You guys are so right. They weren't 'given' the song. They write and produce their own songs. They are all amazing dancers, musicians, singers and rappers. Their lyrics are deep and meaningful, and their main lyric writer (the leader RM) goes deep into philosophers. He is brilliant with an IQ of 148. They are not just any group, they are beyond incredible. I am 70 years old and my past loves have been Bowie, Pink Floyd and groups like Nightwish. But BTS have absolutely wiped me out, with their talent and musicianship.
All great artists. I'm not familiar with Nightwish, though. I think I'll have to check them out. It's refreshing to encounter amazing lyricists/musicians/performers all in one place, especially among the sea of blaaaah. Very refreshing indeed.
There is an extended version of this as well. :) Keep in mind that almost ALL of the effects in this MV are practical... the water was real, the floor really fell out from under JK's feet, the fire was real (though it WAS enhanced by CGI).
Hello. I just found you all today. I wanted to say thanks for checking out BTS. I am soon to be 52 year old BTS ARMY and have been an ARMY since 2014. I love and listen to all kinds of music but BTS is the only artists I have ever considered myself a member of their fandom. For me, and many ARMY, it goes way beyond music. While BTS are Korean and are also a group of guys who make music together, they really don't fit into the kpop category. That is just too limiting for them. They are global artists like Drake or Adele or J Balvin, etc. The kpop label is just a very small part of who and what they are. They have been making music together since 2012. They came from an extremely poor, small company that couldn't even afford to properly promote them like other labels promote their artists. However, they are innovators and took that weakness and made it a strength. Also, the guy that started their company was/is a music producer first...not a business man-but a visionary. Now, that same tiny company he started back in 2005 that had like 12 employees is the largest music label/record company in South Korea. It is larger than if you add they other biggest labels in South Korea together. Why? Their CEO was different. He insisted they write songs that were about their true inner selves. He let them participate as much or as little as they wanted. It just so happens that they are 7 perfectionists and the hardest working people I have ever seen. Starting out, whatever things the members didn't know, they learned over time, mostly by helping each other or on their own and occasionally bringing in professionals in different areas to train them--so that now all members can write, compose, and produce music. They have a very large say in the music that they make, the music videos that they are in, how often they release music, what kind of music they make, the kinds of brands that they want to sponsor, etc, etc. Also, they own shares in the company. Now the little 12 employee company that they grew is a multinational conglomeration. I don't even know how many businesses they have bought both music and non-music related. If you look at the artists that fall under the Hybe corporation, I think you will be surprised. They are the biggest artists in the world but you would never know it. They are very humble, respectful, positive, but also down to earth and not afraid to show their "imperfections". They are just truly good human beings who also happen to make amazing content and music. I subscribed and can't wait to see more reactions to BTS. They have a very vast and diverse discography and years worth of nonmusic content as well. Enjoy!
I have tears in my eyes whenever I read such a beautiful positive message. BTS bring so much JOY into my life and to millions Armys. Thank you so much.💜
Beautiful paragraph. I found BTS when I needed them 2018/19 and have been blessed. They have gotten me through the worst times of my life. They are amazing human beings ❤
@@lexyyl9540 Thank you. They really are the most amazing humans. I actually made a typo, not that it matters, I am sure I will make many more, but I turned 51 in March, not 52. :)
It's also great to see when someone who loves music and artistry realizes right away what BTS are about! BTS are the most sincere and dedicated artists you can imagine. And they work with the best people. There is a ten-year discography of about 300 songs for you to discover...
omg i can´t explain how happy i got after you said the part that BTS dont sound "plastic" like a band who was given a song to sing compared to a generic group of people making a song together and working with the production to make this MV because that´s exactly what happened. they live and breathe music and RM the leader loves art and if often the mastermind behind the mv. of corse he has help bringing it to live but they are always involved with everything they do compared to kpop in general who often focus of the visuals. there is nothing on the deeper level and i truly believe that´s why Army is the largest fandom in the world.
BTS are the biggest group in the world right now. 4th most awarded artist in the world(800+ awards), most streamed group on spotify with 31B streams, most streamed act on RUclips with 28B views. They are also known for their impressive stadium tours around the world. On top of all these achievements, BTS writes and produces most of their own songs(unlike many other kpop groups). They so far have 300+ songs in their discography. They originally debuted as a hip hop group and have since dabbled in almost every genre. They talk about a lot of serious stuff in their music like self love, the korean education system, socio- political problems, mental health, women empowerment etc. Recommendations for BTS :- Black Swan, Blood Sweat and Tears, Mic Drop, Not Today, Baepsae, Ddaeng, Ugh!, Cypher 1-4, Run BTS, Outro Tear, House of Cards, Truth Untold.
They seem to be this big for a reason. Other K-Pop bands that I've seen all seem so corporate and bland. This video felt so much more real than the other stuff I've seen. Also... that makes a lot of suggestions for Black Swan... Stay tuned... 😉
@@ChaseAndRemmingtonMusic recently I'm liking other Kpop groups too... before I couldn't vibe with most of those songs but nowadays I vibe with them. But when I compare BTS with them, BTS just hits different.
