I have to say, it's quite an impressive vehicle. Toyota really had outdone themselves on the Avalon for this generation. Although both my family and myself have mostly been luxury buyers, I've been looking for a decent, large, value-oriented, premium-grade vehicle that I can drive on a daily basis and this is really the only vehicle that fits the bill (for me); it's well constructed, dependable, exceptionally easy to maintain (I do my own maintenance), it's very reasonably priced for the kind of creature comforts you're getting, and the overall experience is very similar to the German offerings of yesteryear, only with a greater focus on simplicity and affordability. Although this generation is getting a bit old now, I'm still looking to bring one home before Toyota ruins them like so many of the other vehicles in their lineup. I really do quite like these, and say what you will about the target market, but this is still an excellent all around vehicle. For any interested persons, check out one of these in the "Sizzling Crimson Mica" color w/ light grey or tan interiors - it's an incredibly beautiful combination.
when you hit a "dip" in this one your spine absorbs the impact defiantly no floating in this one...my 2010 ride comfort kills this one....I wish I could go back to my old car.
I love this car a lot... always love avalons (since I was 19) Its just comfortable reliable smooth and veru well built.. now j see this.. I'm in love toyota put premium features on this car to compete w the Taurus, Azera, Lacrosse, and maxima
if someone dont have money by the time they are 60 they probably will have no money when they are older, people around 20 or 30 (like me lol) normally have less money but after 40 or maybe 50, after your kids go to college, you should be at least financially stable enough to buy a car you like. Love your reviews.
I had one, and love most of it. I have since traded it in, as it wasn't: - Comfortable - Large enough - Smooth enough - Quiet enough This was all very disappointing to me, as I like MANY other folks, was waiting with baited breath for this car. While it is beautiful in Fit, Finish and Trim, it lacked in comfort, size and quietness for ME. Some of the noise issue is the 18" rim/tires it had (or so I've been told). As for size, interior is noticeably smaller. I have traded it in on a 2012
I saw this car today at yhe dealer... a gorgeous car.. its amazing how diff is from the 2011 avalon... I love it... I just wished that toyota would have put an AWD as an option too and if u want coolet seats and bi xnon lights u have to opt for the limited.. But great great car toyota
This model has come a long way, my father has the 2003 version and it's pretty bland. Great review I like your personality. Do you know Steve Hammes, it seems like you two would get along well..
I love the style. Stands out with class. I take this car over any Buick, Audi, BMW, and Benz. All these Germans and Buick are just B.S. Marketing! So you can spend more of your retirement money for the "Ultimate Driving Machine". Nope, rather retire early in my Avalon cruising the country having fun. Rather than drive the Ultimate Machine to work at 70 yrs old.
Toyota Avalon XLE. Tem, grandes concorrentes de peso como Mercedes, BMW, entre outros. Todo completo, como motor, segurança, estabilidade, tecnologia de ponta. O Toyota Avalon, chegou para um publico de poder aquisitivo, e de bom gosto.
Really if I was looking for a loaded sedan I'd go with the Camry SE V6, but this is very nice too. Doesn't look cadillac-ish(made for older class). I can't wait til it shows up on the dealership floors so I can take a look at it. Great video!
Toyota may have gained a few potential Lexus ES buyers... a fully loaded Avalon is priced similarly to a base ES 350, which has many features in its own right.
Great review!! More precise, and informative than others. I think this is the only car I'd trade my Highlander in. It's very nice. I did get to sit in one while my Highlander was getting serviced. Although it's not an SUV, it still seems to be an upgrade from it. Thanks!!
Now, that is one beautiful car! High performance handling and speed, and very high quality luxury. This is very much like a Lexus. Other amerikan cars can not compare to this Toyota. This is like a 7-series BMW, but with better reliability. I highly endorse this car. The statement of amerikans knowing nothing about cars is correct.
