Jacqueline Higgins I’ve watched this 3 times already. I was already aware of your family lineage from documentaries I’ve seen on the FDNY, but hearing your fathers stories, they are hilarious, emotional and motivational in equal measure. Here’s to your dad, and your family from across the pond.

An absolute legend and a class act. I had the privilege of having Joe Higgins as my DI in the February 2001 class. I’ll never forget the first day of probie school. Full Metal Jacket in effect. I wish I had it on video. Love ya bro. Keep kickin ass!

You literally CANNOT pack anymore DISCIPLINE, DEDICATION & DRIVE than this into a 2 hour show💥💪👊. Salute to you JOE!! Just Incredible. I felt so pumped during it, I think I believed I could wrestle an elephant! This is up there as a podium episode🏆. Thank you guys and stay well.❤

My DI in 1997. I wish ..God I wish ..I had held onto all his teachings. I remember him saying one day “ If I won the lottery.. a million dollars ..I wouldn’t leave this job”. Never forget him. Like yesterday. He gave respect to all the ex cops, like me, and never spoke down to us. He spoke to us. He never spoke down to anyone. He raised my game big time. I still, still to this day, think about the academy and Joe Higgins. Joe you really had an effect on me not only as a firefighter but as a young man. I still carry those values.
    Job well done.

In the 90’s, the rap group Boogie Down Productions came out w/a joint & the 1st line went, “When & where are all the real men?” I think I found one & his name is Joe Higgins. Semper Fi, Marine.