Bts give meaning to everything they do. Through mv, music, lyric, dance, and even how they connect with fans in real life. You can tell how much they care and love their work
I just finished watching your Blood Sweat and Tears reaction and loved it so came here to watch you do Fake love (and black swan next!😍) Love these reactions, Thankyou for SEEING them, not just viewing them but SEEING them. It means alot to ARMY 💜 and the fact you could tell straight off the bat that they write their own music and have a hand in everything from the production to the way the choreo is put together and the stories they want to tell *chefs kiss* They also taught me…no a better term would be that they de-conditioned me from hearing every song about love as purely romantic. They write their songs in such a way as it can mean different kinds of love. Love for a significant other sure, but also love for oneself, love for family, love for friends, etc… whatever love you need or want to think of it as is what is the right way for you when you listen to it. There is a song called ‘Boy With Luv’ , but the Korean name translates to ‘a poem of small things’ (which I adore!) and it would be easy to assume it’s a love song about a romantic significant other, but ACTUALLY it is a love letter to ARMY, a Thankyou to us for expanding THEIR idea and experience of love. That’s why the Korean name is as it is, it means that they realised through us that love is not some obscenely grand thing like they used to think when they were younger and wrote a different song called ‘boy IN luv’, that it is actually simply the little things. It’s smiles, and messages of encouragement, and being there for eachother through pains… they even made the dance simpler so that ARMYs could dance with them easier since it was a letter to us. It’s one of their more bright Pop tracks so I really didn’t pay it much mind in the VERY beginning of my baby army days…which was dumb of me hahaha! There are 3 BTS songs I have dismissed initially in my Baby ARMY days and ended up falling in love with once I found out the lyrics/meaning Boy With Luv Anpanman (it’s about how everyone sees them as heroes nowadays and how they want to be a different kind of hero, not something unattainable and absurd like the superheroes we all know and love but they want to be like Anpanman, this Japanese hero who is made out of bread and he literally gives parts of himself to protect people and feed people who go hungry, that’s the kind of hero they want to be) Strange (An Agust D and RM track, Agust d is the solo name of one of the members Suga. This is technically not a bts track it’s from Agust D’s album, but it’s both him and Rm from BtS and I skipped this track for AGES because I’m not a fan of autotune and the intro uses it but BOY WAS THAT STUPID because the song is AMZING the lyrics are so so good and the whole track is this anti-capitalist banger that has this eerie horror movie vibe because of the subject being like a real life horror story.) Sorry for the long message!! I’m passionate about BTS haha! Borahae 💜
I came straight from your BST reaction! Again, thank you so much for you guys' reaction! I love when people (especially reactors) are respectful of BTS and they dive more into the meanings of their songs and their artistry rather than going "oh, their dancing is cool" or "it's so catchy". BTS songs are mostly composed and written by themselves with some help from their own company’s in-house producers (Supreme Boi, Pdogg, Slow Rabbit, Hiss Noise, Adora, ‘Hitman Bang’-CEO of the company and a few more others). They usually write songs that speak about mental health, society & social issues, speaking up for the youths and self-love. They are also incredible lyricists and often use a lot of metaphors, double (or triple, even quadruple) entendres, psychological, literary and philosophical themes, real events, etc. Fans like myself love them for their music along with their amazing personality, hard work, altruism and kindness. All their songs have meanings behind their lyrics. So if you react to their MVs or songs make sure to read the lyrics (doolset has the best translations, but genius doesn't do a bad job) and turn on the CCs! And their albums are heavily referenced to psychological theories, literature and art. Their album series ‘Map of the Soul’ is based on the book called ‘Jung’s Map of the Soul’ by Carl Jung. 1. Album Map of the Soul - Persona 2. Album Map of the Soul 7 (MOTS:7 released on 21st Feb 2020) 3. Album Map of the Soul: The Journey (Japanese album released on 14th July 2020) SOME OF THE BEST SONGS FROM BTS THAT HAVE A SOCIAL AND/OR POLITICAL COMMENTARY: - Bapsae (rich/poor, millennials/boomers) - Spring Day (Sewol Ferry Tragedy) - Am I wrong (political) - Paradise (mental health and race to success) - Spine Breaker (children breaking their parents' backs just to be "trendy") - No more Dream (debut song, your dream vs your parents' dream for you) - N.O. (rigid school system making mindless robots) They have plenty more especially their solo songs and the boys' individual mixtapes/music (yes they are allowed to create music outside of BTS). I hope you continue to enjoy their music and their journey as musicians! If you are willing to give them more of a chance, I'll leave you some suggestions! Sorry for the long comment here! Oh wow!!! 👏👏👏👏👏 First reaction to BTS, and you get them!!! Thank you for your open mind and great reaction. I am sure that my fellow BTSARMY will guide you well if you tell us your cup of tea and want more of BTS. There are tons of BTS contents. These amazingly talented musicians has been incredibly productive. You mention about “mask” a few times. You will love BTS’ Map of the Soul era that they explore Carl Jung’s psychoanalytic theory/perspectives
@@RemmingtonCampbell I am anxiously waiting your next reaction to BTS. I am sure my fellow BTSARMY are too. Would you believe there have been international interdisciplinary BTS conferences? Many areas of scholars come together to discuss BTS’ music. How their music references their fields of study and the impact of BTS’ music in culture and society (and also their scholarly work). These young men are truly amazing!!! They will certainly stimulate your intellectual curiosity.
As a fellow Linkin Park turned BTS fan, I agree. To me, LP music reinvigorates my soul and BTS music reinvigorates my mind, body and the members/company help me keep faith in humanity. Both bands share the habit of aiming for perfection, never getting lazy and truly honour music while always putting their real selves in the music they create. When people say Idols/kpop bands aren't artists they don't play instruments or whatever - BTS uses dance and music videos as their instruments and their art is truly alive on stage live.
The dance steps during main chorus represent "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" as well as the black and white background at the end and beginning. Also heard that the sets are all built and real
I didn’t notice that about the dance steps! I’ll have to check that out! And I have no doubts that they built all their sets even the 2 floors set in blood sweat and tears was actually built and they had a guy on a crane that got lifted up quickly to do the transitions.
BTS produces and gets involved in their songs. Their songs are meaningful. Checkout their live performance! Their Love Yourself campaign with Unicef and speeches at UN headquarter sent them apart from the boy bands
You should check out more BTS's music videos. They all tell a story and it is up to your interpretation. If you want artistic, check out Blood, Sweat and Tear. Another one is Black Swan, but Black Swan is more like an artistic dance performance.
