    Hey man I remember watching you a couple years ago religiously & I stopped playing poker because I just felt like it couldn’t be something sustainable & consistent. You are so inspiring & really motivated me to take the game seriously and know anything is possible with the right info & right play. Super grateful for all your in depth videos about all aspects of the game & would love to get personal mentoring from you someday. Keep up the great work brother

    Good stuff. Took about 20 pages of notes on the MTT guide videos so far.
    Really want to make the switch from cash-games to tournaments after a few years of playing most cash.
    Average ROI/ITM is about 20%, but keep getting unlucky around the 30-80 player range in 300-2k player fields.
    Hope to win a solid tournament soon.

    In these low limit tournies, like the 100-500 dollar buy in, especially up here in StL where the field isn’t great, I use the “sneaky” hands in position in multi-way pots. Either i isolate a mark or I get in cheap knowing that even two pair is going to get hairy because of straights and I play disciplined trying to get an unwarranted double up early. Stacks probably above 50bb range. Once 4-5 levels go by, all that junk is folded unless I’m opening from the button or sb against blinds

  • @justinteal3443
    @justinteal3443 4 года назад +3

    I love your videos man, thank you. How do you stay in the game mentally when you continually get hit with horrible beats? I've been tracking it and I've lost with pocket Kings 9 out of my last 11 times I've had them and I've lost with pocket Aces 4 out of the last 6 times. With the Kings, I've run into pocket Aces 3 times. This seems so mathematically improbable. Most of my beats are getting it in pre and getting beat with runner runner straights, or runner runner flushes or flopping 2 pair against me. It's seriously weighing on my so bad and tilting me. I get variance, but this has been going on for a while now. I cringe now when I get Kings or Aces instead of drooling. And just like that, I get beat. My mental game is suffering badly because of this stuff.

    • @Mousa91ldn
      @Mousa91ldn 3 года назад +2

      I know this is a 11 month old comment but I can relate to this I was also constantly getting beat when pre flop I know I've got the best hand and then I will lose to a 5 7 flush or a mid straight and for the exact same reason I give them the chance to chase their runners.
      The way I changed my betting pattern, especially in early stages is just bet heavier and more aggressive pre flop and flop if I have pocket As or Ks or AK and so on

    A favorite hand is a stupid premise...
    A favorite circumstance has way more value...
    For example: I want to flop middle set in late position....Top pair will always bet, while they believe you're on a draw...
    Your strength is well hidden...
    Bottom set isn't as good as one might think...Cause if the board pairs, you're on the low end of the FULL House...
    And top set is basically worthless, cause chances are everyone missed....
    Pocket aces in early position has less value than aces in late position..
    This game is premised on two key 🔑
    Factors: POSITION & OPPOSITION...

    • @Hoops590

      especially considering that so many players min raise giving you great odds to call; e bigger the raise the preflop raiser makes the harder it is to defend with marginal hands another way to defend is to just lead out on the flop, this works best against a button raiser who has a wider range of hands, if someone raises from early position they are more likely to have a strong hand so its better to defend with stronger hands or just fold

    One huge misleading thing to new players at lowstakes in this video is overplaying. Defending your blinds or defending whatsoever is very hard against the players you're facing. Because they are completely unaware of ABC poker. So you NEVER know what they have. All you should focus on is superoverbetting the nuts, try some allins on the flop and watch in amazement what some dudes call with. Why they do it, who knows, but they do. And it works both ways, staying away from marginal spots because you are completely in the blind of what they have or what they'll do. Another huge exploit is just betting on the completely dry flops. Doesn't matter if you bet 15 % of the pot, 4-5 players fold all the time on 322 flop. They just find it boring/troublesome to bother, hope to limp in and hit something on the next hand. But beware, if they call the flop they are almost never folding whatsoever. You can't turnbet away fish.

    So you’re telling me that Jackie Chan does not follow the scientific method?

  • @cata9223
    @cata9223 2 года назад

    Well if you want to get really advanced your wrong about 7/5s it’s actually super strong.
    if you raise 75s 6 BB and don’t get 4-bet your most likely going up against Ax or Kx or even Jx
    7/5s is a great hand heads up against that range!
    Here’s why because it’s way way more likely to connect with most boards in some way then any other hand.
    And your image is Ax and kx so almost impossible to lose if the board misses A or K. You win if it hits A or k you C-bet. 1/3 pot.
    Requirements: To succeed with junk you need to be playing 2/10 hands.

      If you get bored after 2 hours you don't really want to win, and if you don't have that hunger you will never win, so why play at all. The 1/10 000 genius will win just out of natural talent, for a while, but it will soon come to a point where they realize they need passion to evolve.
