I really do love the sound of the low passages.
Got mine just ready for maiden. Now waiting for maiden weather condition.
Keep on the good work.
Many happy landings!
glad to see you guys partnering with audible. absolutely love them
You guys need the sweede back
Yes 100% right
YES
No Kidding..! Genital Lady ? That was my first RC aircraft and last stick build. Had a blast flying it what about 30 years ago. I just got back into RC and now flying quadcopters. Love you guys channel. My pic is a selfi from my Ares Ethos. Keep up the good guys. Peter...Keep building those crazy flying machines.
Rich
You gave solid advice when stepping up into this class machine. btw minimum throttle makes a good air brake.
I love flite test and I bought a tablet just to watch there shows $200 well spent I love this channel and hopes it lasts forever
On the product page (linked above) it states that the fuselage pod is fiberglass and the tail boom is carbon fiber. So as long as your receiver antenna is not in the boom portion (or in it's shadow) you will be fine. That said, it doesn't hurt to have it outside :).
Nice review.
Cheers,
J
Good product to review, thanks. Made me look at something I might not have. Love the sound.
My problem with you guys reviewing...?? I always want to buy it !!! Lol. Thanks for the hard work :)
I love the Kunai. I bought it 3 years ago and I have no regrets other than not buying it sooner.
The Goldberg Gentle Lady was my first Rc plane. Built with yellowwood glue in 1979. Made my hi start from used surgical tubing from the hospital. I still have what is left of it. Used standard size servos futaba s148s
These are the episodes I absolutely love!
I would love to see more warm liners!!! And throw in hot liner every now and then!! Nice show.
Thanks for the great review. This is one plane you have reviewed that is going into my must buy list.
Great review guys as ALWAYS! I request more indoor plane reviews and led lighting on planes. Thanks!!!
Great plane! And I really hope that episode will come where you guys explane glider settings and when to use which.
Awesome recovery of the multi rotor at the end of the video.
For many of us the Gentle Lady was our first glider! I have been considering this as my next plane but wasn't sure about the performance. This looks amazing, especially for $129. Thanks for the video guys! BTW: I really enjoy building balsa kits, it's to bad that much of what is readily available today in the local shops are geared towards the RTF crowd.
Yes. More proper gliders on flitetest please.
I'm glad that you guys are expanding your reach into different aspects of our wonderful hobby. I would love to see a DLG build as well as some more Helis! Keep the sweet vids coming.
I'd like to see more sailplanes. Warm-liners, hot-liners, whatever. More sailplanes. Great videos, guys!
I've been waiting to see another warmliner since you reviewed the Dynamic-S. Would love to see you guys setup and fly a Wilco F5B
Cool. Glad to see this review. I bought a Kunai and love it. I keep it in the back of my car. I would love to see more glider type planes, maybe a beginner DLG Guide?
that is one SWEET piece of flying at 9:15...nice...want this plane.
By the way, in case you're wondering, Kunai is the name of a ninja's throwing stars/knives. In case someone was curious. And it's pronounced pretty much as Josh said it :)
I really enjoyed the Kunai flite test. More please!
Like the new crew... Alex, Eric, and duct tape. Keep em coming!
Great plane and video! Actually, the main section of the fuselage is molded fiberglass. Just the boom is carbon fiber. So there should be no concern about radio reception with the antenna inside.
I loved Flite Test in these days....
I've always wanted a glider. And I love pilon racers like my freewing moray. Great idea to combine the two.
Yeah, please more from this stuff! I love warmliner and hotliner ;)
I'm just about done putting this together. After hearing your comments about epoxy, I will reenforce the bottom part of the wing that is in the fuselage. I plan to use it for slope soaring in high winds here in the Canadian Rockies.
Any ideas other than spoilerons for slowing down? I have to land on steep hillsides in strong winds.
I have a beautiful old powered Gentle Lady! Fantastic plane. even with a huge battery and a massively overpowered motor. I love flying her. She was my first plane and first balsa build.
I think you guys should do a build on the a-10. With all the speed build kits and stuff. I just thought that would be a really cool and fun project. If you can
Do more EDFs! I love the sound and speed! It would be great to start some or more of those builds as well. I only know of the viggen I believe it was?
i love the great tips and reminders such as the carbon fiber vs antenna stuff, always great to be reminded of how carbon fiber doesn't help the reciever, great video, looks like a sweet flying plane!