@@ChaseAndRemmingtonMusic Lol, if you don't know BTS actually created it's own Universe in their music videos Which is why the background scene are not just for show, it conveys stories
Guys, I loved your comments, but it would be great if you would pause the video before commenting since I couldn't understand much of what you were saying. Thank you. BTS are incredible artists, hard work and quality performance, they dance, sing, rap, compose, produce and more. They are multifaceted whether in a group or alone. Please continue your BTS reactions. Greetings from a Mexican ARMY mom. 💜💜💜💜
So to defend txt( the last group) they r bts's juniors. So they have meaning and a storyline as well in their music. They did have a captivating and meaningful mv to their song sugar rush and you just gphappened to only watch the choreography video. They have gone thru many styles of music ( for instance a punk rock phase recently). I would suggest loser=lover, can't you see me And more BTS if course
That's all fair. I was actually told that we didn't get the right video in the TXT video once before. I will probably go back and watch the actual music video sometime but the army seems to be demanding more BTS for now 😂
Their songs can be interpreted in numerous ways and they always encourage fans and listeners to draw our own conclusions beyond their original intention behind a piece. For Fake Love, seeing how it’s part of Tear, it talks about how the person in the relationship is beginning to realise how they’ve changed themselves to fit what (they believe) their partner wants, effectively erasing themselves and putting up a façade just to keep the relationship alive. They realise how a love based on lies is fake and how both of them created something that doesn’t actually exists. In the end it ties in with the series in that not loving oneself leads people to be willing to change themselves at their core if it means people will love them, because they believe themselves to be unlovable as they are or believe they have to be a certain way to be loved.
Bts is an anomaly in that they write, compose, produce, beats, the storyline of their albums that have a ongoing story. And their lyrics and they are the rare artist that is even better live. 💜💜💜
Notice the floor falling away behind Jungkook as he ran. There's a video of them making of this MV. The real floor falling in sections and Jungkook is really running as fast as he can as the floor section behind him are falling. He's attached to a safety wire just in case he doesn't run fast enough which has was air out in production. There's a mirror at the end of one corridor where V (TaeYung) is standing which is steamed up with the words 'Save Me' fingered on it when that is flipped it's says 'I'm Fine'. It's about losing oneself in any kind of relationship where you change to suit someone else and you yourself become's lost. Whether that's due to abuse of some kind or because you yourself don't feel good enough. The realisation that it's not real love it's fake love, that you can't love another before you learn to accept and love yourself. Self love. As RM said in an interview 'if you can not love yourself you can love no one.'
Yeah, BTS is what it is now because of the deep meaning lyrics and their implications in their music. (Also beautiful dancing) I really really like when you pause and talk. I usually don't deep dive and think too much when watching a music video clip, so I appreciate the thoughts and the discussion :) There is a french canadian group called "Les cowboys fringants". Their lyrics are really meaningfull. Pairs with the music, it's really...nostalgic, sad, regrets. Talking mostly about how we see the state of the world but can't do anything. If there is translation, it's worth looking. It's VERY different from kpop
Great reactions! Wait till you see BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS, BLACK SWAN, MIC DROP, ON KINETIC MANIFESTO and so many more. Pls do more of bts if you want top tier music videos, lyrics, choreography, and vocals. Armys will be on the look out.. 💜💜💜
Teaser...We have a Black Swan reaction on its way. It really is impressive how they are able to blend so many art forms in their music videos. Really quality stuff.
This song is from the second album of their Love Yourself trilogy. Which if you listen to all three albums in order, plays like step by step self realization of what love truly is and how to love yourself. In this song they talk about a relationship, whether it be with a friend, a lover, a parent or other family member or even yourself where you feel like you have to pretend to be someone you are not in order to keep that person’s love. That is the fake love, and in the beginning of the video it is represented by a flower inside a lamp that Jin is desperately trying to protect as the storm rages and the glass shatters around him. But when the camera focuses on the lamp again, the flower has turned to ashes. In the middle of the music video Jungkook finds the now empty lamp lying on a pile of ashes. He lets the ashes run through his hands and the fake love floats away like petals because he’s finally letting go of that relationship. Once he does, a door opens in the waterfall and he goes into a room and faces a masked figure. We learn from other videos that that figure is himself. Without the fake love he is able to face himself and look under the mask he has been wearing to see the real him underneath. The other symbolism in this video has to do with the Bangtan Universe or BU. Which is a fictional storyline that runs through some BTS music videos. All the rooms each member is in represent the childhood trauma of each of the BTS member’s fictional characters within the BU. For example: J-Hope’s mother abandoned him at an amusement park as a child after giving him a Snickers bar and telling him to wait for her. He is locked in a room of broken down carnival rides, and curls up in the fetal position on top of a pile of snickers bars. His fake love was a mother who didn’t want him.
They actually , really , produce and compose their songs , of course there are other producers and composers beside them , but each members put a role into their songs.
You actually understand the artistry of BTS. So many Westerners just try to dismiss them as that Korean boy band that sings Pop songs. They are doing a disservice to BTS and themselves. Thank you for your reaction!
Great reaction. It's ok to pause the video to talk and I would recommend pausing because if you look away for a second in a BTS video, you will miss things. They put something in every second. I'll be back for more. 💜💜💜
I love to witness people understand BTS, their talent and humanity. So much to listen to. I've been ARMY since 2016 and still I find new meanings everyday. Fake love whenever you are not true to yourself. I love it. You guys are amazing. The hands blooming flowers. Brilliant.
Such a good reaction. Remember when they sing about "Love" it is often not romantic love and if they sing about a "Lover" it is often not about a person.
Couple things Bts has a storyline that runs through their albums called the BTS BU Which this is part of. Just know their is a behind the scenes for all their videos.
@@ChaseAndRemmingtonMusic. BU stands for Bangtan Universe. The Korean name for BTS is Bangtan Sonyeondan, the Bangtan Universe. Bangtan means resistant to bullets ‘bulletproof’.
@@ChaseAndRemmingtonMusic There are hardly any CGs, just about everything is real (fire, water falls & floor dropping...) and there are so many symbolisms in this mv. Every props and backgrounds for this mv is set there detaily and serving some purposes and have stories. The relationships they are singing here can be interpreted in many ways (you & yourself, you & friend, you & your siblings, you & lover....). BTS fans are called Army and they are from all around the world with different races and professions from toddlers to 90+ years old.
About the BU - often the songs aren’t necessarily tied to the BU but the videos are. The BU runs through MVs, short films, a Webtoon, books, and album notes. It’s an entire storyline and each BTS member has a character. There are fan websites, RUclips videos, and Twitter accounts dedicated to deciphering the storyline and coming up with theories. It’s fascinating and deep. You don’t have to dive into the BU, though. All of their content is standalone as well.
