I 100% agree, but it was just a little bit of fun, he has progressed a lot but needs to work on his balance, trot posting, and his 2 point and eventually I think he'll have to stop screaming on Cloudy (my opinion)
Harlen looks so happy when he jumped. Even though I don’t think he is ready to jump it gives him something to look forward to and then he will work hard so he can do it by himself

Harlen is doing great! I understand people wanting him to be a more advanced rider before jumping, but when you are teaching kids the most important part is keeping them interested and having fun!
But it’s very unsafe and unfair to both the rider and the horse. A fun way to keep things inter while learning is playing games. At my riding camp. The younger kinds walk around while answering questions about horses. If they get one wrong they half to go into jumping position at the stand or walk or post at the stand or walk. When they get a question right they get to walk or trot around the small circle. This is a very fun way to be tought how to ride.
I still can imagine harlen when he’s older being really good at riding…❤❤🎉🎉

I don’t have my own pony 😢(yet) so my dad and I traveled 40 minutes just to gallop but it was worth it! I’d never galloped before that but it was amazing! I love your vids and Harlow seems like an amazing big sister. You’ve grown so much as a rider ❤
the first time I galloped it was bareback (this was a bad idea for a first time gallop lol) there was a slight hill and it was gravel. I decided that I wanted to gallop for my first time (I'm a western rider btw) so I take my mare and I stop her at the bottom. I start at a trot and then kick her on (canter was quite painful ngl) then all of a sudden my quarter horse/arabian mare decides that she's a racehorse! me and my cousin were racing so when she took off my cousins gelding took off as well lol. but when she took off i didn't feel scared or nervous.......I felt FREE! her stride was so smooth and so relaxing that I spread my arms out and stopped squeezing her sides and we just ran. no care in the world, no fear, no worries..... it was just us. after that run we became best friends. I am now 12 years old and getting all A's in school, my mare eclipse is my heart horse and is in great condition, she's 21 this year❤
I'm probably getting my own pony soon. My mum has said yes but she'll only get me one if my dad says yes he's a little strict so fingeres crossed he says yes!

@Shannon Donnelly its kinda hard to explain, but ill do my best. if almost feels like your slightly rocking back and forth. and sometimes, when you listen, your heartbeat matches with the horses hooves when you gallop if you want feel the safest, slightly lean forward. but be careful cause you may make the horse go faster.

For me, its easier with shorter stirrups and for some long is easier. Its not your choice. Maybe Harlen wants short stirrups. Not to sound harsh at all.

It's kind of a pain having 2 horses but being at different yards! You should move Popcorn to cloudy's yard!

Harlow your riding has improved so much, your getting so good at it but I don’t think Harlen should be jumping, he screams on the horse and doesn’t know to control it properly, I think he just needs to learn a bit more before doing a jump :)

Am i the only person who thinks Harlen shouldnt be jumping yet!? It took me a year and half to even start! And i feel like he lands on Cloudy’s back a little hard when trotting. But he really is getting much better! He still has some improvment to be done though. Hes doing very well though!

Harlen is improving so much, he just does do some young kids mistakes (screaming and making it obvious that he is scared) but I can’t blame him for that I mean after all he is a kid and he is doing so well for his age :) ❤❤❤ One day he’ll be a great rider!!! 🎉❤

its much easier to learn how to post with shorter stirrups, i think the length of his stirrups are quite nice since it will help give more control on the upper body! usually it gives better stability and support, but i think cloudy being a shetland might also be a factor. im no expert but thats just what i personally think

Honestly don’t even know why they bought cloudy. Soon enough Harlow and harlen are going to be too big for him. Or maybe they are going to teach him tricks. When they are too big.

You can make those ice lollies on your own at home. Apples, carrots and tea is a super easy combo to make yourself. You just need some time, molds for the ice and enough room in your freezer. Awesome video as always.
I feel like you should maybe invest in a jumping or dressage saddle for Harlen if cloudy can wear it
Just for safety, you shouldn’t be letting Harlen jump at all when he can’t even sit a trot or post correctly. It’s dangerous and unfair on the horse.
I would agree with this. You can’t even think about jumps, especially when you don’t know your groundwork.
