If I were standing while watching Judge Simpson and he said 'SIT DOWN', I would immediately sit my butt down. Mad respect for him, betting he's a great father.
Absolutely
Whenever he gives instructions like that I want to sit down/be quiet/whatever he says even though I'm here in my home in North Carolina 😂
Ew brother ew
Judge Simpson is my absolute favorite! He wasn't playing today.
Fleischer is better
@dannythunder3180 He's a close 2nd. I love him also and watch his dockets. At first he came off as intimidating, until you see how much he cares about the people he comes across. He leaves no stone unturned and I highly respect him.
@@USAnurse-97 Fleischer does what he can to find alternatives to throwing people in jail
@dannythunder3180 a lot of these judges do. To get thrown into jail, you really have to be a non-compliant idiot who thinks they don't have to follow the rules of probation or what these judges set aside for them. I see these people come into the ER, refusing this and that, being belligerent and non-compliant time and time again and thinking they are the victims. The vast majority of the time, they are given chance after chance bf going to jail. The fault lies on these kids who won't take accountability...like this moron we see right before us.
I'm a teacher, and the second I heard about the assault I immediately lost all sympathy for the defendant. Middle school kids can be trying. But you're the adult. Act like it.
Yeah, if you have boundaries that can't be crossed without you becoming verbally or physically abusive, you need to find a different profession. I've taught in schools where the disrespect was shocking to my non-teacher friends and family. This student wasn't even _being_ disrespectful.
I was a middle school teacher for 2 years and hated every minute of it. The kids are horrible and their parents are worse. Of course we had 1 teacher show up drunk and 1 teacher got high on her lunch… middle school should be banned all together 🤪🤣
skipped over the bit where the 340pd 6'4 student attacked him!
@@danquaylesitsspeltpotatoe8307 even if that were true, you're not really allowed to defend yourself as a teacher. It sucks but it's true. I've been given training on defensive maneuvers and restraint techniques and it prioritizes the kid's safety over yours. Because they are a child. And in this case the child was disabled (if only temporarily).
How is a student walking away an attack? The student had been told to do push-ups as a punishment. The student told the teacher that he had a wrist injury, and therefore could and would not do push-ups. The teacher got in the students face and spoke in a threatening/inappropriate manner. The student then tried to walk away, the teacher followed him and strangled him. The teacher only stopped when multiple staff members intervened.
In what world is that an attack on the part of a student???? if that counts as a student attacking, I'm a kumquat @@danquaylesitsspeltpotatoe8307The defendant was definitely wanting to use his family. However, I don't think it's a stupid question. The defendants lawyer kept saying how he was no threat… That's the point.
No way should this man be let out. Assault on a student??? Hell to the no. The lawyer spoke in one, long run-on sentence. Made MY head hurt.
"No, when I'm done, I'm done."
Yes! Similar to, “What did I just say?”
I saw the video of him attacking the student. He definitely needs to be in prison.
"I thought I ordered something." 😂😂😂
Assault with intent on a minor sounds like he needs to be in prison.
Love the Judge's response, "no, when I'm done, I'm done"!
I’m a teacher and a father. We put a lot of faith in near strangers that our children are safe and respected. If you betray that faith in a physical way, you deserve prison. It’s no different than abusing a senior or a medical patient. Glad bond wasn’t lowered.
The most telling (or even chilling) part of this incident is that others had to intervene to end the assault. I think teachers should be required to pass psychological evaluations before being hired. Some people can only put up with so much and will "snap", and that can be very dangerous.
I like Judge Simpson. ''When I'm done I'm done''
His other crime is allowing his parents to waste money on his act!
He sounds like he thinks he's smarter than anyone else in the court
His mother works for the probation department, she must be proud
Who wrote that super long biography regarding him? Hey guy, you want to autograph that book for us? 😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Hey, the man was given an impossible task. I respect the attempt if nothing else lol.
@@EbonMaster Yeah, gotta give it to him for that. 🤭. I can't help but laugh at them even including his mom's achievements 🤭
When im done, im done!!😂
Just watched the video. The kid was walking away. He was refusing to do push-ups as a punishment, and this man came up behind him and tried to strangle him with a sweater. Insanity.