Thanks guys. I’m getting back in to gliders and just ordered one of these to get my feet wet.
Great video guys that warmliner looks sweet btw Josh you think you could do a review of hobbyking's new BIX 3????
really slick looking. love it.
Nice. I'm curious - I know nothing of electrics - You say you got '8 minutes on a 1300mAh 3S', so how long does it take to charge back up and go flying again? Do you carry extra, charged up batteries and swap them out? Or is that too much trouble being there's so little room and if you recharge on the field, do you use like a 12VDC gelcel? It's four years later, maybe someone else could answer and thanks.
Great episode guys
ATB Malc
Thank you Flite test team. I am a newbie to the hobbies and I enjoyed your work so much, it is so enjoy to watch your test flight. Good job! Please keep up the good work!
I wanted to order the Rx-R version, do u know if the stock esc can run 4s?
Wow that looks like a nice plane!
Great review as allways, would be super quick on 4 cell im sure..Any chance you can review the Twisted Hobbys-Crack Turbo Beaver, its a bit fun an wacky like you guys. Thanks
Looks like a good plane if it's that easy to fly.
I couldn't help noticing that Great Planes don't mention anything about the epoxy and other glues on their main advert page. You have to go and look at the user manual before you find that out. So I wonder if people might buy this without realizing.
Great video, love seeing the new content, it's always great!
Personally I would love to see some more FPV... maybe some flying wings or something:)
Thanks!
Definitely going to get this kit next pay day. Very convenient it works off S-FHSS so I won't need another transmitter and I won't have to bind to a futaba With the XK futaba authorized transmitter! One question with the Rx-R version, where can I find the correct receiver I need? I would assume It's on their site but I can't seem to find it. Sorry I'm pretty new to getting anything other than RTF so any help would be awesome!
Thanks guys. More hotliner reviews please :-)
Gliders are awesome
Kunai is ninja throwing knife, so it's realy fits this plane :D
Review more planes like this !
You guys mentioned the whistle the plane made. How about building a JU-87 Stuka dive bomber and see if you can replicate the trumpets of Jericho in a dive.
Could you please review the Multiplex Solius?
That would be cool!
Another thing:
your 3pack (delta, nutball and flyer) is realy easy to build and they just fly awesome!
Please go on like this :)
I changed Direction of Rotation for Improved Air flows with Stock motor Rotation! 700 series Rotor head could hold 6 of the motors I am using Now & Balsa Construction is Stronger than 1st Foam that Drooped over Time?
I would love to see more hotliners! =)
ok one more closer to that 2m nioce💜 nothing but love
Josh (Bixler),
I've grown up on flitetest and love your method of instruction and the reviews you all do, I've even purchased numerous kits (shipped to Korea!). I'm requesting a GOOD indepth tutorial on the Expos and settings (rates) that you briefly touched on. I cut my teeth on Multi-rotors and have just made the transition (via Apprentice and the "Care (ie: rare) Bear). The help with instructions for the expos/rates (Especially with the Futaba!!!!!!!).
THANKS!
Corey
Btw, great job with the chase cam
Hi flite test. Could I suggest doing another Radian video? The first one by the way. Im about to buy one and it would be cool if you could do a review on it. :)
Cheers
I want to see you guys check out extremeflight RC's edge 540T.
Hey @FliteTest, add the links to your related videos at the end of this video, in the description. Annotation s don't work on mobile., and good job, big fan
Like the fast planes!
Josh, to answer your question, there are a few guys on the RC-Groups forum who are using 4s. How they get a 4s in that little pod, I have no idea.
Do a review on the Parkzone Habu 2!! I want one, but I want to see what you have to say
Does a Turnigy NanoTech 3S 1500mAh (88x34x21mm) fit in there?
Tried to find a model for this on Knife Edge Swap Pages.... nothing. Someone PLEASE make one!
Please review the parkzone sukhoi su29-mm
Would like to see the Bix3!
We've had 3 Bixler's on order for about a month. Awaiting their arrival patiently:)
FliteTest what happened to the j-scott?
Futaba 8FG. Very easy to program compared to Spektrum. But it all depends on what you use more often.
hi guys where can you get one of your teeshirts \ sweater\ hoodie s with the flite test logo on ? thanks fellas and keep the great videos coming.
