Cool
Good job

doyouthinkheasaurus
“Do-you-think-he-saurus.”
The Therizinosaurus being blind, only able to smell its way through the forest, and when Claire disappeared under the water it lost the scent.
Realistically water allows our skin oils to rise to the surface. Itsxa Hollywood misconception, many times people who run from the law going up stream are easier to track. This is jurassic world though what goes goes still a solid scene
Not blind just can't see very well because of cataracts
@@kitwing2904 eyes are white it means its blind BC of age or battle
That's good is true escapes match will fight giganotosaurus
@@FATman234 makes me think the blindness is from a genetic defect or maybe a battle with a dilophosaurus or two.
Honestly I think the theri being blind and that’s why it’s so aggressive makes a lot of sense. Animals with poor eyesight tend to be more prone to lashing out at new stimuli, like rhinos. The problem that this comes to is the theri being any kind of match for the Giga after showing it absolutely dominate Rexy.
It's obvious it wasn't a match against the giga. However the fight between the t Rex and giga cause so much noise more likely got the attention of the therizinosaurus. Once it got in view of the giga didn't have no choice but to defend himself as best as a possible. For all we know that giga could have been bullying that therizinosaurus for food like it did the t Rex.
Rexy is over 40 years old. Not saying she would've won if we shaved 20 years off, but she would've given a better showing.
@@tharukkus Pretty sure she's 30? But Collin confirmed that the average lifespan of the JP Rexes is 30 years old.
So yeah, it's a fricking muscular boxer (Giga) vs a Granny (Rexy), rather obvious that she's no match for Giga. The Therizinosaurus not being almost dead cause of old age is obviously a much better match for Giga.
Even with them not being blind they were very territorial
same for deaf cats, we tried adopting one awhile back but he would have NOTHING about the other cat, hed basically just charge at her despite being super friendly to us
The deer slap killed me. Also “Tickle Chicken”.😂😂
😂 slap that deer like I know you ain't eating out of my stash area get the hell out of here "slap"😂

Keep my damn plants out your damn mouth
why the deer was deaf?
@@karlk.6819 Was thinking that cause normally a deer would have farted away but it just sat there
@@karlk.6819 It wasn't deaf, it had no eyes
Well the movie shows that the Therizinosaurus actually has one good eye in the film, but with the eye position being in a spot where it essentially needs both. It has to echolocation since it’s very difficult for the Theri to see with just one eye. Awesome scene to resemble the horror from the classic film. Honestly 50% agree with you on this one Dangerville.
you big brain played
I’m pretty sure therizinosaurus did not echolocate whether it’s irl or JW.
Echolocation is how bats orient themselves and they have specialized hears and/or noses just for that but theri doesn’t have any structure that could indicate it uses echolocation.
James I think your head is hallowed
Animals don't develop echolocation just cause they go blind, that's not how that works.
@@theangrysuchomimus5163 any animal can use echolocation, a lot of blind people have the ability to use it, it’s just bats have had this ability refined
It honestly makes sense that the therazinosauris would instantly go into kill mode since it’s blind it can’t take a chance if it hears or smells something it has to meet anything with aggression
Yeah since there are Dilophosaurus and pyroraptors in that Valley that would probably try to harm Theri
@@coolrobert4335 I think there was only one pyroraptor that lives at the dam. At least they only showed one.
It isn't blind but is has a 3rd eyelid like alligators
It's not fucking blind
@@Terrox_ it is smart ass its canon
This is supported by the clicking/small vocalisation you hear from the creature, these noises is a sign that the Therizinosaurus is using echolocation, it is known that creatures that were born blind uses their own voices to do some echolocation, not only that it's claws can also be used as a walking stick to feel it's surroundings as seen when it was leaving Claire's proximity
This doesn't make sense though. If it uses echolocation, then that presumed the entire species is this way, but that only occurs if there's no selective benefit to being able to see. So for example some river dolphins can't see because the rivers they live in are so muddy that being able to see, confers no advantage, so they rely entirely on echolocation. But that's not the case for a large land based dinosaur. Being able to see is absolutely necessary, so it would never survive if it were blind.
With that said, I do think this is a situation where the movie is taking creative license, but I think the idea wasn't well thought out, and was just an excuse to have a suspenseful cat/mouse scene, albeit done very well.
It’s not echolocation, it’s just what birds do. Especially large ground birds. It probably means it’s also a hen, as females ground birds almost always chatter. Emu hens almost constantly drum, especially in territorial defense.
@@thuggeegaming659 not necessarily a new study just came out kind of unrelated but it shows that human beings who have lost their sight can be trained to echolocate within his little as 10 weeks so I'm sure animals that go blind can certainly sometimes figure out a way to accomplish that
@@jeremiahalguire8231 That doesn't address the point I was making that losing vision in favor for echolocation for a terrestrial animal has any selective benefit.
@@thuggeegaming659 well it would if the entire species mentioned was pushed in that direction by evolutionary pressures , but either way we are only talking about one creature not an entire species , so your premise is automatically flawed and not applicable to this particular scenario.
First thing I thought of when I saw the therizinosaurus was how scary it looked, can you imagine these things prowling the forests on a foggy day in their own era. Gives me goosebumps
Believe it or not many would have died had they been Claire hanging from that chair from panic if screaming being that close to them.

