this is one of those runs thats probably going to confuse newer players a lot, don't do what im doing if you dont understand why im doing it! i recommend asking questions with this one lol
By not killing anything and having the max amount of enemies on the map, the stage builds up credits for spawning continually until I kill something. So I waited for a while, killed one thing so it dumped all of its credits into one enemy. Great way to force gun used but obviously the downside is clear so use sparingly at best
@@ammonbergevin5302If you hang out in certain areas where enemies can’t spawn near you, they just won’t spawn. (it’s not as exploitable as it sounds) The difficulty still scales and the director still gets credits, so you can wait awhile and when you come back enemies will start spawning again and the director will have enough credits to spawn a boss.
I can confirm umbral final phase is so much more scary than normal. I dont like practice mode but I've played a few runs of it in eclipse 3 to test the waters and I always die right at the end when it has like 4-5k hp left so heartbreaking. I panic and normally die to the projectiles it shoots.
About the whole looping debate, I have like 450ish hours and I can confirm that every looper is actually just desperate FMP fan trying to get the actual FMP and failing miserably.
500+ hours and love looping checking in 🫡 Two reasons: 1. Most of the time, I would rather loop than do pillars or struggle through a poopy Mithrix fight. If I'm gonna die I'll die to a gigchad malachite wisp and not to cringe mithrix 2. Half the fun in ror2 (for me at least) comes from breaking the game and seeing what ridiculous stuff happens. harder to do in one loop 3. every loop is usually quicker than the previous which means you can see way more items doing loops than if you just restart at stage 5. more items = more dopamine = more happiness in the world. therefore looping is morally superior and if u don't loop u are actually creating less happiness in the world. *[this fact was verified by DML gang]* + extra bonus p.s.: i can get FMP builds every time i loop 😏
Maybe if looping worked like returns, I would loop in my runs. Looping just defeats the challenge of the mithrix fight, which is easily the most fun part of the run.
Bandit has some of the most interesting synergies as a survivor. I actually find him more interesting than engineer sometimes (though my favorite is viend)
I like Blast. I exclusively use Blast when playing Bandit. One good shot, nice and ranged. I can evade all attacks because I am always very far away from my foe.
thats kinda hype probably just remove the skill cooldown reduction too though cause then you could just entirely spam lights out n have infinite blast shower
On "do you think using command to get achievements is immoral" I straight up save edited the achievements for items and survivors. And I'd do it again. I hate having to unlock things, I'm incredibly happy that it was so easy to skip it.
Off-topic question, why do you never fight Voidling? I assume it's either too easy, too buggy, or you just prefer Umbral Mithrix as an endpoint to runs. I bring this up because at 4:55 you said that you don't play vanilla Mithrix because he's too weak, but there is a modded version of voidling (FathomlessVoidling) by the same mod author who made Umbral Mithrix (not sure if there are issues with that mod). Just curious.
Fathomless is fun but at the end of the day it’s still too similar to voidling and I don’t think voidling is something I want to spend my time doing lol I think there were some issues with using both in the past I’m not sure those are fixed
I recommend abusing Newt Altar and Effigy of Grief as much as you can when the character doesn’t have a built in way to press buttons (Cap, Loader, RGunner (with patience) and Engineer are able to do it). Runs can get really hard really fast on console, there’s no shame in using a currency you can’t mod in in absurd amounts to get an equipment you’ll drop after the deed is done
1:19 Small PSA for everyone that actually thinks RNG works like that: No, it's just typical RNG shenanigans in action, sometimes you just don't get an item for 20 straight runs aaand then the other 5 ones have like three of that item in a cradle or a multishop lol
Good catch! Empathy cores don’t die to mithrixs “kill drone” attack once phase 3 begins, which means the invincible clone mithrix will aggro on to them if he sees them first, giving me a lot of time and space to work with
22:54 i have 320 hours in risk of rain 2, and im mainly a looper, also haven't really done eclipse climbing because i never got used to beating the game like that i just really enjoy getting as powerful as i can and stomping through level after level
I never loop because it takes too long and I can usually just win on stage 5 anyways also I've been watching your content a lot and it's inspired me to get back on the eclipse grind, currently have gold e2 + e7 commando e8 loader
not quite 500h, but 450h, i mostly use looping as a way to go for more mobility if a run was really stingy about it even with full looting, or sometimes a build really comes together on stage 5 and i wanna play with it for longer than mithrix. full looping does get extremely boring and looping gives more chances for the game to be dumb and decide to stop working properly. so all in all, im about a middle ground, im neither always moon immediately nor full looping.
