Yeah I understand the confusion about the Jolly Spaghetti. It really is an acquired taste. As some people in the comments might have already told you, its flavor profile was due to finding a sustainable substitute for the short supply of tomato, which the surplus of bananas filled. It definitely isn't the case now but most Filipinos grew up to that sweet style spaghetti because it is a staple food in fiestas and birthday parties along with fried chicken and cake. That is why you see a menu item combining spaghetti + chicken in Jollibee.

It's honestly kinda hard to find a good donair in Toronto (where he was staying). I only know of a couple spots and they're alright, but not as good as the ones at home in NS.
@bubzillian oh shit no way eh. That SUCKS for people who have never had one. I live in pei I even make my own donair sauce it's super easy and so good.
@bubzillian super easy bro! Get evaporated milk. Not sweetened condensed milk that'll taste like the bottled shit that says " donair sauce " on it. Way too sweet cause there's already a lot of sugar in this recipe. So. A can of evaporated milk in a bowl/dish I then coat the top with about a teaspoon or so of garlic powder and use a fork to slowly stir/mix 1 cup of white sugar in so that it dissolves easier and not some clump on the bottom. I do the garlic powder before this step cause the stirring of sugar mixes it at the same time. Now get a little stir going and pour in a 1/3 of a cup of white vinegar. Don't over stir and just let it curdle and do it's thing in the fridge. If you stir it right up you'll "break" it. Give it a try and re comment what ya think I wanna hear it !

I lived in Hong Kong for 4 years.. 35 years ago. And one of the things i used to eat at school for lunch was what they called beef stroganoff. They served it on spaghetti. The sauce taste like ketchup (banana ketchup in the Philippines). That's why it reminded Ben of a better version of chef Boy-r-dee (canned pasta). I'd argue the taste of Jolibee's spaghetti is like the best item on the kid's menu. I can't defend myself when another adult asks me why I ordered it. I want it, I know it isn't "good" but I never needed to explained why I liked the "McRib" from McDonald's".
NO. ITS ORIGINATED@@SwaggMessiah69 DURING WAR WHEN EVRYTHING WAS RATIONED.. THIS WAS NOT INSPIRED IN SOUTHERN US WHATSOEVER. THIS IS MADE DUE TO LOW TOMATOES DURING WAR AND THE SWEETNESS CAME FROM BANANA KETCHUP INSTEAD.
I have a weird combo that I always do whenever I've got a chance to eat Jollibee. What I do is, I combine fries and spaghetti together, the saltiness of fries and sweetness of spaghetti combined together just hits me.
I'm dating a filipina, i hated the spaghetti at first but it has grown on me since I don't think of it as tomato sauce spaghetti anymore. At face value, it is banana ketchup noodles and there are some chinese restaurants that make baked chicken with tomato sauce and noodles that taste similar.
For anyone interested, the prices are WAY LOWER in the PH. You can get a combo 6 pcs. chicken joy with family spaghetti for P679, which is about 12 USD. If you add the other stuff, it's give or take P1000~ which is about 18 USD. Do note that some of the serving sizes such as the spicy chicken sandwich are smaller. The chicken size should be roughly the same if not slightly smaller. That said, you can buy almost 5x more food here (cuz the average wage is probably 5-10x less).
ang sipag ng PR department ng Jollibee, ha! ...@JollibeeStudios , bring BenDeen to the Philippines, instead. Make him try Jollibee in Dgte or Boracay. Doon kayo gawa ng videos. 🏝🏝🏖🏖❤❤
The jollibee fries has like a ticking time to it. If it's still hot, i'd recommend to eat it from the sides while having the other meals you have (or eat the fries first) Cause when it's still freshly cooked, the flavor enhances. But as time passes, the flavor fades. I know it's kinda like pure common sense but the jollibee fries hits different from any other fries.
Here in the Philippines, the delivery prices would be: 6 pc. Chickenjoy w/ Family Spaghetti Pan combo = *PhP 679 or $11.51* 1 Large Fries = *PhP 100 or $1.69* 1 Large Peach Mango Pie = *PhP 64 or $1.08* 1 Pineapple Juice = *PhP 64 or $1.08* Total price of the food would be: *PhP 907 or $15.37* Delivery fee would cost around an extra *PhP 50 - 250 or $0.85 - $4.24*
The jollyspaghetti imo is as fast food as a spaghetti can get. It isnt really supposed to replace aunthentic pasta dishes. This was made to be a comfort food where you just scarf it down, it is a guilty pleasure ngl.