If that were my kid, that idiot defendant wouldn’t make it into court. Scumbag.
WTH!!
If my son were caught on video strangling a minor the last thing I would do is waste my retirement money on an attorney. What defense could you have other than try and get the best plea you can.
Right
attorney wants to take all he can get from his family. And still lose the case, because he has no defense for what was done!
Once I heard exactly what he was in there for, I understood why the defense atty felt like he needed to give such a _thorough_ background of the defendant. Bro effed up BAD😬 His parents borrowing from their retirement for an atty on a case that's on video is WILD 💀
I hope they weren't planning on retiring soon. The defendant needs to stay in jail.
His parents must be proud, supporting the criminal they raised
Would you be "proud"? Or perhaps concerned for your son?
Why on Earth would something the son committed reflect on the parents?? I have two kids of my own, and they will be my kids until the day I die. I will _always_ look out for them. Before you say it, no, I would not allow them to break the law or anything of that nature. "Looking out for them" means supporting them while they pay their dues to society and hope that they learn their lesson.
@@AsmodeusMictian If any of my children committed any crime, I would absolutely not support them, and they know it, that is why they don't commit crimes.
You just got to love Judge Simpson!
I love the look on Judge Simpson’s face when he tells the attorney to go ahead with his rebuttal. He knows it’s just for the record and he’s not gonna change his mind.
What is gonna happen if he "snaps" again?
This lawyer was trying to win by number of words spoken
He is not a danger? Is this lawyer for real? 😱
Biggest problem I see -- and it just occurred to me here, with this video -- is that we were arguing for being able to arm teachers in order to be able to better protect students... but we weren't thinking of THIS kind of teacher.
Now I'm having to re-evaluate my positions and try to come up with something better.
So this incident or any other similar to this, trumps these white kids shooting up schools? Think sometimes.
the lawyer was just doing his job and making his argument. some of y'all have no clue what you're talking about.
this isn't the trial.
"...I'm sorry, I thought I ordered something..." ~ Savage Simpson!
He have a headache and he snapped really , strangled the victim, this man is a dangerous he needs to be somewhere where he can snap without strangling minors, when I’m done I’m done
A lawyer gets a continuing education lesson.
I think he’s charging by the word…
@@andrewjosepholson 👍😆😆 $300 an hour wasn't working out.
As a teacher, he is dead wrong! But these kids are really disrespectful and they love to test every boundary put in the place. It’s really difficult out here for a teacher to maintain order!! Children are so defiant. I’m just saying… 🤷🏽♀️
I agree.
Then walk away. There is no defending this man and even though you said you don’t defend him your excusing him. Which is the same as defending him.
@@fawnlet8777 Are you a teacher??
@@fawnlet8777 Exactly. Spot on!
@fawnlet8777 that wasn't defending him. That was saying he was dead wrong and offering a reason.
Got love this judge no nonsense and to the point. Agree his bond should not been reduce and should be higher with assault on a minor.
He should be ashamed of himself his mother works in the system omg!
Send him to prison
I had to fast forward through most of the video because of this attorney 🙄
“Your honor, my client was able to go shopping at Walmart yesterday and had no violent issues….”
That lawyer threw everything he could so was surprised he didn’t say this too.
His lawyer gave his defendants whole life story didn't he?
And his parents! 😂😂
His parents paid that lawyer GENEROUSLY
Judge Simpson and Judge Middleton are my two favourite judges - different characters - but hugely impressive.
Similar energy to the pilot for Better Call Saul "These three young men, near honors students all, were feeling their oats one Saturday night, and they just... Went a little bananas."
Defendant's lawyer was doing exactly what he was supposed to be doing and the judge was okay with it. Judge ruled against him, but so what?
Does that attorney ever come up for air?
Why didn't the lawyer ask for the defendant to stay with him if he is so sure he isn't a threat?