Thanks for this reaction. :) BTS is consisting of three rappers and four vocalists. And all seven of them are excellent dancers. They do a wide variety of music, but basically they are rooted in hip-hop. All seven members are participating in making their songs by writing, composing, and producing them. BTS started with a small company that almost went bankrupt, so they have been very looked down and hated by Korean broadcasting stations and other K-pop fandom. So they have struggled from the beginning to prove themselves. You started BTS with Fake Love, but this song actually has a storyline. I think it would be good to follow the story line. DNA: Joy of fateful love → Fake Love: Realizing that love was a lie → IDOL, Epiphany, The Truth Untold, Answer Love Myself: To love other people completely, you should love yourself first. These are included in Love Yourself Trilogy. The lyrics of BTS' songs are based on their own experiences, and their albums are organic because they contain their growth narrative. It will also be fun to listen to their albums in order and analyze them. :) If you're interested in BTS' MVs, I recommend.... Mic Drop Blood sweat & tears FIRE On kinetic manifesto film Black Swan Save me→I'm fine Daechwita(Agust D 대취타, Suga's solo) All of their music videos provide English subtitles. :) Oh, if you're interested in their lives, I suggest some of them. Their live performances are always even better than MVs! BTS Full Performance MAMA 2018 in Japan (FAKE LOVE + ANPANMAN) (FULL HD) ruclips.net/video/6v8p3FNE9Og/видео.html [BANGTAN BOMB] 'FAKE LOVE' Special Stage (BTS focus) @2018 MAMA - BTS (방탄소년단) ruclips.net/video/KpJJMtK1C1c/видео.html BTS - Intro + Fake Love + IDOL (Live from Melon Music Awards 2018 - MMA 2018) ruclips.net/video/0j2Rypbrbwo/видео.html FYI, MAMA and MMA are awards shows held in Korea. :) Every year, BTS has shown their all-out performances at award shows.
Even the choreo is based on Marionettes - they are being controlled by the strings of their fake love like puppets. Your comments are interesting- you may want to pause the video so we can hear you (don’t turn music volume down). This is part of ongoing BTS story line - probably worth you pursuing - you won’t be disappointed 💜
I loved your reaction. Please keep reacting as BTS will climb into your heart and soul. Lyrics are something you must delve into along with music, dancing and video. You won't be disappointed.
Yea, BTS! You could spend a whole year of your life catching up to their content and still not see it all, lol Maybe check out some other classics like: - Fire (a song about resisting the extremely competitive expectations South Korea holds for its people) - Mic Drop (a clapback at those who bullied them when they were underdogs) - Black Swan (about the fear of losing passion for the art you once loved to create) - ON Kinetic Manifesto (a rallying cry to bring on the challenges because they've already overcome so many) - Airplane Pt 2 (about being modern-day mariachi) - Spring Day (in memory of victims of the Sewol Ferry tragedy) Each song has a different flavor to it, but they have many songs in each of those lanes.
Thank you so much for a great reaction video 💜 I liked your commentary and that you didnt fall to the stereotype of a boyband and were openminded to see what this song is about. If you are interested on the info about Bts and members, Taylors introduction to Bts is a great video to check! For songs, I would suggest Black swan. It is very different, but a deep song also 💜
We were actually recommended Black Swan and this song on another video and that's why we watched this one. 2 recommendations for Black Swan sounds like something we might need to see. 😁
I enjoy listening to lots of different kinds of music, and this was my first time experiencing BTS. They did not disappoint, especially when you include the video and everything in that.
Wow I really enjoyed your reaction and comments! I cant' wait your thought about "On(Kinetic manifesto film)" and "Black swan"! You will see how versatile they are with top-notch production value, amazing choreography and meaningful lyric! Thank you for your open mind and giving chance to BTS! People who had no prejudice would meet the whole new world💜💜
Omg you reacted to my suggestion :D tysm They don’t stick to one genre, literally any genre you ask I can give you a song of theirs. Love the way you guys pause and talk, you broke it down beautifully. If you want more suggestions I recommend black swan or ON (kinetic manifesto film)
Thanks Ayo! Your suggestions are absolutely fantastic. I've been watching Violet Evergarden this week and was absolutely blown away at how beautifully they portrayed the moment when Violet comes to terms with the fact that she DOES in fact have all the psychological scars that the captain had told her about. Especially because it's brought on by the weight of the lives she's taken and how hard that must be on the families of those people. I'm sure I will be talking about it very soon. I've already written over 800 words on it and I'm only like 7 or 8 episodes in.
@@ChaseAndRemmingtonMusic you don’t know how happy this made me, I’ll be eagerly waiting to hear you talk about it, you’re amazing at articulating your thoughts and amazing at breaking down concepts, can’t wait for you to finish it :D tysm
Watching ur first reaction to kpop (TXT- Sugar Rush Ride) to this... i see why ppl recommend watching Fake Love. I do wish you had reacted to the actual music video for Sugar Rush Ride, theres actually a story behind it, actually the album where SRR is from. The whole album (The Name Chapter: Temptation) deals with the themes of growing up and dealing with temptations, mostly the temptation of escaping reality and staying in the magic island (Neverland) so you DONT have to grow up. But for groups like TXT and BTS you REALLY need to pay attention to the lyrics and the storytelling in their mvs because they all tell a story. But since you guys have mentioned this in passing... I would love to see you guys react to TXT (Tomorrow x Together) song 0x1=Lovesong ft. Seori (Zero by One= Lovesong). Im sure you will enjoy it 😌 And if you want to see the extent of their artistry watch the MVs/short films for the songs Nap of a Star, Magic Island, and Eternally. Theyre basically storytelling music videos but like.... to the next level, theyre some of the most cinematic mvs in kpop ever. Anyway, love your reaction so i subbed! Stay safe!!!