When I was watching dominion in theaters I literally heard someone in the seat behind me asking "what is that thing?". That shows you not a lot of people know what therizinosaurus is. It happens to be my favorite herbivorous dinosaur because of what an odd ball it is. I like my own personal nick name of the murder turkey because every time I see a turkey it reminds me of this dinosaur.
I also really like Therizino! Although I initially thought it wasn't much larger than a Dilo. I also like ankylosaurus and the dome-heads. :)
Cool nickname for it. Mine is Murder Giraffe Bird.

I call it the tickle turkey.
It’s so cool.
And in the Isle it has the floofiest of tails. Like a giant living feather duster
@@themurrrr duster.
I instantly thought it was blind due to the milky eyes. Love the Theri! Such a cool dino!
same, i thought the same
The blind theory is something I thought the second I saw the dinos eye. It looked too milky and lacking in color to be normal, and also explains why it just decked a dear out of nowhere because it was going off instinct and anything you cant see could be a threat. But was used well in the scene to present the threat the Therizinosaurus was to the main character and why it would likely attack if it got a good read on where she was.
Also it turns out this scene was a favorite of the directors, so it shows how much effort was put into it.
The official wiki states that prior to the events of the movie, the therizinosaurs had an incident causing it to have something similar to cataracts.
Looks lkike cataracts to me too which when bad with have the eye colour as milky.
You should never have to read an official wiki to find this stuff out. This means the movie was poorly done. Star Wars' new trilogy did that.
@Scarlett isn't it reasonably common knowledge that cataracts cause milky eyes? It happens to lots of animals as well as humans- pretty much anything that has eyes!
@Scarlett Grey ofcourse it was poorly done. This was the worst jurassic Park yet 😂 woke trash.
I had actually theorized that the reason the Therizinosaurus was blind was because it got attacked by a hungry carnivore at some point, but the herbivore fought it off and survived, though the attack left its eye sight impaired
Maybe it was the Giga, though I don’t know.
Probably not since there is no injury around the eye like scars or wounds.
It must have been when it was a baby and was attacked by Dilos
i think its genetic
A dilophosaur spat venom on its eye
It's not completely blind, but it's gone blind in its right eye; possibly from a previous fight (maybe with the Giga as it didn't hesitate to throw hands with it).
I noticed that in my second viewing of the movie
@@Mesu_editz10 damn u watched it twice?💀😂
No, I don’t think the Giga fought the Theri in the past
Because in the final fight, the Giga didn’t know how to fought it so it just hit its hand

