When I was first getting started- I was in a crowd situation at Sprotsmans bar- had gone to get some guys out before AWOL... and I got hit in the head- and lost one guy-- but made it back to base ok with the other 3... and told the commander- who asked what happened when i lost the one guy- that I got hit in the head-- and he said- without skipping a beat--"Well, it's a good thing you got hit in something you don't use!!".. ha. At that point he was RIGHT.. ha. Your 3 spoints are SPOT ON- that was HABIT for me long ago and always will be-- AWARENESS-- the NUMBER ONE weapon we have in survival..

Ando! I am so very thankful for your remarkable wisdom and lessons you share on your channel. You are such an exceptional leader and practitioner of principles and lessons of human nature that have great value across so many situations in life. Happy 52! Great episode about the real challenges people face and the many frightening and dangerous unexpected consequences that can occur every day in rapidly changing priorities and dynamics of real life. Thank you for sharing this story in such an authentic way. Great summary to remember the top lessons you shared in this video 1) protect your head, 2) stay mobile and stay on your feet, 3) know where the exits and paths for escape are located for your safety and security. Great job. :)

One thing I find useful in a crowd is using another person's slipstream. If you find yourself stuck in one get behind someone who's already on the move and tail behind them, almost like ur actually walking with them or following them lol. From there it's quite easy to tag onto someone else, say if they're moving in the opposite direction. It also helps to make you less of a target if there are people around looking for a fight. Hope it helps lol

I'm the one that got mashed between two trucks-- and you know my other background... well- AMEN to this one about you're ONE slip- ONE virus, , one stroke- one SOMETHING away from a TOTALLY DIFFERENT life!!! Boy, don't I KNOW it.. ha it's been 23 years since I got hurt and I'm BARELY up to what I consider- NORMAL.. (if there is such a thing).. ha. BUT- I learned a lot from that. I STILL can handle whatever I need to- just not with the 'flash and style" that I USE to use.. ha I'm very curious about the crowd info-- :) THAT is where the ANDY GRIFFITH technique comes in handy- you see someone coming like you said- you SMILE big - slightly sidestep- put your hand on his shoulder from behind him at a slight angle- like you're putting it on your best friend- and say " YES GO- this is going to be fun"- take two steps with him as you spin onyour foot and re-direct him back toward the stand.. and on the way- ask him to help you keep things NEAT... all the while smiling and watching for the next one." :) KEEP smiling and say loudly- "Party's this way guys.." and redirct some more... :) BUT yes- GREAT STORY and it IS time to cut losses... 1 against a few thousand - ain't mahtemantically feasible!!! ha.

Any time I go somewhere that a groupd of people are-- I automatically check eVERYTHING- and look for a position of ADVANTAGE-- so i can SEE who comes in- and the best ways OUT.. I don't do church any more--but if I did- I'd do that there too.. and I can READ people well enough to know when something is NOT right.. Hello Sensai
What a great video podcast! Exciting story. Libby and I were both riveted wondering what would happen. She was worried you might not make it lol. Anyway, glad you came away unscathed and with fresh life lessons.
Whenever I listen to you I always come away happier and encouraged to keep on fighting for a happy life.
Thank you for making the world a better place. 🙏
PS. Happy 52nd and Happy recovery from covid. Libby and I both had covid as well (for the 2nd time) during the same period. I have lingering symptoms but my stronger and better looking half is fully recovered.

Have you heard of something that it seems WT TKD is doing or trying out, virtual sparring, karate dojo waku did a video on it, Sensei Seth did some videos on the oculus VR boxing, do you think these are helpful or necessary for training, maybe to do sparring online when you can’t attend the event for some reason, is it good just for cardio like shadow boxing or cardio kickboxing