Toyota apparently retooled the robots for the 2012 Camry production line, so they could call the 2012 Camry "all new". Why doesn't Toyota retool the robots for the 2012 Yaris sedan production line to bring us a 2014 Yaris sedan & coupe? So here is my rendering of the 2014 Yaris LE Sedan (with parts retooled from the 2012 Yaris HB) and a 2014 Yaris SE Coupe for those who want a 2-door Yaris, but hate the hatchback design.
Great review, as always, Tom. AND in my hometown. :-) I find it interesting they are trying to target the younger buyer.. 40-60 is the new demo they are trying to speak to. Interesting.
Great job Tom! But I can't help but think that the design of this car has been "copied" from many of today's models. For starters, the tail lights remind me of the Hyundai Azera and from the side, they look a lot like the Nissan Maxima. The front too seems like a fusion of Ford (no pun intended!) and some other asian car companies. But the car still looks extremely good and beautiful!
Greetings from Croatia! (Europe) :) I watch your reviews for a long period. My question is: how tall are you? I ask that beacuse i have problem with some cars when i sit in driver seat i can barely fit my self in the back and im 185 cm or 6 foot. (Audi A4 for example is to tight for me in the back). Btw i love your reviews beacuse you explain car in details and add some fun fact about that car.
haters gona hate and potatoes gona potatoe i guess, though still Englishman had a saying beauty is in the eye of the beholder so chill out, I think that Toyota in Europe is getting better in design terms(i dunno how US market looks like) but the most important is the reliability which is brilliant when it comes to Toyota
Different markets.Avalon buyers are more value conscious and ES buyers are looking for more luxury than they can get in a Toyota. I foresee the avalon will serve as a gateway vehicle from the Toyota label to the Lexus label. People who at one time could only afford an Avalon, and enjoyed their ownership experience will be more likely to look into the lexus lineup once they are able to replace their avalon with something a little nicer.
finally a decent looking toyota branded toyota (lexus now has great designs and the scion fr-s looks great). Just wish they would change the front grill. It looks like the horrible looking sonata hybrid in the front. Either stick with the Aston Martin/Ford Grill only or just put the regular toyota grill.
Looks like it stole the from a Hyundai Sonata hybrid. The rear looks like it came from a Jag/Aston Martin/ Sonata. For that kind of $, I rather get a Lexus ES. Thanks a great review.
It's one size larger than the Camry/ES. More interior room than a Camry or an ES, less expensive than the ES. It's a valid niche. The RLX, I agree is quite pointless.
Rented a 2014 Avalon Hybrid. They tried to make it more sporty, but just stiffened up the suspension. The result is the WORST ride I have ever experienced in a saloon car. They have NO IDEA how to tune a suspension. Additionally, the seats were flat and uncomfortable. This all may b fine in a BMW M5, but that, it is not. CVT was awful and fits the worst of 'rubber-band like' analogies. CVT made me seasick. But car was well-made and very well put together. Good materials all around. No cheapness anywhere. The car looks very posh and luxurious inside and out. Got 40mpg over 1,000 miles.
Great review Tom, looks like you and I came to many of the same conclusions about the new Avalon.(What's the old joke, you can tell the level of a mans intelligence by how much he agrees with you)? /watch?v=_hK_lokW0Y8
stop bringing the Buick again and again with this legendary Toyota avalon.. you ostrich... Toyota know for quality, comfort, fuel efficiency, and most important reliability... Toyota are best best cars...i have 1998 Camry with 260k...that thing is does not know how to give up....
Honestly why spend this much money on a Toyota, when you can get European Luxury. We don't even have to go that far, why not a Maxima. Which looks much better than this, and also some what preforms like a sports car.
keep telling yourself that, that won't change the fact that Toyota fail at making interesting modern looking cars. their 2013 cars look like they were designed somewhere between (2000-2005) Its well known that Toyota is a boring car to look-at and to drive, stop being so butt-hurt and read about it.
Nope, GM. Any Toyota is a death trap; case in point the runaway Lexus, and many cruise control problems with Camry for many years. And I like the Smartfortwo.
Sir you are so wrong...corolla engine? where did you get that? i sure would like a corrola with a powerfull V6 and Audi what? have you ever seen audi? yes that german ugly cars form Inglostadt