@@SpareSomeChange8080 the refund u get is karma for believing it might've been better the second time round 💀😂
Okay so upon learning that the therizinosaurus was blind I was completely confused so I looked it up and here's what I got on the wiki it says that apparently "at some point in its life the therizinosaurus within the valley was blinded And left with a white layer over its eyes similar to cataracts"
It was probably the dillo knowing that dillo has poisonous spit, but I think terry was blinded in one eye because his other eye looked fine
I'd say the Therizinosaur was blind only on right eye, therefore didn't noticed Claire still hanging in the chair. If it was completely blind and went by the smell and hearing, it'll smell Claire while approaching her and that would be a quick process. It also explains how it could slash that deer, which was standing still and being pretty quiet. In one of the next cuts you can see that its left eye appears totally normal.
Well the idiots did put multiple apex predators in the same valley. Seems a recipe for disaster. Would have thought the animals being cared for and kept healthy and alive was a requirement for relocation to the biosys facility.
...or you can just look at the thumbnail for this very video. It shows the left eye as perfectly normal.
It’s blind. It didn’t spot Claire crawling to the body of water. It would’ve had the opportunity to spot her if it were partially impaired vision-wise or blind in one eye.
Also, I couldn't believe the Therizinosaurus was blind and was still able to put up a fight against the Giga 😃
It can still use its smell like it killed the dear
@@GiGaZillaEditz True lol
I think it might have cocked its head to the right to look at the carcass with its good eye.
@@GiGaZillaEditz 😂 that deer was just in it's spot eating the therizinosaurus berries. Probably why it didn't kill Claire cause she wasnt eating the berries.
i think only the right eye was blind
I love how the t-rex my most favorite dinosaur ever and the giant claw dinosaur teamed up at the end
Best moment for me was defiantly when the therizinosaurus yeeted the deer.
It was weird but the therizonsaurus’s eyes went from moony to colorful as it’s passing by Claire. So I don’t think it’s blind necessarily, but maybe visually impaired
So blind
@@senseimal7189 blind is basically saying you can't see shit. Bissually impaired means you can see some things like shapes or the colors of objects, like near sighted or far sighted people can see better at different distances.
What you're seeing is called the "nictitating membrane" or "third eyelid." All reptiles, most birds and amphibians, and some small mammals, have them. The Theri simply closed&opened its membrane as it walked, which is the reptile equivalent of blinking their eyes. You can see it here: ruclips.net/video/ttsWKaIQgso/видео.html
I'm so glad that this theory came up not only in my head. I was thinking it was blind when i saw the trailer, and it really was behaving like it was blind
I laughed so hard when hearing how he pronounced the dinosaur’s name. But it got old after a while. Good video though!
The name is pronounced ther-O-zee-NO-sore-US
@@NationalOrangeJuiceDay yep
I just thought it has EXTREMELY poor vision. It's not completely blind, as it can still see where it's going and the giga, but not a small human.
Edit: there's no way it's 100% blind, it's actions and movements against the giga are way too specific. It knows exactly where the giga is, and what it's doing. It wasn't just blindly clawing at nothing just hoping to hit the giga, it KNEW where to hit, it KNEW when the giga was about to try to bite it. You can't hear or smell an incoming bite.
I think it's echolocation
Or smell since it knows giga more by smell and would understand that it would rather use it’s energy to attack a threat it understands than an unknown threat being the humans and Rexy
Yeah like how is it 100% completely blind? There's no way my dude
Maybe it's more like a rhino. I've worked with a couple before and their vision sucks. Things are only clearer the closer it gets to whatever it's trying to look at. The giga being so much bigger than Claire was probably easier to figure out
@sinisteralloraptor You can clearly see the theri trying to stop the giga from biting it. It always knows when and where the bites are coming from. It knows where to "peck" when the giga bites it's claw. There's no way it can hear or smell an incoming bite.
The Therizinosaurus has echolocation (in the JW universe, at least). Sinking below the surface of the water allowed Claire to nullify the "vision" of her by the dinosaur's noises. Even a roar directly above her head returned a sense of just flat water surface to the animal.
This is really cool! :)
I have two theories why. The therizinosaurus had very bad eyesight. Or Claire had plot armor
My guess of it's poor vision and it probably relied on listening for Claire and when she was hiding In the water and didn't make any movements to make noise in the water the Therizinosaurus just decided to move on.
This also makes sense as the pngs and merch show the therizinosaurus with a more golden, amber coloured eyes rather than the milky white eyes we got in the film and it just wouldn’t make sense to mass produce the theri with normal eyes and have the film version with abnormal eyes.
Also I feel like the theri may have gotten the blindness from maybe a fight that broke out between it (while it was young) and maybe a dilo. The only problem with my theory is how did the theri survive since the dilo spit also paralyses its prey as well as blinding it
Probably wouldn’t paralyze such a large creature
@@boxinsteadyeddie even if it was maybe an adolescent of juvi actually yeah I can see that since it’s adult size is up there with the rex and giga I can see it most likely having a stronger metabolism to the paralysis but the blinding effect was worse because it might have got hit in the eyes while it was browsing the low foliage while the dilo was waiting in ambush in said foliage
there actually isn’t any evidence real dilos had poison or the head fins, they just made that up in the 80s cause it was cool.
