House music is the ultimate king, every genre tries to imitate but can never win, but us house heads also have the classical and jazz musicians to thank for our being.
The sample is dope and I like the fact that I would have NEVER known about this song if it wasn't on Nicki's album. Now I think I dig house music a little. 2 "new" songs for me to dance to. Nice!
I love this comment b/c you didn’t insult anyone, you were honest on how you found this track, AND you’re expanding your taste... you’re doing great sweetie.
I'm glad Nicky Minaj producers sampled this. It's exposing a generation to a sound that they would never get to hear normally on mainstream hip hop radio or even pop radio.
It still won't expose a lot of people tho. I played this mix to a group and they seemed like they hated it. They'd prefer to hear Drake, Nicki and Wayne. Its unfortunate.
face it people...for 40+ years hip-hop has been a culture that takes samples of tracks from every genre of music. One more thing, to all the purist who hate the new commercial hip-hop music of today because it all seems to be marketed to kids with the content being about young people partying, glitz/glam, catchy beats and rhymes, JUST REMEMBER, in 1973 hip-hop was started in the recreational center at the bottom of a housing project by young people partying and looping the breakdown or intro drums of disco, rock, soul, jazz and funk records. And all they were doing was HAVING FUN! Bottom line, stop taking music so serious and have fun with it!
I could do that if they music today was fun. It's not. Some of it is good and there are a fuckton of really good artist. Clear Soul Forces, Joey Badass, and yes, Kendrick Lamar, to name a few but they are more underground. The majority of crap that is being played on the airwaves for mass consumption is garbage. Trust me, I used to be a true 90's purist but I realize that there are good artist out here but a lot of this is bullshit. Like this song "Truffle Butter" was cool and I liked it until I looked up what the title actually was. If I was a young kid who looked that up I might that it was straight. It's not. We have to take what we put out there seriously if it's dumb shit like that.
and reggae, Dancehall, HipHop was influenced from Dancehall music, rapping comes from Jamaica 🇯🇲, smh. A Jamaican DJ kool Herc started hiphop, do some research please. HipHop really swag jock Jamaican Dancehallraggae music

After hearing this, I appreciate deeply how Drake, Nicki, and Wayne remixed this... cause I never would have thought to spin it the way they did let alone make a hip hop beat out of it
As a House Music Producer I knew it would happen sooner or later as soon as I heard the B3 organ ( Dj Mustard) appeared in hip hop songs and they are wearing it out the same way we did in the 90's. Sampling saved a lot of Soul and R&B artist gave them come backs and upfront Industry Respect. Something most House Producers and especially Singers Didn't get. May some of us will get something out of Hip Hop's new found energy source, don't hate the player hate the game remember we sampled too all you people that can't part with that dusty AKAI S950 or S1000 LOL. Only difference it was shocking then now people get paid when they get sampled either through royalties ( Good Luck Strictly Rythum, EightBall and Nervous own that...) or comebacks. Finally Maya and your people find your check from this.
Incredible how sampling can expose you to a genre that u would hv nvr crossed over into..The residuals from this sample alone will probably eclipse her annual gig & production take..Trust that
when I first heard this Truffle B Rap song I knew it was some type of old school Chicago/New York House music being sampled. I didn't know it's new. Great song ...I wish more music was being played like this on the radio or clubs.
I heard this song in Amsterdam in one of the coffee shops, then when I heard Nicki sample this I instantly had to find the original I knew exactly where the sample came from.
I'm on here because of the same ting. thought I ain't heard this tune for a bit and found it blanked out my playlist 😭😭😭 tired of Spotify removing my favs
sorry for what? for giving her exposure? for getting paid money/royalties for the use of the sample? You realize that when nicki ninaj sampled this she had to get the ok from maya right? That means that maya made a conscientious decision to allow this song to be sampled. Also this song itself makes use of sampling so I highly doubt that Maya is torn up about allowing this to be sampled. Also this might sound insane to you, but maybe Maya actually appreciates nicki minaj's music. Just a thought, not everyone is as close minded as you.

this music has taken the bounce from the old skool tuff jam garage and smashed it with the house sound boom boom silence boom ohhhh just whatever deep house and tech has proven house is boss !!! love xx
I really wish people would understand that without the producers who come up with theses tracks and mix them together, all these "artist" would be so stuck, most of the time i'm happy to hear all these original tracks without anyone "rhyming" or "singing" on them, this beat is so hot just by its self.

If you can't decipher my comment and comprehend what I meant, then it no one else's problem but yours. I never said you owed Nicki Minaj anything, I never said more people listen to rap music. But if the artist in question publicly states that the sampling of her song (which has no doubt gained a few more listeners who just happen to be rap fans) is positive then your opinion is invalid.
This track did NOT need to be introduced to a bunch of mainstream imbeciles. It had its real fans to begin with who actually understand and appreciate deep house and will continue to do so. it's underground for a reason, everything that turns mainstream turns into shit.
JACQUELiNEx29 i don't understand. what do you mean, "leave deep house underground" and "reserve it only for those who are truly interested in the music"? do you mean that "mainstream imbeciles" who do not "actually understand and appreciate deep house" ought not be given the opportunity to be introduced to this track? why? because you feel that they don't deserve to listen to it?

That's a banger, true house. .chills ❤
This song has been my ringtone since 2010
I'm glad Nicky Minaj producers sampled this. It's exposing a generation to a sound that they would never get to hear normally on mainstream hip hop radio or even pop radio.
It's also good to hear that the song Truffle Butter actually made hip hop and deep house mix well.
They've done it before with "Chris Brown- Show Me" along with a string of other mainstream songs sampled from Robin S
Yeah but most people believe drake or nicki made the best.
It still won't expose a lot of people tho. I played this mix to a group and they seemed like they hated it. They'd prefer to hear Drake, Nicki and Wayne. Its unfortunate.
Bryan Ross No one beats this original....genius work from Maya
