I really hope that Claas can get a foot in the door of the US-market,
because they're producing awesome tractors and combines here in germany!
Nice to see it on your channel!👍

I remember my dad's first combine he bought used from a neighbor farmer back in the early 50's. It was a small Allis Chalmers that I think had a 3 or 4 foot head and dad pulled it with a Farmall BN tractor. Times and farming equipment sure have changed. I am 76 now

This is what the biggest energy boom going on 20 years straight starting in the Bakken will do to an economy. Plus the Bank of North Dakota is owned by the State of North Dakota and not Wall Street or, ahem..."the 'mericans of Washington DC" ahem..

I like that color that Claas uses. I never did like the yellow and back color but, that had to do with Cat's involvement.
I like the look's of the combine shape.

Mike, this color may be new to you but this color green is CLAAS Standard here in Europe since the 1960-es (first CLAAS combines were silver with red lettering). Yellow color was exclusive for US models because Americans were used to the yellow-black color scheme that CAT used. CLAAS acquired CAT and the name was later changed to CHALLENGER, again, because the name CLAAS was not established in the US and they weren't comfortable with using the CAT insignia. Now, everything is CLAAS with well famous green color.
If I made a mistake, forgive me as I'm from Croatia.
Best regards and keep the videos comming!

Claas never owned Cat but they had a deal Cat sold the Claas combines in America under their name as Class had not foothold in America who are generally rather brand loyal especially to green and yellow while Claas sold the Cat tracked tractors under their colours and name. When Cat pulled out of the ag sector selling Challenger to Agco Claas still used the yellow and kinda black livery but badged them Claas until they established their presence there now swapping to their colour scheme they they have used outside of the Americas for a long time while Agco have scrapped the Challenger marque in Europe and badge the tractors now under the Fendt marque which is a larger more established brand in Europe.
Brand, image and loyalty are everything just like Apple and Google. They may cost a heck of a lot more than an iPhone but there are farms who will buy and trade in tractors not necessarily because they need to but because their brand has brought out a new model and it is slightly different which are where the companies make their money.

@@SlipShodBob Sorry, I expressed myself wrongly... I meant the CAT combines, not all of CAT, of course...
But the thing with the color scheme still stands. If I remember correct, CLAAS started to sell green combines in the US under the CLAAS name but the sales were very low because as you said Americans are brand specific. Then they changed the color scheme to CAT and the sales went up and up in the US.
      Thanks for correcting me!

I can say that CAT and Claas status was cooperation. First it began with Commandor 228 CS two track model in 1990-91, this one ruclips.net/video/yM10TAuIK_Q/видео.html (I found only model, not a picture. It was just a concept. BTW very interesting concept, such as cylinder system on Commandor, especially in corn...). After that in mid 90s came first Challenger tractor (it was built in Winnipeg, Ford cab etc... look at this ruclips.net/video/m_gS4ZAgnWw/видео.htmlm40s ). Claas came with Lexion (under CAT brand) on US market around 1997 (as straw walker combines derivates of Lexion...). CAT withdrawn business in 2003 (interesting fact, in 2003 after that "every" new Lexion combine had CAT engine in Europe too after that, Evolution series of 400, or 500 series, so cooperation continued... it has changed with 600 model, comeback of Mercedes Benz engine to top class) Challenger tractors went under Agco ( of course, there was Claas Challenger MT735 prototype... google it ;) ). Around 2003-2008 Claas bought Renault Agriculture division. Xerion tractors, that is a different storyline...
Big Tractor Power has good stories about CAT, Challenger and Claas. ruclips.net/video/BUrPPmo_rss/видео.html or ruclips.net/user/results?search_query=big+tractor+power+history+of+claas
What a mess story. :) English is not my native language, but I have issues to mark it ALL info together also in my native speaking. :D . :) BTW: I really do not where was exactly built first CAT tracks tractors such as those one konedata.net/traktorit/caterpillar-challenger/caterpillar-challenger-65-75/. But great machines, all mechanics as engine or gearbox or tracks were made under CAT brand... I remember that some big farms have it and did a great job here in 1990s (24hrs shifts etc...)

Dan Lowery, We farm near Manito, IL and run a Claas Lexion 560R. There aren’t many of them around here locally but a few. All John Deere and Case IH for our neighbors. We also have a Challenger MT745 and Cat 85E and a matching black and yellow former Altom Transport semi truck that all match so we are a little bummed to see the color change to Claas colors.

Always makes me think that the bubble up augers on these new machines are moving more grain than the unload auger did on my IH 715. Lol I ran that old thing for many years. My Dad only payed $1500 for it on a auction and I later bought a 843 4 row narrow corn head for it, for I think $2500. It payed for it's self many times over.

I believe the farm was in one of the farming magazines here as Versatiles here are rare due to there only being 1 importer rather than a number of dealers. I'm actually surprised that as part of the deal with Kubota that Versatile didn't have their large hp tractors sold via Kubota dealers outside of America being they're a range that Kubota lack.

Once you buy a Claas you never change. Not because they are great, but because you can never trade them in for anything of value. I know many guys that had them, couldn’t get out of them, took a bath to get a different combine. Resale has been awful.