I'VE BEEN WAITING EVERY DAY FOR THIS MOMENT AS A FILIPINO BENDEEN VIEWER. BEEN WATCHING U SINCE YOUR HAIR TUTORIALS BRO LETSGO
Man I wish you did a donair in canada. They're so good. I'm from the maritimes. Nothing like a maritime donair
@@tavismacdonald7759 I really should start making my own too! What's your favourite recipe?
The way you eat made me hungry!!! Omgggggg ❤
Ive been waiting for this as a filipino 🇵🇭 🇵🇭 ❤❤❤ love from the Philippines
What would that entire meal he bought cost in the Philippines? That's what he wants to know.
@carlalattanzi6873 definitely around 15 USD in the Philippines 😭 but it could be more due to inflation I haven't been there in a while 🙃
@ $15 USD for all that? He said he paid right about $100 in NY
@carlalattanzi6873 I mean it is NY, stuff is more expensive there than in the Phillippines
@ Oh definitely. I just didn't know it'd be that inexpensive in the Philippines.
glad you love the chicken bro, it’s my favorite out of all joints too
BEN "Anyway, Moms Spaghetti". *Pauses and looks at the camera*
BAHAHAHAHAHAHHA. Love your channel Ben. BUDDHA AND GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR WIFE. ❤❤❤😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊
I didn't eat Jollibee until this year. I passed the DTLA restaurant for many years. When I first ate the chicken, I went WOW. You should dip the chicken in the gravy. Jollibee prices are expensive in SoCal, too. I spend about $30 for 6 pc chicken and three pies. You really loved the spaghetti. 😅😅😅
$109 is wild
average freedom country price.
@@AsinT.😂
@@AsinT.’MERICA!!!🇺🇸🦅😂😭
everything I eat in a week costs less than that
finally a filipino food hahahaha been watching you for years i've waited for this moment... anyways the spaghetti is mostly catered to children but filipinos also just naturally love sweet spaghetti cuz thats how we grew up
The items you missed out on were the palabok and adobo rice which actually have filipino flavors
Love Jollibee, you need to try the palabok and Adobo rice next time!
0:40 rare candid deen spotting
I lived in Hong Kong for 4 years.. 35 years ago. And one of the things i used to eat at school for lunch was what they called beef stroganoff. They served it on spaghetti. Was a sweet thick tomato based sauce. And it's what i imagine the taste of jolliebee spaghetti tastes like having not had it before. UK does not have many jolliebee spots. I live in hope as i want to try the breakfast menu. Great vid Ben. Hope you try some more menu items as there menu looks fire.
@chef_hoyle7180 That’s not how beef stroganoff is made, not here in the states.
@@tinalancaster3227 i know that. But that's what they called it. It was far from a beef strogg we know. But at my school back then thats what they made and called it lol.
In the south some of us like to dip our fried chicken in mash potato and gravy even on the biscuits ❤
So glad you liked Jollibee so much. It’s my favorite fired chicken. The smokiness in the “spa” is from the hot dog. Mm Mm goood!
$110 for fast food chicken and some spaghetti with hot dogs in it... the man was robbed.
6pcs of chicken & some mf spaghetti, real talk that price is disrespectful
@@BLUEGATORBOYZI’m trying to figure out how it even came to that lmfao I was like maybe it was 50 and 50 for delivery but I’m like me myself would walk and grab that bitch lol 😂
Yeah New York prices are no joke plus jollibee tends to be on the higher end of prices too
it aint even half the price for sum popeyes
@@juritudi57yearsago59 plus if he did uber eats delivery
The way you eat makes me wanna eat too!!! I MISS JOLLIBEE! 😭
As a Filipino, the Jollibee spaghetti is okay. I'd rather have italian or home made spaghetti. Chicken is good for sure though.
yow bro, Filipino here, finally @Ben you tried it. Loving your vids bro keep it up. hahahahahha 0:47 mom's spaghetti, he's nervous....blah blah blah :D amazing as always bro. ✌
Yeah I’m Filipino and I personally just never liked the spaghetti. I never really liked Filipino spaghetti in general either. Maybe it’s cuz I grew up in America haha. But yeah glad you liked it! Next time if you can, you should try the Palobok! That’s what I would recommend instead. Also if you get the chance to try the yum burgers that would be cool. Those are my personal fave
Filipino spaghetti originated from Southern US spaghetti recipes.
Ben Deen and Quang Tran both had Jollibee. It's 3:30 a.m. and I still refuse to be hungry right now 😭😂
Oh I'm going to check him right after this vid
11:12 Really actually ate jollibee like how a true filipino would. 😂
That's 20$ max in the PH
❤ The Philippines should make you famous. 😝 We love you! Jollibee can only be the greatest. 😀
As a Filipino I do prefer Italian spaghetti, but Filipino Style definitely grew on me over the years. I hated it the first time
I personally love it, especially w/ the spicy chicken
I'm dating a filipina, i hated the spaghetti at first but it has grown on me since I don't think of it as tomato sauce spaghetti anymore.
