Thanks for the memories! This is the year I travelled with 3 girlfriends in a Mini from London to Cornwall for our summer holiday. Your video is wonderful to watch as it reminds me just how vibrant it was with so much going on. Look at the trains and rail system, a fishing industry and families enjoying the simple pleasures in life! I moved to Cornwall 15 years later and love it still but oh, how it’s changed! Makes me feel sad and nostalgic for what’s been lost forever.
I was born in 1964, and I have always lived in the mid-Cornwall area. I love these films, but it really makes me wistful at how much we have lost. Cornwall is an awful mess these days. I suppose when you get to a certain age you do find yourself saying 'things were better in my day', but I genuinely think they were.
I went to truro in 2000 , it was a really lovely place, a city if i remember correctly, it hadn't changed that much just cars and people. This film shows the mix of the old and new road signs.

Thankyou for letting us see this picture of the past.

Take St Austell for example. Systematically destroyed, all at the ratepayers expense.
Enough said.
@@maxwellfan55i remember St Austell being a great little town, such a shame. Much like many Cornish towns 😢
I was 3 months old when this was filmed😬 55 years later and wishing I could have experienced this pure enchanted way of life🥰