@@pugforce8315 we’re on about in the films not irl
Also, I think it fought w the giga already, bc why else would it team up w t-rexy at the end 💃
The Therizinosaurus is actually thought to be omnivorous. They would eat almost anything they could but primarily plants. The Brachiosaurs were also thought to have snatched up whatever little animals they could.
I am so glad that Therizinosaurus got some shine in the movie. I was not expected that at all. And I thought the Therizinosaurus was blind as well.
Really hoping for a “What Therizinosaurus really sounded like” video
Imagine how much money a Jurassic park could make if the character didn’t have a “marked safe” tag on them.
JP and JW were good when you didn’t expect Eddie and Zara to be killed.
Zara’s death seemed spiteful though.
@@sweetcinnamonpnchkin not really.
Eddie’s death was worse than hers.
Easy answer: because the script needed the plot to happen.
In the first movie, every Dino is technically a hybrid, because most of their DNA was replaced with other animals. Myabe, The Theri has a mix of Lizard (half feathered), Chimp (hyper aggression), and is blind (not 100% a genetic problem, but yeah)
the Therizinosaurus is my favorite dinosaur in this movie so amazing video, keep it up!
Well. Jack Ewins a guy who did a lot of background lore for the Jurassic World trilogy as well as other things for the Series like something for Camp Cretaceous ha CONFIRMED that the Therizinosaurus was indeed blind. And the official wiki for the Jurassic Park/World series says so as well though you can take that with a grain of salt.
I also thought that it knew what deer were and knew that it competes for the same resources. With Claire she didn’t seem to be a threat to it so left her alone maybe
That's what I was thinking as well. We seen the deer eating the berries. Therizinosaurus hears as well smell the berries an went an eliminated the deer for eating it. Notice how once it knock the deer away it goes to eat the berries. Basically just fighting to survive with what little food is source it can get. No different from when the t Rex was about to eat that same deer only for the giga to come an steal the dear away from the t Rex. Also as the climax when the t Rex discovered the characters for a food sources only for the giga to show again trying to steal it's good again the t Rex apparently was tired of being push away from food it found first.
I'm so glad they put a therizenosaurus into jurassic Park. Ever since I got my first dinosaur encyclopedia therizenosaurus was the dinosaur that got me into paleontology.
this is really cool! :)
First off the nick name is amazing. second i have a theory that while I agree 100% with you i'd like to add onto it. while it appeared half blind likely from a battle in the past and while it used echolocation i think were also forgetting that its hearing went up. when Claire went underwater that was the last location of her scent and when the ripples of the water rippled out it may have confused the Therizinosaurus. with no sound and the echo being so close the confusion may have also been too much. I do need to do some research of Therizinosaurus. i have heard of it before but i thought she was a little closer to the ice age times. Time to go do some
It don't use echolocation 😆 😂 🤣 do you understand the evolution or biology of What animal can use that. It was blind in one eye.
Tickle Chicken
@@millenniumlaggus5176 🤣🤣🤣
I honestly look at it like looking at a a smaller low to the ground creature crawling into the water(like a frog or a snake) i dont think it saw claire as so much of a threat but was definitely curious if she was a threat to the territory. If it started slashing into the water(which irl idk if thats the behavior it would of had) it look pretty dumb(plus plot armor) however there was the fact the T-Rex and Giga were near by as is. Small animals be damned. I dont think the finger chicken wanted to fight either of them.(fyi would of prefered spino amd T-rex vs Giga at the end honestly
Therizinosaurus : Hello Blind Old Man from Don't Breathe
Blind Old man : Hello Therizinosaurus from Jurassic World Dominion
I came up with a joke based on Dangerville's pronunciation of Therizinosaurus:
What do you call a lonely dinosaur? Ther-I-zee-no-saurus
well the therazenosaurus isn't a full herbivore it evolved from the carnivores evolutionary tree and changed in to what seems to be an omnivore type creature so we need to also think that it might have included some meat in its diet not like hunting parasaur's but if it came across a say baby dinosaur it would most likely eat it
So it was an omnivore. Like a bear
@@remyd8767 yes a bit
I believe this theory. Most, if not all, birds with similar morph to the Freddy Kruger Giraffe Bird tended to have mixed diet of plant matter and bugs.
And for the Therizinosaurus' case, a small dino is pretty much a tasty bug to it.
Does therizinosaurus have one eye that's blind or both? If it's both then it has to have really good hearing or good echolocation if it managed to know when the Giganotosaurus was going to attack while it rained and a helicopter making noise in the background.
The giga is huge, I think it likely saw that rather than claire.
This is really cool :)
The Tickle chicken 🤣 Brilliant.
Therizinosaurus clearly is a herbivore and clearly not territorial in the movie, that is my best guess. Another theory is that the Therizinosaurus kills anything that is new to it and following the story in the movie it was transfer to the containment. Meaning that while it has seen a human, it had never seen a deer.
At least for me. Fallen Kingdom had the main villain killed a protagonist. It's it not like they all came out without injuries or near death that are shot and paced well. Same goes for Battle At Big Rock, you knew those campers will survive but it was shot in a way that made the threat feel real.
The dino action is the reason its by far the best of the Jurassic world movies.
With lowest being fallen kingdom.
Now im not saying the others were bad but just seeing the old heroes back and all these new awesome dinos, pterosaurs and even dimotrodon😁 made this a great film and the action and scary scenes were great.