Stupid question dude. The thing was the Defendant wanted to use his family to get the get out of jail card, but Simpson was not listening to the lying defendant who assaulted someone.
@@trekgirl65 If you say so!
@@trekgirl65The defendant was definitely wanting to use his family. However, I don't think it's a stupid question. The defendants lawyer kept saying how he was no threat… That's the point the commenter was making, and the joke
@@gracesiegel7849 Thank you!
Before reading any other comments, I like that lawyer. He actually spoke up for his client. I see these short hearings where a lot of slang is thrown around and presumption of guilt. Perhaps he is guilty. But everyone in US courts are supposed to be persumed innocent until proven guilty. It seems this was an arraignment or something like that. Having said that, often the defendants act like they're from the jungle instead of good citizens. In and out of jail is no way to live.
Dude must have just graduated from law school. Cuz WOW
i had a headache
😐😑
I hope we can follow this case, CourtCam TV!
Judge is the MAN. When I’m done, I’m DONE !!!!!!!!😅
I really like this judge. He is no nonsense.
His attorney needs to learn how to be more concise. You’re not a used car salesman
Sometimes these hearings are too fast and the defense doesn't get to say anything.
WRONG DUDE! He is paid by your county to defend this loser. You better learn how the system works.
How does someone with a high school degree get to be a teacher?
How dare that lawyer argue for a bond reduction when his client could plead guilty and get out of jail immediately. And we should definitely lock up the defendant forever because assault and battery is definitely the most “disgusting” crime out there, ignoring all capital crimes, sex crimes, and virtually everything else that was on the docket that day.
Teacher needs anger management therapy.
He's reaching like he has "Go Go Gadget" arms....Judge Simpson has spoken, bye!
The lawyer thinks he’s the next Johnny Cochran but at least he knew that when the Judge said When I say I’m done, I’m done he knew to shut up
Mother must be very proud of this fool.
This attorney sure has a lot of confidence. Is he charging per word? Hes got quite a motor mouth. 😂
When I’m done, I’m done!
A grown man needs to live with his mother to control his anger???
Great glory shut up all ready.... I believe regarding this attorney K.I.S.S. does apply
"Words, words, words." Hamlet - Act 2, scene 2
Love this ‘No Crap’ guy!!
Man, a Headache??? Really?? Dude could have just taken some Asprin.
3:46 was the switch up. Judge’s face said, WTF!
The defense attorney did his darnedest for his client, which is what he is supposed to do. I don't recognize him so he may not have much, if any, experience with Simpson (almost all criminal defendants are indigent and have appointed PD counsel.) Simpson was somewhat amused by all of this but checked himself so as to not thoroughly humiliate the guy.
How come they have a job & therapy after they've been caught & charged with a crime?
This lawyer is so full of himself.
All that talk means 0!
I thought that was Omarion 😂😂😂
I like how the channel changes from dissing the lawyer to saying their great for doing the same thing dependant on their bias!
What dont make a statement.... Too rigid....... 😂 Go Judge ✌️🤘⚖️🇦🇺
This lawyer would be better off as a used car salesman. He can talk the paint off a wall.
lmao to be fair, judge simmons lets defense attorneys push back on his rulings all the time.
The MOST annoying and destructive Counsel EVER. THE defendant could not have had a different (read worse) outcome had he appeared with a Public Defender… Wasted $$$
He may have attacked the child, but in his defense he didn't do it again right away
Judge Simpson knows everything he is talking bout, but kudos for fighting for your client though 👏 💪
On and on omg
Officer Louis CK standing behind the defendant.
Sounds like his mom would know7 his “type” and watched the whole time how he got that way.
Did I stutter? 😍
When he got over the one thing onto his time on it over there for how you would? I don’t no
i dont care what your family does, it doesnt excuse your actions
Judge shaking his head lol
SOMEBODY SHUT HIM UP!!
I like this lawyer 😂😂😂
This attorney needs to latch on to foreclosure mill, sit down, and stfu. He will find success there... maybe. Gawtdamn.
U just watched the video, If that was my kid? in those 14 days from the attack to him being arrested the matter would be handled without the courts
Meh
The family hired the attorney to do everything possible so he did.
