I went to Arby's a couple weeks ago to buy the fish sandwich, but I switched the bun out for the onion one. Pretty good.

The filet-o-fish is divine when it's fresh. As soon as I saw the sheen missing from the steamed bun, I knew it was gonna be trash since it was cold.
To me it's better then them all when fresh, although never had Arby's

True THAT!! If you get the fish sandwich made fresh it's not half bad but you do have to ASK for a fresh one and be prepared to wait. Cheese is a waste of time. Double patty, light mustard and extra tartar is all you need. Yum.🤤🤤🤤

The flavor of the filet-o-fish fish filet on its on destroys all them other ones. It tastes like fish not breaded water.

I worked part time during high school from 75 to 77 and McD jad at that time just 1/2 slice of American cheese. Kitchen crew had to cut the pack of cheese into half slices.
The franchise owner who invented the filet o fish only used half a cheese slice so as to not overpower the fish taste.
I like the filet- o- fish from McDonald's I'm glad they have it all year round! It's just a bit pricey for me, is all!

All true, it's unique style and flavor from the others, the pricey. Just wanted to say that the MCD is hit up allow you to add pickles without an extra charge and if you get lucky, they use the good pickles from their new chicken sandwiches and not the Big Mac weak-ass ones. YMMV
Arby’s uses Kings Hawaiian bread, so that’s why they call it the Kings Hawaiian deluxe fish sandwich.
Speaking for me personally, it's Wendy's (panko hits), Popeyes (spice is nice), and McDonald's (nostalgia factor). Arbys missed the mark with the flavors, but you said it and rings true...always depends on who's in the lab making and preparing it but always appreciate the content.. Keep doing what you do 🙌
i'm not thrilled with the sweetness of the bun on the Arbys fish. To me, those flavors don't go together. i think i'll ask for a regular bun if i get another.
I love that during Lent the fish sandwiches at Arby's are always on sale, usually $5. I skip the fries and soda to make myself feel like i'm not cheating too much.

I love McDonald's Filet-O-Fish. Btw: they always served it with a 1/2 slice of cheese. But, when it's fresh, it's so good. I'll be trying Wendy's fish sandwich soon. 🐟

Without watching I know it's Arby's. But McDonald's Fish is a official Classic since the BLUE PAPER. The Best fish sandwich was in elementary School in NYC IN The 80'S WITH THE CHEESE ON THE INSIDE OF THE FISH PATTY... Forget the rest.

I worked at McDonald's 1978-79. It always had the half slice "landing strip" of cheese and the steamed bun to go along with the same cod rectangle and tarter sauce.
I like that the Wendy's is wild caught & they give you enough lettuce, pickles, mayo, & cheese. You never know where the fish came from with the other sandwiches, but that Arby's one looks bangin. I like that they use Hawaiian bread too. Hmm..ok I may need to try both. 😊

Popeyes is literally called a FLOUNDER sandwich, fyi, from the Northern Pacific Ocean.
Suggest you try Culvers!! We love their fish!!

McD's has used just half a slice of cheese on their fish sandwich for a long time. The sandwich is tiny, used to be my favorite.
Culver's has a great fish sandwich, but it's tiny too.
I love onions. I wasn't too impressed with the Wendy's or Popeye's ones when I had them. I really like the McDonald's Filet-o-fish though. I get it without cheese.

I got home from Popeye's drive thru and almost ordered the pie. Seeing JL eat that apple pie made me instantly regret not buying it. Damn.
Key with McDonalds is get it cooked fresh. It can't sit even 5 minutes. I love it because it's not loaded with stuff so you can taste the fish.
Fish sandwiches are made because of lenten season starting on Ash Wednesday middle of February and ends on early April on Easter Sunday. Catholics fast on Fridays and abstain from meat. Hence, launch of Fish Sandwiches at a limited time.
I love onions on my sandwich as well but not on fish sandwich, and I can agree on your placing of the sandwiches. The one good thing about McDonald's is that their fish is a part of the permanent menu, one thing I will say about the Popeye sandwich is that at times it can be over breaded but tastes great otherwise. If you have one nearby try the fish sandwich from Bojangels and Captain Ds. Thanks for the vid😀
I will always have a soft spot in my heart for the Filet-o-Fish.... There needs to be a full slice of cheese, of course. When freshly made and consumed, it's delicious. Steamed bun, extra tartar sauce, it's delicious. 😋👍

My son and I always talk about the big wigs sitting around some conference table at McD's headquarters trying to figure out how to save costs. One of them suggests, "what if we only give half a piece of cheese on the filet-o-fish?" They all cheer. But as the consumer, I want my whole piece of cheese back McD! I feel ripped off!

I agree about Arby's !!..also try the " Bojangler " at Bojangles and the one at Dairy Queen is also very good...their bread is artisan and extra soft ...I always just get mine tartar sauce only to alleviate any messed up toppings !!I

JL, the Wendy's in DFW area no longer has the fish sandwich. In the past my favorite fish sandwich for the limited run was from Jack and the Box

This is for Lent, for people who don’t know why fish sandwiches come out during Feb-April.
I like the crispy Arby's fish sandwich not the one on the Hawaiian bread. Love McDonald's fish when they cook it right. Popeyes was a little to fishy tasting to me , meaning it had as strong taste that I didn't particularly care for. And Wendy's fish sandwich was a no the first time I tried it, I'm willing to try it again. Bojangles fish wasn't to bad either, Culver's fish sandwich depends on which Culver's you go to. But Freddie's fish is EVERYTHING...TRY IT!!!
Try the onion bun instead of the Hawaiian. Really good.

I had the Arby's fish sandwich and was far from impressed. A lot of it has to do with what store you go to. Some are better than others but really nothing compares to the dish sandwich you could make at home. It can be time consuming acquiring the ingredients but the results are well worth it.💯💯💯

It's done for Lent. Arby's is the best. Hawaiian roll was used on the Arby's, and that why it tastes a little sweet. I liked the flat bread they used before. McDonald's started selling fish sandwiches in the '70s for practicing Catholics who didn't eat meat on Fridays. That's why people have Friday fish frys.

Arby's fish is probably twice the size of the McDonald's.
It's bigger than Wendy's fish too. I got one from Wendy's awhile back and it was flat and over cooked. In fact McDonald's fish might have been a bit thicker thank Wendy's(not by much)...

Mcdonalds has been outta pocket for over 10 years, Mickey D's was the legend back in the high school days, McChicken costing $1.09 now that shyts like 4$ and has cheap, thin, dry chicken, always made nasty like slop, tastes old, everything is cold, and cheap compared to how it used to be.. Chicken used to be the best of fast food, now it's the worst. Remember snack wraps? Chicken Club sandwiches? Tenders? Unique Angus burgers n shyt...? McDonalds by me even had a damn lobster roll lmfao, now the menu has been basic for years, with nothing new ever... I don't know if I was just really high back in those days but past 20 plus times I had McDonalds they've been over priced, and everything was horrible, maybe it's just New York, but R.I.P... damn. lol

I usually go to Mac Donald's for a fish fillet with extra tartar sauce and extra cheese. It's pretty good not the best I've tasted!

My local McD's fish is not at all dry. I do get it plain. No tartar, no cheese. Just fish and bun. Moist. But yeah, it's been truly sus at other locations.