Watching all your BTS reactions now, ohh I get it why you appreciate BTS :), because you care about authenticity and human emotions. You should do a reaction to live BTS performance, they are even more amazing live!!! MMA or MAMA awards shows will blow your minds. (I was lucky enough to go to one of Agust D/ SUGA concert recently in LA and seriously it was so amazing T_T...Suga/Yoongi and then RM are my favorites in BTS for their overall performances and lyrics)
What a great reaction! Love the dialogue and your genuine reaction to the different layers of BTS! Your reaction is because you’re taking time to pay attention to all the different layers.
@@ChaseAndRemmingtonMusic hope u check out The Truth Untold soon, it's a vocal line only song. The rapline have cyphers by the way and One Piece is mentioned in Cypher part 2.
thank you for the reaction! while the impression many get is that the songs is abt a relationship, it's deeper than that and is part of their Love Yourself series. RM (leader, rapper) who is one of the main writers of this song said: "We're saying that if you're not true to yourself, your love won't last forever. The love could be person to person, it could be between me and myself." :)
Love your interpretation ! For the group, Fake Love is about the tendancy that we have to change ourselves to please others. At some point, we are creating so many persona that we can't remember who we are. So the ourselves we think we love (Love Yourself is the title of the album) might not be our true self, so it's a fake love. In the MV, you can see the boys emprisonned in their traumas (related to the storyline of the BTS Universe). Many songs and MV are related and in the Love Yourself series, it's how you must face your traumas, your fears, your shame and all the shadows in you to be completely yourself and to be able to love and enjoy your true self ^^.
What a reaction, you guys feels the emotion trough the MV too, that's the power of BTS, they hit different. One of the reasons why I fall in love with these amazing guys...Thank u very much for this content..... Another subscriber here..,. Borahae from 🇸🇷💜
WOW! What a refreshing first reaction to BTS. You were attentive and engaged and what you said was incredibly insightful. I PROMISE you will love our Bangtan Boys and their incredible artistry. My only tip is please pause the video when you want to say stuff. We don’t really enjoy people talking over the MV but we also want to hear your thoughts. Don’t worry about how long your video is; ARMY love to watch long videos, Luurrrrrv to! I can’t wait to see you react to more. OK - recommendations. Yes to Black Swan, ON, Blood, Sweat & Tears and I’ll add Airplane Part 2, Boy with Love, I Need You and Dope. To be honest, their discography is huge with over 300 songs and covering multiple genres so it’s hard to choose. Please also check out Festa Room Live. I’ve subbed in anticipation of more BTS! Borahae 💜
just come here after blood sweat and tears and black swan....really blown up on how you guys really seen the music and mv...hope your genuine reaction keep on going....
Thank you for reacting to BTS! Fans like myself really are grateful to people like you two who *get* and appreciate the message BTS tries to convey with their music, lyrics, and performance! 👍👍👍
I appreciate your reactions and for acknowledging the detailed artistry of the lyrics and performances. I personally prefer the live performances, such as Pied Piper, Singularity, Run but all are good, especially No, Fire, Zero O'Clock. I'd recommend checking out some of their solo work too, such as RM's Wild Flower, Jin's Astronaut, Yoongi's Daechwita and JHope's Arson. Insanely talented group of guys.
BTW, beautiful crystal egg collection behind you! 😊 So glad you reacted to this BTS video! Please do more BTS reactions! Their vocals, lyrics, and dance really drew me in, and their messages are just so good! Their audience is really varied, and made up of people who really appreciate good music. I’m 53 yo, and within just the past year have come to really love BTS! Start with MIC DROP, Answer: Love Yourself, ON Kinetic Manifesto, DOPE, IDOL, and so many more songs of theirs. Their solo works too. Remember to use English subtitles, because their lyrics really hit!💜
Welcome to BTS, lyrical and visual genius. You did an amazing job of breaking down this MV despite not knowing the storyline. The 3 EPs tell the story of a new beautiful love in Love Yourself: Her, then the breakdown of that relationship as you realise it is fake and tears apart in Love Yourself: Tear (Fake Love is from thus EP) and the understanding that you must love yourself before you can truly love another in Love Yourself: Answer. In addition to that BTS also have a fictional storyline running through many albums, MVs, Webtoon and Notebooks called the Bangtan Universe (BU) and Fake Love is part of the storyline. So the water, fire, snickers bars all make sense in that storyline too. That is a lot to dive into but ARMY can steer you in the right direction if you are interested. Thank you for your reaction. I hope you do more BTS songs. If you like really deep MVs you could watch Blood Sweat and Tears based on Herman Hesse's book Demian, if you like dance choreography you could watch On: Kinetic Manifesto, if you like a more latin feel you could see Airplane Pt2, for Hip Hop you could try the Cyphers 1 to 4, for a more rock feel you could try Run BTS (not the song Run), for the first part of the BU you could watch I Need U, a more EDM feel would be Save Me, a jazz feel like House of Cards or a ballad like The Truth Untold. So many to choose from. Can't wait to join you on your journey. I am a 50 year old ARMY from UK 💜
This song and mv is part of bts love yourself trilogy starting with serendipity mv and DNA mv falling in love stage. Singularity Mv and fake love mv realizing you that the love is fake and epiphany mv and idol mv realizing you need to love yourself before loving another person. Thought you might like to look into the whole trilogy
It’s always a pleasure for Army to watch as a reactor falls for BTS when the group finds them…. Fake love comes towards the very end of the BU( the bangtan universe) and the video images contain references to many other MV’s, short films, a game, short stories …. But given this was your first exposure I think you both showed some great observation and interpretation… now you are on the edge of the BTS rabbit hole… I hope you decide to fall in 💜 10:14
BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS!! Now mind you, I love BTS and you seriously have to go down a rabbit hole to understand the depth of everything they do because it's all connected. But for now, if you are looking for an amazing MV, Blood Sweat and Tears is one of the best! Have fun! I hope you really get into the BTS Universe! These guys are amazing. Best ever is accurate IMO. But there is so much more to all of this than you understand right now!