Don’t really have a beef with that
holy flapping lips Batman!
It was interesting watching this hired lawyer compared to the PDs. I kept thinking the attorney was putting out everything he could think of to show the defendant’s parents they were getting their money’s worth of defense. He could at least tell them he tried everything. But he either didn’t know or forgot about the Simpson-Factor. I wonder if he’s ever been in front of Simpson before?
That lawyer was just acting for RUclips 😂 narcissistic to the enth.. degree
Parents should’ve used their money to bond out their son instead of hiring an attorney who thought mansplaining sentencing sanctions to Judge Simpson was a good strategy when arguing for a bond reduction. 🙄
First of all, do you see how much police presence is in this courtroom? This is a lot. Second of all going to a new paragraph
If you can’t handle the pressures of teaching in today’s environment, then do something else. I don’t care how disrespected the child is, if you can’t handle it get another job. Nobody says you owe these children and education.
And I can tell you I for one would not be a teacher in today’s environment because I couldn’t hand the disrespect and chosen a different environment because of that.
And your teachers are not heroes and all we need to educate the kids for the kids. I do this, the teachers posted on here no it’s not because you just wanna get up and get another job. Because most of you seem to hate your job
To back up this man who attacked the student that was walking away from him, ending the argument, and he attacked that student?
And if it was true, he told the student do push-ups. No student has to obey a teacher like that no way that’s corporal punishment and it’s against the law.
I am 63 almost 64 years old and I remember my years done push-ups like that I couldn’t do it. My back was in pain then. So if he can’t handle the disrespect from the children, he should’ve quit his job now he’s going to prison.
So the defendants mother is in charge of inmates for the state… I bet she’s so proud of her son… Trying to strangle a minor with a sweater who is walking away…
To the video uploader, assuming you wrote the title. It's the defence counsel's job, by law, to get the defendant the least punishment possible under the law. He wasn't talkative or trying to be "slick", he's just doing his job, something you've probably never had to worry about.
He really didn’t have to explain the whole sentencing to the judge though, did he?
Graduated high school in 2013? How old was he? in his 30's?
That would make him 29
A Canton High School graduate....So am I. Have not been back since the 90s, When did Canton become a hood?
I'm starting to get the impression that Judge Simpson doesn't like the attorneys that defendants pay for themselves as opposed to the public defenders office attorneys.
I think it can be with how some feel like they can bully the judge when the PD lawyers know the judge enough not to push the wrong buttons
@@mwrgaming284 That's probably the case. I guess it's more "arrogant attorneys" rather than "paid-for attorneys" then.
@@DM-wj8brthe attorney was also explaining to the judge how sentencing guidelines work. Most people who are experts in the field don’t appreciate being talked down to.
I think he didn't like that bullshit story he gave. After an allegation of assault on a minor.
The lawyer was doing what his oath and acceptance of payment requires him to do. Zealously defend his client🤷🏽♀️. His client is a abusive scum bag but the lawyer is only doing his job
As a teacher, he is dead wrong! But these kids are really disrespectful and they love to test every boundary put in the place. It’s really difficult out here for a teacher to!! I’m just saying… 🤷🏽♀️
The student didn't challenge or attack him. The boy walked away from the defendant, who then proceeded to follow and strangled him. If it weren't for the intervention of two other teachers, the child would be dead and this would be a bond hearing about a murder.
But this kid wasn't being disrespectful......
The Judge seems to be on edge as soon as the video starts, like he's on high alert. It makes me wonder if he's had history with this defendant, or if he's had a number of annoyances prior to this hearing.
He’s on high alert because there are abnormal amount of police presence in the courtroom. And these are not witness police officers. These are police officers to keep law in order within that courtroom. So yeah, he better be alert and high alert to.
@@fawnlet8777 Good point, that makes sense.
The defendant's attorney did not prevail but I can't help comparing his defense of his client - which was eloquent, forceful, and detailed to the weaker representation by public defenders that I have seen videos of.on RUclips.
