    1:32 Man Utd. gambled on Alexis Sánchez. A free agent at the time, who got a huge contract. But he completly fell down the drain in onfield results. And Man utd. could not get rid of him. As long as he held up his part of the contract off the field they had to pay him.
    The same could happen with Haaland, thats the gamble..

    • @ojt6627
      @ojt6627 6 дней назад

      Man United could at least ship Sanchez to another club when he didn't work out for the Red Devils
      When you think of Emiliano Sala's case: Nantes sold him for the club record fee, he would also be an all-time most expensive signing for Cardiff City FC, and Cardiff desperately needed him to strengthen their squad to stave off relegation in 2018-19 season
      Unfortunately, Sala died in the plane crash when flying from Nantes to Cardiff, thus never playing for the Welsh club. And it was a terrible tragedy for the football world as a whole
      But after that, the real shitshow started. Cardiff argued that they shouldn't pay for Sala's transfer, since they never got the player. Nantes tried to get the money that was contractually obligated, which led to hearings in CAS, investigations into the pilot's license and credentials, possible malpractice in choosing the pilot who wasn't certified to fly the plane with passengers onboard, all that jazz

    • @SHyaway64
      @SHyaway64 5 дней назад

      @ gridiron was a term used, but football has always been the predominant. Most people falsely believe it’s called football because you kick a ball with your foot, however the original term was used to describe a game played on your feet. Rugby was the first football game, and from it came soccer, American football,
      Australian football, and probably more that I don’t know off the top of my head. The term soccer was used to differentiate between the game we know today and rugby, which were both called foot ball. Fast forward and soccer has far outgrown its original sport, rugby (or foot ball), so everyone just started calling it football. Well, everyone except the US, AUS, and some other countries. Because while soccer outgrew rugby, Australian football and American football were still their respective countries biggest versions of the game, so they kept the term soccer and use “football” to describe their version of the original “foot ball” game, rugby.
