Suggested alternative to block ice...1 gal plastic jugs, about 90 % full of water, (ice expands), freeze at home. Cooler stays neat and dry and fresh water available as ice slowly melts in the bottle.
Thanks for the review. We just bought th pt55 and it failed to get down to temperature set first time we plugged it in and every time thereafter . Now trying to get some traction with Setpower.
I’m sorry to hear that my friend, I hope you are able to get a resolution. Sometimes there can be a bit of difference between the posted temperature and actual temperature I have found on some models.(not my SetPower btw) Sometimes they run a bit warm or cold. If you consistently find this you can adjust your temps accordingly. Hope that helps.
I guess you could still bring ice but it takes up more room. These little freezers are pretty efficient these days. Pre chilling them for a day or two at home helps a lot. Thanks for the question!
Great review! I just got mine and plugged it in to try it out but I can’t tell if I’ve got it in Celsius mode or Fahrenheit mode. The instructions say it will show a C or an F for the given mode but so far mine doesn’t do that. Any hints?
I had the same confusing issue actually. If you can go down past -4 it means you are in Celsius. That was what I determined and it seems to work all right for me. Hope you enjoy your cooler my friend👍
@@Woodswalker1965 The first test went very well. I got the magnetic 216Wh battery pack so doing some run tests to determine how long it will power the unit in different temperature environments.
Nice review, thanks. Next time, use the fridge with the cigarette lighter adapter instead. It’s more efficient than using the AC adapter and will result in a longer runtime. Otherwise, you’re converting DC to AC, and back to DC.
It’s nice not to take up volume with ice. Can’t believe how much we can fit in this. Very convenient for camping and grocery runs.
So handy for sure!👍
It is amazing how good camping gear has become. Thank you for demonstrating how to get the best results with this unit. Be well.
No more roughing it, we now smooth it haha😁

That works too👍
I am impressed. Was not aware of Setpower. I need to look more closely at this. Thanks for sharing Wade..BTW..like the hoodie😉
Pretty sure I saw the same hoodie peaking out as a mid layer on a recent vid of yours ?😉haha

Your in snow…….????
@@benbowles8003 Sometimes yes😃⛄️
Isnt putting ice in the freezer kinda helping the cooler work less?

Very true thanks for the reminder. I appreciate you watching!
Nice unit. Leg of lamb 😂
So random lol
I do not get it. If this fridge is so great how can it be almost three times cheaper than others? What is the catch?
No catch as far as I know.
Mostly the compressor. Higher priced 12v fridge/freezers use a Cecop(Foss) compressor, not a no name unit.