I did not see the subtitles but heard you comment on them 💜 Can you make it so they are visible in the next one you do? Some others may be discovering BTS along with you and lyrics are so important. MVs from the past few years have subtitles but older ones don’t. Check first and if a video does not have them, search by the title and “English “ and you will almost always find a version with subtitles added. Thanks! APO BANGPO!!! 💜 (ARMY forever, BTS forever)
Thank You for reactions. I'm so happy you both enjoy and Like BTS. BTS is very Reliable to Most of Army's and Their music is Deep with Explanation to their songs. Lyrics are Amazing and Voices are unique. Our Seven Sensational King's.💜👑
New subscriber here. Just watched your Blood, sweat and tears reaction and that’s what brought me here. It’s so refreshing to see a reactor actually think’ about what they’re seeing as well as listening to. Can’t wait to see any other bts reactions you do. ✌️💜
Suggestion: please don’t talk over the songs. Pause if you would like to comment. We cannot really hear what you are saying and it will really annoy fans who feel it is disrespectful. Thank you. I look forward to your discovery that BTS is really in a category of their own. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Thanks for reacting...loved it.....they are involved in their songs and choreography. They have over 300 songs .. they did many concept and genres. So you'll not feel bored. I wish for more reactions.
New subscriber here. I just came across your reaction when I was looking for BTS content. Omg you really appreciate good music don't you. Can't wait for more to come
Idk if you have your subtitles on, but always use them. BTS songs have deep meanings. They are always involved in their songs and the choreo is always on point. So many recommendations as they cover so many different genres...my personal fave is the OMV to Save Me, also watch ON: KINETIC MANIFESTO FILM COME PRIMA, BLACK SWAN, MIC DROP, FESTA 2021, SO MANY MORE! These guys are multi-talented, caring, and yet remain humble & they love their fans(called ARMY) who are ALL ages. I am so glad my daughter introduced me to them 3 years ago. If you want to get to know them from the beginning & the members individually please react to A Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7. Continue down the BTS rabbit hole, you will never regret it. Thank you!💜
Just saw ur reaction now, and enjoyed it a lot... And thanks for being open-minded and genuine, and bcoz of that will be subbing and looking forward to more BTS reactions... U surely won't regret reacting to them, coz the ARMY'S are here for it... It will be a fun journey... And please enjoy... I would recommend BLACK SWAN, ON: KINETIC MANIFESTO, NOT TODAY, MIC DROP, BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS, FIRE, DOPE, and many many more.... Thanks 💜💜💜
Enjoying your reaction! If you haven’t already, turn on the closed captions- lyrics are really good. Also, consider pausing when you talk so that we can hear your comments.
4:35 if you wanna generic band that is given everything is gonna be Blackpink. Glad you like BTS and I hope you can continue reacting to them coz trust me they're deeper than what most people think(well atleast westerners). And fyi TXT is like their little brothers coz they come from a same subunit company which is BigHit. That's why TXT has songs that are written or produced by the BTS members.
Oh interesting! That really surprises me because TXT was out first K-Pop reaction and they didn't feel nearly as impactful... at least not in the song that we reacted to.
@@ChaseAndRemmingtonMusic of course. That's why army(BTS fandom) says BTS is out of the league. They are beyond than "K-pop". One day you will fully understand the impact these guys have not only to people, music industry, music awards, Grammy, Chipotle, Billboards, Black Lives Matter, White House, indeed, to the entire world.
@@ChaseAndRemmingtonMusic hahahhaha don't worry we're the cutest pie ever we just have a low tolerance for a$$holes. Also keep in mind we army love the long reaction and pause and rewind if you need to talk during the reaction. We also don't mind if certain songs are just not your cup of tea as long as you're being respectful toward our boys then we're good. BTS has about 300 songs in their catalog and it's almost impossible to like all of them. Just like me I love their Korean songs more than English ones like Butter and Dynamite. And most importantly you have to always read the comments and take the suggestions coz some songs need a Korean explanation video to fully understand the wordplay and historical reference. These guys are genius when it comes to all aspects of music (lyric, instrument, visual, note, pitch, choreography) basically everything. Edit: Fake Love is about loving another person(whoever you wanna interpret) can be fake if you don't love yourself. If you notice in the choreography, they made 3 signs "speak no evil (cover their mouth like this >🙊)", "listen no evil (cover their ears like this >🙉)" and "see no evil (cover their eyes like this >🙈)". Too much to unpack in one single song of theirs.
By the way, their songs have SO MANY LAYERS. I really suggest checking out some of the video breakdowns to explain what’s happening in both song and video. They do write and produce their own music.
Guys, tanks so much for your positive and open mind reaction 💜 I love it!! With BTS is all about text painting, Everything has a motive, most of their albums are conceptual trilogies. In the case of Fake love, the melody may sound "happy" at some point, but it is a lie, as with the lyrics, it pretends to be happy but it is not actually. And the choreography, is a puppet dance, the boys dance as if moved by strings of a puppeteer. And like with all BTS MV, there's the Dance Practice video, the MV's Making off, and this have a extended version, 'cause is part of the BU -BTS Universe- It is a fictional storyline that runs through some of their MV, and through the albums, includes notes, a webtoon, games and tracks that they leaving for ARMY to elaborate our theories. This song is from the Love Yourself trilogy, from album LYS: Tear. This series is the long way to love yourself, starts with hope, love of others, surrender, goes through hardships, pain, despair and losing yourself, and ends in the album LYS: Answer, and the answer and the end of everything is to learn to love yourself as you are, with mistakes and virtues. This song is from de middle, the lost and desperation. I hope you guys reacts to more BTS. I recomend you, 'Answer: Love myself' after Fake love. This song don't have MV, but beautiful live videos with subt like this m.ruclips.net/video/9NnKyfVODLQ/видео.html
This music video was filmed using actual stage equipment without computer graphics. Especially the scene where Jungkook runs down a collapsing hallway.
I wish I could hear you guys a bit better as it seems your voices are low (maybe just my crappy speakers). Finally someone who has the right idea on who to compare them to. I hear all the time the comparison to other people but they miss the mark in my opinion. Linkin park is a great comparison. There is a clip of two BTS members lip synching a Linkin Park song a few years back.
That's awesome.
The hands sculpture in the back is actually part of the dance they are doing. The "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil."
Enjoy!
I think its that authenticity that has really helped them grow so big.
