You have a dream lesson program. I love that you take students out of their comfort zone in a safe way and introduce them to so many different experiences. I haven't ever heard of a lesson program like this and it would be so nice to experience.

Takes me back to when I was a kid.🐎 We invited all our horsey friends with and without horses and played at horse shows.🤸🏿♀️ The horses were at home so less worry about them getting stressy and we got to practice being under the spotlight. So much fun. And of course, we shared ponies so everyone could have a turn. It's a good idea to have these friendly comps coz it gives everyone more confidence to face the real thing. And we all know it's the rider that needs to be confident to ensure the ponies are too🙄😊. We made our own rosettes to give out too. such fun

A gaited horse is a horse with more than just the basic three gaits (walk, trot canter) There are several breeds that can come gaited for example Tennessee Walkers, Fox Trotters, Saddlebreds, Paso Finos, Icelandic Horses to name a few. The variation of gaits can vary within these breeds and with how the gaits look. A quick google on “gaited horse breeds” might give you an even better explanation. I don’t have any first hand experience at all with the American gaited horses. But I own three Icelandic’s, and have been involved with this breed for a long time. They’re very special since they’re pony-sized, but they have the bone structure of a horse and have been evolved over a 1000 years as the only horse breed in Iceland, and thus being able to to carry adults without an issue since they where the only means of travel they had for a long time. They can have up to five gaits (walk, trot, canter, tölt and flying pace) and are known to be levelheaded, surefooted, powerful yet gentle. I’ve heard a lot of good things about the American gaited breeds too, but as I said we don’t have many of them here over in Sweden so. But yeah, google is your friend 😅 But I hope I could enlighten you a little bit 🥰

I even rewatch clips over and over but i just dont think my eye is trained enough to spot it lol thank you for explaining it so simply. Haha! I did mention in this video that in english Pleasure it means they are looking at the horse and seeing if they are a pleasure to ride. Equitation they are looking at the riders form. ❤️