I enjoy lights out just because it's fun to infinitely ladder combo shift+R on weak shit and climb to the sky. It actually changes how the character plays instead of just adding damage. I think it's more fun as kit, personally.
30mins on stage 2 sounds insane until you actually start full looting and optimizing for yourself. I used to be the guy that would get to stage 4 before 15 minutes. Just bomb rushed the teleporter cuz early on I was told that early game loot wasn't worth it. Now it's pretty much just taking my time, I'll reach the next stage when I get there. Until then, focus on optimizing the items I'm getting.
I once got to 40 minutes on stage 2 on Railgunner just to get bands (was just starting to learn pot rolling) and won the run. I did it again with an Artificer run and also won that one
Whenever I use command for achievements it’s the ones I have zero clue how to get otherwise. Like the million damage railgunner cuz I don’t want to loop so much that I have to spend 7 hours nor am I lucky enough to get a good run for it fast. I also did it for huntress on the staying above 100% health and artificer on chunking bosses
I can see how looping could be fun But like Just the looping i had to do for achievements makes me not wsnt to anymore Everything just dies in 1 shot anyway
I have just over 800 hours but usually loop just once then mithrix, if I want to cut it short I do and a few days ago I did no loop E8 huntress and I did have a tough time because I didn't get any scrappers so there was no control and still won
Is there a time frame for when the director can start spawning bossess or is it just at anypoint if it has enough coins it can spawn one? Like say wtage one 5 minutes in if i had just let everything spawn and the director somehow built up enough coins would it try to spawn a boss?
I really think they should get remove the spread on blast and add way more spread on burst. Burst is too effective at range and way too effective at proccing shatterspleen. You should have to get right up in there to get crits with burst
OK I'd like your opinion on this: On your stage 5 you had a plute printer with 10+ plimps. I have this feeling that it would have been worth scrapping your Kjaros for more plutes to put out even more of those high dmg plimps consistently, rather than have 1 plimp missile proc 3 Kjaros once every 10s. With runalds maybe I'd feel different because I think Kjaros are kinda wasted on mithrix who runs out of the tornado in a split second, but even then I think I would have prioritized the plutes. That being said, why did you choose the bands over the plutes?
What? I meant, end of stage 5, you scrapped your greens for more plutes but kept the bands. Wouldn't it have been worth scrapping them too for more plute/plimp combo? Also you kept the bauble? @@RacesVideos
Did I have a scrapper that run? If not (which I assumed when responding) I kept it for feather, if I did then idk, it could be more damage by a bit but I’m a fan of multiplicative damage sources whenever possible, especially considering I had headset as well
To be fair, it's not like Light's out is straight out bad, it's the Desperado that's stupidly overpowered. Literally 70% of Bandit's power budget went into Desperado alone. I wish it worked more similarly to Bandit's Special from RorR, where the on-kill dmg buff is still stackable, but over a 15s period, not over the whole stage. It's the sole reason why I don't like playing Bandit; without Desperado he feels ass and with it he feels cheesy af.

By not killing anything and having the max amount of enemies on the map, the stage builds up credits for spawning continually until I kill something. Why do you prefer Desperado over Lights Out?
One does infinite scaling damage, one does very low damage and resets already low cooldown abilities