@@lexyyl9540 So true. I will forever grateful, cherish the BANGTAN BOYS for the rest of my life. BORAHAE 💜💜💜
It's easy to appreciate art that people put real heart into.
omg i can´t explain how happy i got after you said the part that BTS dont sound "plastic" like a band who was given a song to sing compared to a generic group of people making a song together and working with the production to make this MV because that´s exactly what happened. they live and breathe music and RM the leader loves art and if often the mastermind behind the mv. of corse he has help bringing it to live but they are always involved with everything they do compared to kpop in general who often focus of the visuals. there is nothing on the deeper level and i truly believe that´s why Army is the largest fandom in the world.
I agree with all of this. The care that they are putting into their work really and truly shows.
Nice recommendation
@@ChaseAndRemmingtonMusic recently I'm liking other Kpop groups too... before I couldn't vibe with most of those songs but nowadays I vibe with them. But when I compare BTS with them, BTS just hits different.
Thanks for the recommendations. It's pretty astounding how big and popular this band is. What an accomplishment.
Bts give meaning to everything they do. Through mv, music, lyric, dance, and even how they connect with fans in real life. You can tell how much they care and love their work
I just finished watching your Blood Sweat and Tears reaction and loved it so came here to watch you do Fake love (and black swan next!😍)
Love these reactions, Thankyou for SEEING them, not just viewing them but SEEING them. It means alot to ARMY 💜 and the fact you could tell straight off the bat that they write their own music and have a hand in everything from the production to the way the choreo is put together and the stories they want to tell *chefs kiss*
They also taught me…no a better term would be that they de-conditioned me from hearing every song about love as purely romantic.
There are 3 BTS songs I have dismissed initially in my Baby ARMY days and ended up falling in love with once I found out the lyrics/meaning
Boy With Luv
Anpanman (it’s about how everyone sees them as heroes nowadays and how they want to be a different kind of hero, not something unattainable and absurd like the superheroes we all know and love but they want to be like Anpanman, this Japanese hero who is made out of bread and he literally gives parts of himself to protect people and feed people who go hungry, that’s the kind of hero they want to be)
Strange (An Agust D and RM track, Agust d is the solo name of one of the members Suga. This is technically not a bts track it’s from Agust D’s album, but it’s both him and Rm from BtS and I skipped this track for AGES because I’m not a fan of autotune and the intro uses it but BOY WAS THAT STUPID because the song is AMZING the lyrics are so so good and the whole track is this anti-capitalist banger that has this eerie horror movie vibe because of the subject being like a real life horror story.)
Sorry for the long message!!

1. Album Map of the Soul - Persona
2. Album Map of the Soul 7 (MOTS:7 released on 21st Feb 2020)
3. Album Map of the Soul: The Journey (Japanese album released on 14th July 2020)
SOME OF THE BEST SONGS FROM BTS THAT HAVE A SOCIAL AND/OR POLITICAL COMMENTARY:
- Bapsae (rich/poor, millennials/boomers)
- Spring Day (Sewol Ferry Tragedy)
- Am I wrong (political)
- Paradise (mental health and race to success)
- Spine Breaker (children breaking their parents' backs just to be "trendy")
- No more Dream (debut song, your dream vs your parents' dream for you)
- N.O. (rigid school system making mindless robots)
They have plenty more especially their solo songs and the boys' individual mixtapes/music (yes they are allowed to create music outside of BTS).
It was fun to get the chance to react to a band who has so much care for their music.
I totally agree. I honestly can’t understand watching these music videos and being emotionally unaffected.
Yeah, you can really tell that they are involved as opposed to those who just perform what they are told. It's pretty cool.
You should check out more BTS's music videos. They all tell a story and it is up to your interpretation. If you want artistic, check out Blood, Sweat and Tear. Another one is Black Swan, but Black Swan is more like an artistic dance performance.
We've had a lot of suggestions for these... stay tuned 😉
We have a Black Swan reaction coming soon! I'm looking forward to those other songs.
@@ChaseAndRemmingtonMusic Lol, if you don't know
BTS actually created it's own Universe in their music videos
Which is why the background scene are not just for show, it conveys stories
Guys, I loved your comments, but it would be great if you would pause the video before commenting since I couldn't understand much of what you were saying. Thank you.
BTS are incredible artists, hard work and quality performance, they dance, sing, rap, compose, produce and more. They are multifaceted whether in a group or alone. Please continue your BTS reactions. Greetings from a Mexican ARMY mom. 💜💜💜💜
Our legendary boy band bts✨ we need more bts content
BTS songs have great lyrics. They are even better live.
I would suggest loser=lover, can't you see me
And more BTS if course
(Also beautiful dancing)
I really really like when you pause and talk. I usually don't deep dive and think too much when watching a music video clip, so I appreciate the thoughts and the discussion :)
There is a french canadian group called "Les cowboys fringants". Their lyrics are really meaningfull. Pairs with the music, it's really...nostalgic, sad, regrets. Talking mostly about how we see the state of the world but can't do anything. If there is translation, it's worth looking.
It's VERY different from kpop
Thanks! We had too much to talk about to not pause in this video. I always like new suggestions so thank you for this too!
Cool. I didn't know about that band. I'll have to check them out. Thanks for the recommendation.
For a little insight BTS write a majority of their own music
Great reactions! Wait till you see BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS, BLACK SWAN, MIC DROP, ON KINETIC MANIFESTO and so many more. Pls do more of bts if you want top tier music videos, lyrics, choreography, and vocals. Armys will be on the look out.. 💜💜💜
I noticed that you guys definitely come out in force for BTS. It's really impressive.
Yeah 😅 We got better after this 😂 Thanks to lots of awesome feedback like this.
I love to witness people understand BTS, their talent and humanity.
So much to listen to. I've been ARMY since 2016 and still I find new meanings everyday.
Fake love whenever you are not true to yourself. I love it.
You guys are amazing. The hands blooming flowers. Brilliant.
