Saw your Cayenne scrolling through IG and it’s like the only one I’ve seen that’s built for overlanding. Makes me watch one as my next vehicle. Keep up the good work.
I had over 7 SUV some I loved them and some they didn’t had my interest after doing them up , but after seeing your videos I thought came to mind and I never did a Porsche before , so I’m planning to sale one of my SUVs and get started to look for cayennes .
Really want to get a Cayenne but saw the upkeep and maintenance was way out of my budget. What’s your experience with reliability, do you have a warranty for your Porsche?
What do you think about the other porsche engines? Like 3.6 V6 and 3.0 diesel. Do you think that it is enough for off roading? What are the most important options in cayenne that i need to have?
If I may add, I’m using the Toureg V6 3.6, it’s a good enough off road car. And I’ve managed to get over some terrains that 4x4 pickups weren’t able to. But the downside of the 3.6 or 3 versions they don’t come with the air shocks and differential locks. I tired looking for the v8 4.2. Hope that helps.
I have a 2015 Diesel Cayenne. Unfortunately it isn’t the same off-road platform as yours. I desire to have a more robust off-roader and doubt just putting off-road tires (which I’ve done, BFG KM2’s; no spare) will get me beyond well maintained forest service roads. Prior to the Cayenne purchase, I had a JK Unlimited Rubicon in which I did some very serious off-road trails and never felt I was limited on where I could go. Should I sell the 958 and get a first generation Cayenne to have the better off-road capability or is there a remote possibility the 958 can be upgraded / improved to maybe 75% of your rig?
There is a possibility your 958 could become 75%! You’d likely just need some coilover suspension and larger tires and you’d be set. The diesel should have enough torque for a lot of thing even with no low range.
Harrison more power to you in making your dreams a reality! Regards rallying/competition etc I'd strongly suggest (when the time is right) to invest in some sessions with a reputable rally tutor. People taking up golf get lessons right of the bat but not many think to do it for competitive rallying. I did when I bought my first rally car 25yrs ago :(... money well spent. Growing up on a farm, dirt cars etc helps but pushing a car at 10/10ths on an unfamiliar rutted track is another matter. I'd also suggest (if you don't do it already) start practicing left foot braking so it becomes natural. With your personality you'll make marketing property! :)!
Assuming you’re talking about the touareg. We shook hands, and I then went and test drove the car a second time. When getting on the on-ramp the transmission kicked repeatedly. It would’ve cost me $1k+ to fix right off the bat. Handshake agreement or not, that doesn’t work for me.
@@HarrisonSchoen I heard what you said. But in my culture, a handshake is a contract, and if I shake your hand I will honor my word, I will keep my promise. In my culture you would be seen as lacking morals and ethics, and people wouldn’t want to be associated with you. It’s like in the army or firefighters. What if your colleague says “I’ll come get you out of here” and then after a second look says “sorry buddy, that’s too dangerous”. ..? You gave your word, you shook his hand, and then reneged that promise. That reflects badly on your character. Let me guess… young white America man?
@@lumberjackdreamer6267 paperwork hasn't been signed, you can still back out handshake or not. Would you buy a car with a blown transmission because you shook someone's hand? Probably not.
@@customX09 We disagree. For me, a handshake is a handshake and I keep my word. It goes both way, both parties are equally committed as soon as they shake hands.

Thank you so much! Keep me posted on if you get one!

The gunshots in the background are a fun touch🤣🤣
Nice one, I wish you all the best. Porsches are the best!
Yooo Harrison! Glad I got to meet you this weekend. Hope all is well and keep Killin it!
Yes dude! Glad I was fortunate enough to meet you also!
Smart adventure, you will never regret it
How’s the reliability on the Porsche Cayenne’s?
Bro your killing it, about time we see something different and original! Keep it up.
thank you so much!
Love the content, great stuff dude.
Thank you!!
I went and looked at a Cayenne a few hours ago. I think I need one... :)
I’ve always wanted to know the top speed that one could go in the 955/957s in 1st gear low range? Is it low enough?
Such a cool honest video💯
Thank you so much!

No warranty! It’s been reliable so far with only basic maintenance!

I don't personally have experience with other Porsche engines but I know they do perfectly fine offroad!
@@HarrisonSchoen grate news thanx

That's a Big Goal to work with Porsche, but it's possible! We'll help you to get there!

Have you ever considered buying a roof tent to sleep in instead of in the trunk?
Nope! Not unless I were to receive one for free!
I’m about to get one . That’s at 108k miles for 8k is it with it?
You likely won’t be able to find another for that cheap. They’ve been steadily rising in price
Has 108,000 miles on it I don’t know too much about it yet all I know for a fact there good off road

Since you’re in Utah you should try to up up with TheStradman he is another RUclips or if you didn’t know that
Trying to network my way up to him, but I don’t want to reach out out of the blue!
@@HarrisonSchoen well did you know Starting out he used to live in his car as well
remember me when you need to put together a pit crew :)
When I run the Baja 1000 in a cayenne! ;)
Yo do you have patreon?
No I don't! Possibly in the future but there hasn't felt like a need for it yet!
And the reason why you overland in a Porsche cayenne is.........?????
