Awesome video From what I've heard "skilled labor" more refers to labor that requires you know a skill that is really expensive to get certification for. Something that needs a college degree which needs stupid funds like medicine. You are right though about companies labeling people as unskilled to pay them criminally low wages
"Unskilled labor "?? . I worked at a kitchen for a while and you need skill for stuff like not ending someone with bad food or being efficient , helping others and overall doing your job well, . Also i would like to take the chance to say that as a family member of one......well a few , if you interact with a Karen and sometimes the other people at the table say nothing , at least for my case we know that if we say something or intervene with something like "calm down or dont be like that ", we know that person will explode and turn things for the worst, they live for that attention and we learned that not giving them that is better. It just sucks when it happens, people taking for granted this type of service . would love to see those people doing it , see how it goes
Love kitchens, I would love to work in one again I’m just not sure I could make a career out of it. Sad I have to remind people I’m out with that everytime they have a good meal it’s not just magic, there’s a competent staff that had to prepare.
Chefs, yes. But like I said in the video, a skilled cook, or even one that is dependable and willing to learn, can be incredibly valuable as well and is still considered “unskilled” in the minds of most people.
@@Isiah_Young I work construction so I can't say. But I would imagine a linecook is equivalent to a laborer or an apprentice, not skilled but in training. Great laborers should get paid fairly (which they do), and I agree cooks should get paid more. However it's pretty undeniable that line cooks are unskilled.
@@JJJJ-vn1ixAnd that's the real shitty part about working in a restaurant. To it's core, it SHOULD be a easy job (at least in my experience). Just cook the food right and have a good attitude. But it's always the people around you that's gonna make life harder.
Just found the channel. Love it. Keep going dude!

Marco Pierre White shouldn't berate anyone. He made the grossest gnocchi dish I have ever seen and Chef Vincenzo Prosperi roasted him for it.
Bombing video. Grate stuff, keep going man 👍
Thank you Chef 🫡
I just subscribed. Absolutely phenomenal video. Great work, chef 🤙
Thank you, chef!
Wonderful video! You deserve a lot more attention
Thank you so much!

Nice video pal! I wanted to click off, but I couldn't. And I don't even like series.
good video but chefs are considered skilled. There is just a labour surplus

The Bear and the over the top fiction of restaurant work...
Tell me you've never worked in a small restaurant striving for greatness without telling me
you have no idea if u think this is over the top
@@Seamus_Dolan It's food... You are making food.
