I've had a few questions in comments in regards to buying guitars recently which I always enjoy talking about.
Perhaps the biggest one most of face is the initial "should I buy another one"?
If you are going through that question then here are my thoughts on if you should or shouldn't buy a new guitar.

Another factor is when you start to record - even home recording- you might think a baritone guitar, an acoustic, a slide might be attractive. And now there are all sorts of MIDI options!

Always consult Mr. Shudabai prior to any musical equipment purchases.

I got my guitar many years ago when I was still quite young and never got into it until recently. I really dislike the guitar I have and it has quite a thew issues. I play it every day even if I don’t like what I’m playing on but I don’t know if I’m good enough or “worthy” of buying a more expensive medium end guitar that I actually want and like

Excelent video! I new guitar is a big reward after the study! And a big stimulus

Excellent advice, and years ago I went thru a period of bad GAS, bought several guitars, and after a few years realized the stupidity of it, and sold everything. Now, I have two e-bass guitars, and one Player HH Tele which will get upgraded pickups, a new wiring harness / input jack, and maybe a fret level if neccessary.
Do I want to buy another Tele? Yes, a Partscaster with Lollar Vintage T single coils. Is it necessary? No. So, as soon as I get more pressing issues in order, it will be time for Jazz lessons / studies.
    * Having said that, I think a future 'Partscaster', or modded single coil Tele as a REWARD for a year of consistent Jazz study would be reasonable.
Thanks so much for all your videos.

Great video. I understand space limitations for sure. I own many many guitars and amps and am at the point of selling dome because my home is starting to look like Guitar Center lol

I think if your gear is holding you back; you have a poorly built guitar that hurts to play or sounds bad, you have an amp that doesn’t sound good, etc., then new gear is a must. But buying new gear because you think it’s going to make you a better player might be just another lie we tell ourselves to justify getting something new. If you want a new piece of gear buy be honest with yourself and admit you want it because you want it, not because it’s going to magically make you the next Jim Hall or Wes Montgomery.

many years of buying and selling... so easy now with the internet.... I would say also prepare to take a loss on any guitar you buy. Don't assume that a "vintage" or expensive guitar is going to work better for you.

I am more a Traditional buyer than say Rack mounted digital gear or new shape guitars, or pedals, 335 rather than a Steinberg, Telecaster rather than an Ibanez!!!........Gotta say though, I do like Flat top acoustics!!!?..🎸🎸🎸🎸🕴🏼.......✍🏼

@@jamieholroydguitar 25.5 scala, its big ,and 17.5 body,to sitt with, but the money in the bank will be less worth in 10 years, i think it is a safe buy in the topp conditjon.fits nice beside the 1939 ephiphone zephyr,or zenith ,wich by the way locks like its had a tough life, but sounds and play topp.
