Western Star...were custom built here in Canada 🇨🇦, in British Columbia before being bought out by Freightliner, sadly. Were a tough truck, used mostly in the forest industry. I grew up with those trucks in Newfoundland. Very popular in the woods industry
I drove several of the old Western Stars over the years. Also the long hood, even older model style in the seventies. Actually, that one was my favourite. Also an old Whyte Western Star with a 5+4 transmission. I liked them all. Mr. Schaffer has done a lot of work in a short time to this truck. Just give him a few more months and then let us see the truck again, would be my wish. Thanks.
Thanks i love the old Western Stars. I have a 1994 4864F and mine is exactly the same inside except has the blue vinyl interior and a 15spOD. Used to drive many WS trucks over the years and they were very good solid old trucks back then. My favorites to drive were late 80s and early 90's 4964, 4900 and 6964 models for a company i drove for, all of them had Cummins KTA 19 600hp motors with 18 speed trans and air starters in all of them pulling triple side tippers, road train work in western Australia carting gold ore. Those were the days! Absolutely awesome rigs. Thanks for the tour 👍
The long term owner was Willie Davis. He pulled flat bed a lot of years and belly dump in his later years. The bunk was pulled off for the belly dump tonnage hauls. The frame was from a peterbilt if I remember right.
The truck I woukd like to have is Waylon Jennings old B-75 Mack. It is supposedly in Canada. If anyone here can help track it down, I will buy it and restore it.
Cool truck, real workhorse nice, 🤠👍💯

Sharp truck all the way around. Thought it was a glider with the Peterbilt rear suspension. Cool to find out the history of the truck.
Western Star logo is cool.