At face value, it is banana ketchup noodles and there are some chinese restaurants that make baked chicken with tomato sauce and noodles that taste similar.
My fillipina gf is always cooking adobo, longanisa, carbonara, sisig, and bibimbap
@ddongjjang-r5f it's tomato paste and banana ketchup. Go do some research.
11:12 15:05 No bro, you are not doing weird combos, you're actually eating jollibee like how filipinos usually eat it 😂😂
ang sipag ng PR department ng Jollibee, ha! ...@JollibeeStudios , bring BenDeen to the Philippines, instead. Make him try Jollibee in Dgte or Boracay. Doon kayo gawa ng videos. 🏝🏝🏖🏖❤❤
$109.99??? Please tell me you left a $70 tip? Ain’t no way.
Tipping a fast food restaurant? That's delusional
@ the Delivery Driver
Shits wild aye unreal
@@Dog8myhomework ahhh makes more sense that way
They have Jollibee in Canada too...all over Toronto. Shoulda got the adobo rice instead of plain rice lol best chicken and gravy!
The thumbnail on this one is crazy
The jollibee fries has like a ticking time to it. If it's still hot, i'd recommend to eat it from the sides while having the other meals you have (or eat the fries first)
Cause when it's still freshly cooked, the flavor enhances. But as time passes, the flavor fades.
I know it's kinda like pure common sense but the jollibee fries hits different from any other fries.
100 DOLLARS?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
yeah, if you buy $100 worth of food is gonna cost you $100
@@Ms-Islamova Looks nothing like 100 bucks worth lmao, family meals everywhere i've been are like 35 USD MAX
Probably got it on Uber eats with no promotions
@@Nagatoro87 no I said, if you order something for $100 then it's gonna cost $100, doesn't matter if you think it's worth or not
@@Ms-Islamova Ok? But why is it 100$ tho? Roughly calculate these items in most countries and it doesn't even reach half the price
@ 9:48 part and you are just enjoying OUR Jollibee! 😅 loving this video halfway 🥰
Here in the Philippines, the delivery prices would be:
6 pc. Chickenjoy w/ Family Spaghetti Pan combo = *PhP 679 or $11.51*
1 Large Fries = *PhP 100 or $1.69*
1 Large Peach Mango Pie = *PhP 64 or $1.08*
1 Pineapple Juice = *PhP 64 or $1.08*
Total price of the food would be: *PhP 907 or $15.37*
Delivery fee would cost around an extra *PhP 50 - 250 or $0.85 - $4.24*
What about the chicken burger?
@@Cleaw around 4-5 $
When I say this, I genuinely mean it from the bottom of my African American heart:
"He fucking that shit up"
Yelling at the screen: DIP the fries!
Whole reason you buy gravy.
Cant quite believe the lack of dipping. Ben is the greatest at this mukbang stuff but the lack of dipping in this video has cut me deep
Bro nobody dips gravy gng just cuz ppl eat normal don't mean nun😂😂
The jollyspaghetti imo is as fast food as a spaghetti can get. It isnt really supposed to replace aunthentic pasta dishes. This was made to be a comfort food where you just scarf it down, it is a guilty pleasure ngl.
i love how you put fried chicken, rice and gravy in one plate is how filipinos eat their meal in jollibee
Filipinos and black Americans have a lot in common. We also eat fried chicken or fish with a side of spaghetti. ❤
If it's what you ate, an equivalent order here in the Philippines would cost you no more than $17, though with delivery it might go up to $20-ish.
Love watching the way you eat Ben. We both eat like someone is going to take it from us haha.
Filipino spaghetti sauce is basically - ground pork/beef, tomato sauce, tomato paste, ketchup, brown sugar, salt and pepper. Very good comfort food.
Been waiting for almost a decade, subscribed 2016-17 i think, cant believe its the first appearance of jollibee here lol
Ben Deen!!!! I just love how you like our jollibee!!
Good you first tried it in the US. In my opinion, US Jollibee Fried Chicken is better than in the Philippines. Im sure it’s the better oil that is used for frying. (Coming from a Filipino)
Oh no that’s where I’m gonna disagree with you. The chickens are only bigger in the us but flavor wise it’s better in the phillippines I just went recently and it was 2 times better than US Jollibee
you've never been in the US kid you're not fooling anyone
No gimmick about the spaghetti, Filipino spaghetti is well known to have hot dogs and being sweet, also something readily used is the banana ketchup.
I keep hearing how amazing this chicken is , I havnt had a chance yet to try it , I really can't wait any longer lol
I like how he actually goes through all the food and not just eat them