The Avalon droped the Camry platform in this generation it now shares the platform with the Lexus ES
Of course, when it comes out...
I love this car a lot... always love avalons (since I was 19)

NICE. The new avalon looks sweet inside and out
Love the taillights
I like this new car, but I liked the old one too. It saddens me to see these traditional large sedans being phased out. :(
Only 2 inches shorter than the previous generation, but looks so much smaller.
I had one, and love most of it. I have since traded it in, as it wasn't:
- Comfortable

Oh no, thank you. Spread the word.
On what?😢

Another amazing review by Tom. Great job !!

Nicely done. Couldn’t have said it better myself.

Hey Tom, any plans to review the new 2013 civic?
Thanks Tom..
I like the car very much. That guy said that the Avalon was designed in the US, that's false, Toyota's headquarters are in Japan.
Great review as always, Tom :)
Toyota may have gained a few potential Lexus ES buyers... a fully loaded Avalon is priced similarly to a base ES 350, which has many features in its own right.

Got about 2 miles, stopped to reposition it and... d'oh!
I like if there is no aston-martin-like lower intake. But, Toyota has done a nice job as always :-). Waiting for the hybrid review...
What's with the dual projectors?
I have one but trading it in after a year. Don’t like the brakes, blind spots on driver side and I’m 6”3 need more head room so I can sit up.

Tom! What music did you use here!?!?!? :D
Great review tho! Glad to see Toyota stepping up it's game
Beautiful Car, Inside & Out ●♡●
Dependable
What Corolla has a 3.5L V6?

Dude....Tom...you sound sooo sick! Can u do review of the 2013 TOYOTA VENZA?
It's an improvement.
Original Daring Design = Camry Headlamps, BMW Sharkfin, Audi Hood&Front Grill, Acura Mirrors&Tail Lamps, Jaguar Roofline, Corolla Engine, Cadillac Door Handle.
Hey Tom, you sounded like you were under the weather while doing the voice over.
Hi Tom, great review as always! I was also wondering, what's the name of the music you use at the beginning of the video? lol
2013 nissan sentra with stick review pls
Great review, as always, Tom. AND in my hometown. :-)
I find it interesting they are trying to target the younger buyer.. 40-60 is the new demo they are trying to speak to. Interesting.
😍
Hey Tom! will u review the new Rav4?
Great job Tom! But I can't help but think that the design of this car has been "copied" from many of today's models. Why is it not available in Europe? :/
The bottom grill should be a bit more elegant... Hmm!!! it's sleek, but I don't know???
Greetings from Croatia! (Europe) :) I watch your reviews for a long period. My question is: how tall are you? Everyone wants a younger demo. Curious since young people don't have as much money, generally.
Great review, Tom!
thank god ofr such a great review. cause this is the car im getting in three years
Ivan K so did you end up getting it?
@@saada6084 LOL nope. Ivan 6 years ago was not that smart. Definitely did not get this car haha
@@MonsterKz69 what did you end up getting then?
tres bien...
Love this car.

its not based on camry its the ES350 everyone keeps making that mistake!

Interior looks better than a Lexus
Very nice
please review the 'new' lexus ls non f sport
This is the first Toyota who isn't looks like dishwasher

Wait for the new Impala! It looks better.
These are a tremendous bargain on the used car market. Literally driven by grandpa to church on Sunday
I found one for $3000 with 120,000 miles one owner and it was an old person
Sound like you have a COLD Tom.
Great review Tom! But I couldn't help but feel like you sounded different. As if you are stuffed up or sick.
no more rear reclining seats? booo. good review.
Looks like it stole the from a Hyundai Sonata hybrid. The rear looks like it came from a Jag/Aston Martin/ Sonata. For that kind of $, I rather get a Lexus ES. Thanks a great review.
You are alone in that boat if you think Audis are ugly.
Back of car looks like a altima.
I love
nice car looks a bit like saab
Una marabella més de Toyota
👍💓I love Toyota Avalon
Who buys an Avalon when there's already Camry and Lexus ES? Thats like if Honda built like an RLX version of the Accord
It's one size larger than the Camry/ES. More interior room than a Camry or an ES, less expensive than the ES. It's a valid niche. The RLX, I agree is quite pointless.
Darksyne I went to buy a Camry but a salesman had me try out a used 2013 Avalon. The 2015 Camry LE felt like a joke after being in the Av

crack kills
The front and rear look like they came from Hyundai.
Older buyer=Old geezer. Avalon is a great car, but too often associated with geriatrics....loll....older than 40-60 years old!
The older model looked nicer
Lol, I still don't think this has style.
Honestly why spend this much money on a Toyota, when you can get European Luxury. We don't even have to go that far, why not a Maxima. Which looks much better than this, and also some what preforms like a sports car.
NS who wants sport? If so buy a Vet
Because people want reliability, not garbage. And this Avalon looks better than the Maxima.

Front Sonata Hybrid and Veloster back old Sonata + Optima... PRETTY MUCH A RIPP OFF. Still fucking ugly and Boring...
i am such a toyota hater so i cant take any of their products seriously
Junk.