I absolutely adore it! Best in the franchise
From the clips shown, it has scaring on the right side of it's face, so it is likely that the milky eye shown was it being blinded in that eye. Since when it turned it's head to the right to show the left side of it's face the eye on the left side was not milky.

Yeah I think it’s right right eye is blind because the right eye is white while the other one was orange or brown I dunno the eye color on the left side of the therizinosaurus but I do know it was not white.
Great analysis, but I wouldn't call Clair the "second main character." She was the main character, and Owen was number two, at least as I see it!
Tickle Chicken PIMP SLAPPING a Deer isn't something I ever thought I would find as funny as it was in the movie 😂
I love your ideas
It should have been a grizzly bear for the therizinosaurus to kill, not a deer. Therizinosaurus would only kill out of defense.
To be fair, we all expected a carnivore to attack a dear, not a herbivore.
The deer might have sounded like something waiting to ambush in the bushes and since the therizinosaures was blind it couldn't tell and it yeeted it
I know I'm in the minority but I hope this is the end of this franchise. I want something action packed but based on actual science instead of the rule of cool. I mean at this time our understanding has grown so much there are so many weird and terrifying dinosaurs that it could easily be done with good characters and story. Be still my heart.
The series was restarted, however, first of all scientifically correct. And more with the spirit of the original book (greater brutality, etc.)
@@stendec6649 It took 2 crappy JW movies to get scientifically accurate dinosaurs (and even then they still have their flaws), and there's barely any blood in them. Save for superficial scratches and blood on leaves. If this franchise does continue (which it probably will because money), then I want to see a raptor turn someone into a bloody mess.
I thought that it being blind was a cool touch. Like maybe Biosyn was doing an experiment with how it would survive. Also, the way it just shoved the deer was such a laughable shot. It was nice to see it in general, similar to the small scenes we got with the Carnos. It’s my favorite dinosaur and I’m glad it’s getting more attention in Dino media

Never occurred to me that anyone would ever refer to it as "Tickle Chicken"
I can't stop laughing you're calling it the tickle chicken
Dangervill always giving out good answers even when the movies dont got one lol
From what I can tell the Therizinosaurus was kinda like a rhino. It can't see well, is herbivorous, and attacks anything it perceives as a threat.
If Rhino's can't see well then they have pretty damn good luck when charging at people or a truck :/
I mean it was recently confirmed that the Theri isn’t actually blind, it just can’t see well. Plus it uses echolocation which explains the chirps
In my opinion, he was blind, but only in one eye. As for the behavior, I think he was too aggressive. Killing the deer was a bit weird. He did not try to scare him away as one would expect from a territorial herbivore, but stabbed him straight away
Giant anteaters will swing at anything that gets too close. Besides, herbivores kill each other. Hippos will kill anything that wanders into their territory, whether it's a harmless gazelle or a crocodile (which is also harmless compared to a hippo).
My thoughts were that when she went underwater, the therizino could no longer smell her scent as she was crawling away and went underwater
This is one of the rare moments in a dinosaur movie in which a herbivore becomes terrifying.
It was the only scene of the film that actually scared me 😭
I never knew about this dinosaur until the movie. That thing scared the heck outta me. It’s the stuff of nightmares. It looks like some kind of mystical monster.
How did I not notice the Theri's eye when I saw the movie? It's nice to know some people can point these things out. The fact that the Theri is blind would make sense to kill that deer. sort of.
Here’s my theory: it’s only right eye blinded and she wasn’t a threat, both directly and indirectly. She wasn’t eating plan (like the deer was), therefore she isn’t a threat to it’s food source. When she went underwater it would accessed her as an amphibian and logicized that she would eat things underwater. And of course she wasn’t attacking it nor shown any physical threat toward it. As who she is I definitely think she knows more than a thing or two about that species so she would act that way.
That’s a very good theory.
I noticed it was blind from the trailer.
And the way it was acting lends to the fact
Your pronunciation of the Theris name is spot on
Probably a detail mulled over in the script's development stage which stayed there
apart from what we saw.
V. Interesting idea though, as I like many did wonder that exact thing.

When I saw this movie the other day I noticed that too. I told my friend that was with me, and she didn't think that was true. She said it had normal vision. I, who hadn't even watched the other Jurassic worlds just agreed, even though there would be no other reason it would have milky eyes.