I loved this reaction. I would like to see more. Their lyrics are always so good. They do a great job of portraying shadow. 💜
Wow, you needed to be in my literary analysis class. You take on Fake Love got me loving BTS and their depthof creativity once again 💜
haha you're not the first person to say this but I really feel like literary analysis is something I still need to work on 😂
Such a good reaction. Remember when they sing about "Love" it is often not romantic love and if they sing about a "Lover" it is often not about a person.
Couple things Bts has a storyline that runs through their albums called the BTS BU Which this is part of. Just know their is a behind the scenes for all their videos.
Interesting! Thanks for the heads up!
Yeah and that story isn't a simple liniair story and has lot of references to philosophy og psychology
BTS is consisting of three rappers and four vocalists.
If you're interested in BTS' MVs, I recommend....
Mic Drop
Blood sweat & tears
FIRE
On kinetic manifesto film
Black Swan
Save me→I'm fine
Daechwita(Agust D 대취타, Suga's solo)
All of their music videos provide English subtitles. :)
Oh, if you're interested in their lives, I suggest some of them.
Their live performances are always even better than MVs!

Thanks for sharing that. And thanks for the recommendations. It's been an interesting journey starting to experience the band.
Cool. It's interesting to watch it again with that in mind. Thanks!
I agree! We don't mind the pausing for discussion. I quite enjoy it 😌
I loved your reaction. Please keep reacting as BTS will climb into your heart and soul. Lyrics are something you must delve into along with music, dancing and video. You won't be disappointed.
Yea, BTS! You could spend a whole year of your life catching up to their content and still not see it all, lol
Maybe check out some other classics like:
- Fire (a song about resisting the extremely competitive expectations South Korea holds for its people)
- Mic Drop (a clapback at those who bullied them when they were underdogs)
- Black Swan (about the fear of losing passion for the art you once loved to create)
- ON Kinetic Manifesto (a rallying cry to bring on the challenges because they've already overcome so many)
- Airplane Pt 2 (about being modern-day mariachi)
- Spring Day (in memory of victims of the Sewol Ferry tragedy)
Each song has a different flavor to it, but they have many songs in each of those lanes.
I haven't seen anyone recommend it yet, but BTS' The Truth Untold is a great song that further reflects on the themes of this video
Thank you guys, I watched your reaction to all three BTS videos and I hope there will be more.. BTS are one in a million indeed.
Up to the Taylor guide!!
Fun fact/ Easter Egg: Save Me and I'm Fine are also BTS songs and with this particular writing if you turn the Save Me upside down it reads I'm Fine.
People who had no prejudice would meet the whole new world💜💜
Omg you reacted to my suggestion :D tysm
They don’t stick to one genre, literally any genre you ask I can give you a song of theirs.
@@ayoidek6571 It's been a fun journey. Looking forward to more!
Thank you for opening the door, Ayo! 💜
Black Swan, Blood Sweat & Tears, Not Today and Heartbeat are among my favorite MVs from BTS
We actually have a Black Swan reaction coming soon. These songs have been recommended a lot. They must be pretty solid.
Im sure you will enjoy it 😌
And if you want to see the extent of their artistry watch the MVs/short films for the songs Nap of a Star, Magic Island, and Eternally.
I loved your reaction. I am going to keep watching your BTS videos. Keep them coming!!
we theorize that the flower in this song is also the same flower mentioned in another song called The Truth Untold which has a sad background story.
Good to know. The depth and theorization within the BU is starting to remind me of the fan base for the anime One Piece.
@@ChaseAndRemmingtonMusic hope u check out The Truth Untold soon, it's a vocal line only song. The rapline have cyphers by the way and One Piece is mentioned in Cypher part 2.
I love your reactions. You guys go beyond the literal and go into the perceived and the meaning.
Thank you
thank you for the reaction!
while the impression many get is that the songs is abt a relationship, it's deeper than that and is part of their Love Yourself series.
RM (leader, rapper) who is one of the main writers of this song said:
"We're saying that if you're not true to yourself, your love won't last forever.
Borahae from 🇸🇷💜
Borahae!

Thank you! Love your interpretation and the passion for art, poetry, society and the charisma and professionalism of BTS. Be safe! 💜
I really enjoyed your reaction and the fact you picked up on so many references and symbolic messages in the video. Amazing!
Borahae 💜
Stay tuned. There is more coming soon! Welcome to the channel!
just come here after blood sweat and tears and black swan....really blown up on how you guys really seen the music and mv...hope your genuine reaction keep on going....
So glad you reacted to this BTS video!
Thanks so much for checking out BTS. I loved your reaction. I hope to see more from you m
Welcome to the rabbit hole, and thank you for your reaction.
Thank you for your reaction to Fake Love, hopefully the beginning of your journey in BTS rabbit hole. Greetings from a new subscriber from Italy 🇮🇹
Thanks for subbing! Welcome to the channel!
Love this reaction! BTS is amazing, my 17 year old niece introduced me to them 3 years ago and I haven’t looked back since💜
I did not see the subtitles but heard you comment on them 💜 Can you make it so they are visible in the next one you do?

Thanks 💜💜💜
BTS "save me " and "I'm fine" ...go together

Thank you! We've got more where that came from.
Will love to follow your BTS journey
Enjoying your reaction! If you haven’t already, turn on the closed captions- lyrics are really good. Also, consider pausing when you talk so that we can hear your comments.
Awesome reaction!💜 Thank you so much for reacting to BTS!💜 I really hope that you check out more of their stuff. All the best to you both 💜
Thank you! Glad to have you here. We have some more BTS reactions coming soon!
For a real treat, you should look at the behind the scene of this song…go ahead, we will watch with you💜
Good idea!
I fear that if I don't understand it the BTS army will come and get me lol... I mean... not really but the BTS army is seriously strong!
@@whatever_itis "Chipotle" LOL.....BUT seriously those are FACTS!!
Wow I like you guys. Great eye for art.
Thank you so much 😀
I wish I could hear you guys a bit better as it seems your voices are low (maybe just my crappy speakers). Finally someone who has the right idea on who to compare them to. I hear all the time the comparison to other people but they miss the mark in my opinion. Linkin park is a great comparison. There is a clip of two BTS members lip synching a Linkin Park song a few years back.