Hi guys - nice video!! Where is the CG of the Kunai? Thanks
big5astra According to the manual "The recommended beginning C.G. location is 2-3/4" [70m] back from the leading edge of the wing where it meets the fuselage" - that "m" probably should be mm though ;)Manual: manuals.hobbico.com/gpm/gpma1815-1816-manual.pdf
This is so cool! I must get one!!
I would like to see more quadcopters, and fpv.
So when are we gonna get an FT "Lukewarm"-Liner swappable? Seriously though. A hot-liner style plane with FT flare would be an interesting new build! Make it happen guys!
Forgive me if this is covered in detail elsewhere, but can anyone let me know what onboard cameras are being used here? The quality is superb.
+MarkXP i think they are mobious...
What cameras do you have on this ?
I saw 3 views??
Doug
Do A Review on The Glassair Sportsman!!
ooh burning josh scott
how about some one liners ........
great show guys ;)
Make a Bohm Voss 141!!! this airplane need some recognition
Looks fun, but definitely not something I would want ASAP. Looks like more fun than a Radian though. I'm curious what kind of camera they used for the edge of the wing shots. A GoPro seems like it would be too heavy. Mobius im guessing?
Need more multi-rotors! =D
You are right! It's a Mobius!
hey can you guys show a video on how to hook up stuff to the DJI 1.1 like gimbal and FPV stuff thanks
Guys, a Kunai is the name for the throwing knifes that the ninjas used in Japan.
Can you made i quick video how FPV beginners can start in to this and which planes are good for that . Please :D
Good video i like this plane :D
sorry i mean ,, a quick video''
I'd like to hear you talk about why you only seem to fly electric. What are the benefits compared to combustion? Aren't there any interesting combustion multirotors? Did you ever fly combustion and switched to electric, or has it always been electric? My first plane was a combustion engine plane but after I crashed the flight school learner plane I got scared and never finished my own. That was about 20 years ago and I never flew rc since. I have a few cars, electric and combustion and I prefer the noisy one... So anyway, could you talk about that? Thanks! Greetings from Sweden
Review more HK products please.
HK and ft are enemies HK stole sweed from ft
Alpatriod What baloney! You obviously haven't listened to the flitetest podcast that featured the HK crew.
The sweede is only away from flite test because his international visa ran out
Alpatriod Evan Forst UKHeliBob David parted ways with Flite Test to pursue his own personal projects. We respect and support his decision and we encourage you to do the same.
FliteTest
Dave was fun guy on FT.
What would be a good radio for this? I'm just getting back into the hobby and RES sail-planes just aren't cutting it any more so my old focus 3 has to be replaced. Thanks
+tsunamiblast88 I installed an Orange R615x but naked without the case and just wrapped in tape.
That allowed the rx to fit below the control wires.
Also, if you use micro servos you can fit these side by side, giving more space for the power items.
Would love to see more speed oriented planes. :)
What camera are you using on the wing?
I got one. Assembled it but use a Dx6 transmitter so I had to use a comparable Dx AR 400 receiver. After binding, all the servos work but the motor beeps continuously and the motor will not run. Thoughts? Thanks. -Paul
I'm hoping you've sorted this by now, but for anyone with a similar problem, that beeping is telling you that the ESC needs calibrating - move your throttle to the max - plug the battery in to the ESC, two beeps - move the throttle to minimum - 3 beeps and you're good to go
Anything like this on the market now? Thinking about getting into gliding
I really want to see the Libelle DLG by Dream Flight.
What wing camera are you using?
I was thinking about the versa wing because I want to get one but don't have the money yet. Can you put solar panels on the top to try and make the flight time longer? Or even fly till night time?
Yes but the added weight of the solar panels would be negate the battery power so you would end up with a more expensive, more complicated, heavier plane
james kisslow could it mabe be done with the krackin don't think I spell that right
wbap hellcat Solar is not very practical on a small scale. Its a lot of money for not a lot of power.
f7497 I dont care so much about how good it works as long as it can add flight time because people are working on paint that works like a solar panel
wbap hellcat Solar will weigh it down and reduce the flight time
seems like it needs some of the extendable speed brakes that some of the others have....
No lie, my first plane was a Gentle Lady that was also red and yellow monokote! :D
I want one!
MUY BONITO PLANEADOR
Just bought one for hang-waiting =)
More reviews like the old videos of the channel, where you guys were always just picking out a plane and flying it.
