongman and a human being.

This man brought and still brings so much pride for icelanders. He will be forever loved.

I have started love and watch this sport from 2002, however time after time i have tryed to watch old competitions also, and I would like to say that now it is my life, and it all thanks for man like he! IT IS A GREAT SPORT AND GREAT SPORTSMENS, I WANT TO SAY THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL OF THEM, BLESS US GOD

They are eternal. RIP Jon Pall it wasn't just what he won is how he lived and respectfully was a huge personality not just to Iceland but to the whole world. He is definitely missed, they don't make them like those athletes of the past, pure dedication and sheer will to win, even overcoming injuries throughout the competition. Respect

What a beautiful documentary, thanks for the upload. The one and only. His drive and burst of power is what always motivated me. Watching him in WSM with the way he did the challenges, he made it look easy. Just so amazing. Such a legend that so many WSM contestants and champions look up to. RIP!

Much respect to this legendary strongman. He transcended the business from being almost a taboo into mainstream success. He was the forerunner to the modern strongmen of today where aerobic power meant more than traditional lifts. Was he the strongest man in the world or of all time? No, but he was damn close. Only Kazmaier and Paul Anderson (imho) could say they were better. Jesus bless.

Even though I'm not that much into strong man stuff but this man is (or was) so great, I have a lot of respect for him. I remember him, though I had to google for his name but still, I kinda remembered his country or so, so it was easy to find.
He might be even better than Jouko Ahola and all the others, he might be the best of them all - unfortunately he died too soon.But he was very good, he was! Very strong man.

Sigmar is not a nobody. He is a much loved son, grandson, brother, cousin and friend. His father would be proud of all that he has achieved. Strength sports was only one small part of JP's character, the rest which family and friend's were privileged to see and be a part of was where his true strength and talent lay. That is what his son possesses.
